it's OK, it's comfy for some games, but I just can't get used to the using the trackpad for camera in games like dark souls.

Yes, it works well, really well. Only theres a bit of a learning curve.
Some people use the gyro for aiming which means you tilt the controller to aim, its very precise and works fine. Personally I dont use it because I wanna get good.

Only works well with games that both allow KB+M and controller inputs simultaneously. Otherwise you get digital movement mapped to an analog stick.
Far Cry 4 and Dishonored 2 work well, but the button prompts switch between controller and KB when you move the stick or aim with the pad.

Valve actually believed they could displace the console industry with Valve branded prebuilts, a Valve branded stolen linux distro and a Frankenstein controller. And then when it didn't happen overnight they promptly abandoned the entire thing. Almost unmatched levels of arrogance with the power of your brand.

It allows you to jump and controller the camera at the same time with the backpaddles. And it lets you have good shooting and good driving at the same time in GTA style games. It's the definitive way to play those two genres and a ton of other games benefit from minor improvements. You can emulate Kingdom Hearts, bind the command menu to the backpaddles and not have to take your hands off of anything to use it. You can actually properly aim the bow without stick aiming without having to suffer the shit tier keyboard layout. The last boss of Ty the Tasmanian Tiger has a boomerang control segment where you go down a Starfox 64 style tunnel but the controls are inverted which I suck ass at, so I go into the steam controller settings and invert my controls to correct it in game.

Good for Wii emulation.

Yes but you can do more with the steam controller because two trackpads, dual stage triggers, and back paddles. And stuff like shifting the entire controller layout with a click of a button

It's pretty limiting for angles of approaching the pads (evidential by holding from the top and toying with the pads, that flat-accessibility is especially helpful for demographics with even small nails).
