I've gotten killed chain trample by an Uragaan and Bazel tag team.
I've been roar locked by a pair of diablos taking turns kicking me in the dick.
I've had a raging tempered Anjanath triple hit me with it's double charge, TWICE.
I've had Nirgigante flinch lock me to death and never left a rage state or would immediately jump back into it after his big charge.
Been poisoned by an Azure Ratholos and then had a fireball shoot through a wall to finish me off while I was trying to heal.

Shit happens, man. Don't give up. Before you know it, you'll be balls deep in Toestra and making him squeal as you rob him of all his horns, powder and jewels and it gets easier as you get better gear and more experience.

Capcom's track record with PC ports is fine
And MH is already capped at 60 so there won't be any framerate related bugs

I had to do the 2 G rank black diablos quest in mhfu.
Took me 12 tries and I finished it with 1 life left and 3 minutes befor time ran out.
I also had to learn a whole new weapon just to get past the 2 tigerex quest.

I used bombs to wake him up - he fell down after waking up, then he glared at me and I couldn't move. He proceeded to charge me causing a stun lock. Next, he attacked me until I died and there was nothing I could do.

As a matter of fact, though, after the first time he instakilled me, I came and blew up my bombs to wake him, then used a farcaster to go back to camp, but I then only had one bomb left. I guess that's what I'll have to do next time, just stock up on mega barrel bombs and cheese him to death when he retreats.

Ok so you don't seem to be any good at monster hunter so this is a secret you can only pull of in world.
You can restock your inventory IN A HUNT.
This means you can get your elder dragon weak then
Go to his bed.
Pull out your Barrel bombs and place them.
Pick a far caster.
Singer shot the bombs.
Farcast your ass away as the bombs go off.
Restock in camp.
Run back.
Repeat till dead.

Or you can grow some balls and fight the monster because the wake up enraged part is the best part.

I got the diablos glaive with a elementless gem on it and weakness exploit 3, so with that and Attack 7 I should have 25% affinity on weakspot hits.

Well considering I spent 5 minutes or so getting to him, then went back to get chilled drinks at some point, went to the bathroom at another point, and my game over time was 37 minutes, it was probably was more like 30 minutes total.

Put fire resist decorations on (make em if you need to), eat all vegetables, bring fire cloak, eat armorskin/demondrug - the dude shouldn't be able to kill you in two hits. Make yourself immune to bullshit so in the rare event that you get bullshitted, you don't get killed. Alternatively, earplugs set.

Or just go so overly offensive that you either finish the hunt in 8 minutes or die, either way you didn't waste much time. I assume you're probably on the post-Nergi elder dragon jam so the slow route would probably be better.

Teostra, Kushala Daora, and Nergigante are at their most dangerous in their office at the end of the hunt. They're on their last legs and pissed. It doesn't make the most sense that a monster you've mostly murdered is now at its strongest, but you know, video games.

I always put two mega barrel bombs and two mega bombs in my elder dragon slaying item preset.

Also: Have you crafted the Power/armor talons? Remember that they stack with the charms when all are in your inventory.

You're just trash and this game is boring. Had 200+ hours in this game in the first 2 weeks of the game and no fight was challenging, not even tempered elders or the HR 100 fight.

That's still a long time. At 30 mins you are either not doing enough damage because your weapon needs to be upgraded or you are spending too much time not hitting the monster because you are running away, being too catious, or the like.

Also you can stop it from going to it's nest if it being in its nest is a problem.

When a ED wakes up they will be in bed.
Then he gets super pissed off they get faster and the whole place becomes dangerous. (Tornado town, ground exploding all the time, Black spikes)
Its hard so I find it fun. But you need to get good to deal with it.
If you can't deal with it you bring crystal burst and keep it till he limps. When he limps away you need to quickly put your weapon away and shoot 2 so he staggers 2 times.
Then he will come back to fight you for around 1 min to 40 seconds.
If you keep picking more up you can avoid his wake up completely. Avoiding the hardiest part

So he charged at you, which stunned you, and then what attack did he do? There is no way you could die in literally two hits from HR Teo. Not even tempered monsters do that much damage.

Also helps that most the female armor just isn't particularly good looking in World. For the first time I actually regret my female character being the one I put the time into. I usually enjoy the variety since my friends play males, but now I'm just annoyed that their gear looks better.

After having its legs broken and beaten mostly to death, I feel like the adrenaline spike was at the beginning when you first cornered the animal, not 10 minutes later after beating it almost entirely to death.

I bought an attack and defence charm that go in my pocket for buffs.

You can craft them together with bazel talons to make Powertalon and Armortalon, which are even stronger. You can then buy another of each charm, and both the charms and the talons will stack.

My weapon is at max upgrade, I used demon drug and the attack buff that goes in your inventory.

You need to upgrade those and then buy the charms again and carry them

It wasn't a glare, idiot, it was a roar. Completely avoidable with earplugs, a shield, or a well-timed dodge roll. Every large monster does it, so bring some mitigation for it.

He had the ground shooting lava maybe. And he was just on-top of me, I couldn't really see what attack. Maybe I should have had the foresight to not stand on the cracks where lava can shoot up?

Rathalos is infamous for this. If you are in front of him when he roars he will immediately follow up with a fireball which is impossible to avoid.

I mean, some monsters kind of have this shit as their signature. Rathalos roars and fireballs directly in front of him, Yian Garuga backhops with a roar and then tail flips.

Not the same but Tigrex roars can physically hit you, etc etc

That's accurate, there wasn't any audio, he just flew up staring me down with flames in his mouth; I was frozen while and after he did this and he chained into a charge.

I feel like the failure stories of monster hunter only serve to embolden me though, when I lose to a monster at the eleventh hour and "waste" half an hour of my life I feel incredible incentive to bring my a-game and push its shit in next time.
I was doing a 1-faint Bagel investigation, had him in the trap with 1 tranq bomb thrown and a scale blew up under him. No biggy, because I had health left so I ran back but then got hit by a Gajalaka bomb. This left me pretty low, now what I should've done is just heal, Bagel isn't getting any less tranq'd and I have another trap on hand, but I run forward to end it ASAP and then another Gajalaka molotov hits me. I was infuriated, but in hindsight it was absolutely my fault.
Whether it's just a small skill you didn't get in pre-planning or even a simple dodge right when you should've dodged left, I feel like a solid 99% of the time I could've done something to prevent my cart. I'm not saying you have to feel that way OP, but especially in World where things actually work in your favour most of the time, it's hard to say you just "couldn't do anything".

Tldr: Channel your fury at a wasted half an hour and use it to beat Teostra

I fought the Ratholos a million times in 4U and legit never remember this happening. Maybe it's because I always stood at 2-3 o'clock of where he's facing? I don't know.

Was your character like... doing anything? Holding their head like a roar, staggering like tremor, shaking on the ground like paralysis, stars around the head like stun... This is legitimately sounding like your controller disconnected or some shit, I'm fairly confident Teostra does not have some unique glare that momentarily shocks your character, hell I'm pretty sure he can't even roar in the air.

Yeah you're only susceptible to it if you're like... in front of his face or directly to the side of his head in range for dual sword. If you're not actively trying to climb in his mouth it's typically not an issue.

No, the dude's either made something up to make it sound harder than it is or he's get confused about roars/wind pressure/tremors even though he's practically at the end of the game and should really be able to tell the difference between these things by now.
