Didn't play it desu senpai
I wanted to play it in VR is it worth holding out for it to come to PC?
>RE after 4
It's not fun, catering to VR and slwoing everything down to accomidate that ruined any chance of the gameplay being engaging.
The puzzle room is the best part of the game and it's only one tiny segment.
>he thinks 4 was good
7 was more of a RE than 4 ever was
>what's your excuse, Sup Forums?
It was absolute abomination, more of the same "cinematic" jumpscare trash that the indies have been shitting out for a decade now.
But the worst thing are the GenZ nufag kids, who THINK that this mediocre-at-best mess would be "return to the roots" for the series. Jesus fuck, at least play the OG trilogy before you shitpost such nonsense.
No replay value. Shit puzzles. Shit writing. Shit bosses. Shit gameplay. DLC wall. All around: trash.
>inb4 "didn't play it even!"
clocking 21 hours on Steam as we speak. I still feel cheated.
Yeah because Resident Evil was always well known for speedy gameplay
>what's your excuse, Sup Forums?
I got stuck in the second part after you escape Jack and the old bitch pursues you.
I can't kill the hornet nests that pop up in the house.
Got to the first save and never touched it again
it is.
this is how you detect casuals who never played the games and just listened to some e-celeb.
It was fun until you leave the baker estate and then everything was shitty and boring. Epic cinematic final "boss" as well.
>tank controls
>speedy in anyway
It could have used more enemy types.
>speedy
the only two speedy OG RE games are 2 and 3, and the only good one of those two is the third game
7 is better than 4.
Resident Evil 4 aka Call of Resident Evil 1 was the beginning of the down syndromification of the series and is one of the greatest tragedies in video game history. Capcom in their infinite wisdom released a spooky zombie game on a console for children and as a result of extremely poor sales of REmake they came to the wrong decision that the classic RE formula was flawed and needed to be changed. So in their infinite wisdom they dumbed the series down and turned it from a resource management survival horror series into a run-and-gun shoot the fuck out of everything explosions and 360 quantum kicks action game for brainlets. Sigh... thankfully RE is back on track with 7 :)
RE7 is a soyboy game
t. soyboy
Just what I would expect from a 20 something who loves re4 and dank memes.
9/10 until you get to the boat
6/10 after that
>Resident Evil 4 aka Call of Resident Evil 1
I get where you're coming from and I even agree with you somewhat. But Call of Duty doesn't hold a candle to Resident Evil 4. It's not even close.
This pretty much. That second half of the game is really lame, but it starts off so damn strong.
He's right though. These games can be beaten quickly.
Idk man when I saw the tanker beached in the swamp I was in awe at its size and exploring its dark spooky interior was fun. Obviously a tanker is big, I just mean that I saw it and was like "k some greasy shit going on in there. Here we go!"
Classic RE sucks dick. So glad they made this instead.
Legitimately enjoyed it more than I enjoyed RE4
Now all I want is a true remake of RE2 and 3 and a new RE1 remake in first person perspective alá RE7
Classic RE sucks dick. So glad they made this instead.
But 7 is by defnition a game to attract soys.
If it was like the classics, soyboys would cry about the controls
this desu the enemies in the game get boring and unispired really fast, boss fights are cool though
I guess because we're used to the most over the top looking shit from the recent RE games
I like how you think. Keep posting.
Is soboy the new cuck?
Everythong after boat was a slog but was rly good before that
>I guess because we're used to the most over the top looking shit from the recent RE games
Even the earliest RE game had top tier enemy variety. 7 is just complete shit in this regard.
>that linear ass house with lucas

Its was OK all around not doing anything extraordinary that the previous games hasn't done better.
voth jill is best jill
if you disagree your opinion is LITERALLY wrong
They brought the old school formula back but they took out all the challenge, simplified the exploration and just put animations on everything, its a kids game.
>voth jill is best jill
Metaphysically wrong.
Also, Umbrella Chronicles is shit.
My performance was utter garbage. ran it on a 750ti with an i5 and 6 ram, shit had sometimes low 10's at a 1024x576 resolution. Played until the trailer part but had to drop. exploration was fun but the story was garbage
>long hair jill
man, can you get any more fucking generic?
your jill is worse than RE5 jill, and that's saying something
>RE
>challenging
Indeed
7 was fantastic, the series needed another reboot to keep the casual audience interested in the series. 8 is going to do really well, no matter what direction they take the game in.
Of course, Leon is going to be the star.
>long hair jill
>generic
Claire is the only long hair character that matters. Rebecca is generic kawaiishit, Voth Jill is just shit.
Classic Jill a best
>bought Gold Edition as my first Resi

I wanna smell her beret
Esoterically wrong.
It looked like shit so I did not touch it
capcom should have made the puzzles more difficult.
>REmake
it's nowhere as good as 1, 3 or the Outbreaks. try those instead
>the Outbreaks
Ah yes, the "crawl on the floor and wait for death to take you while all your teammates abandon you" simulator. Good times.
>the Outbreaks
Stop forcing this meme. I enjoyed them, but they are sometimes downright bad offline, and I don't care for the 'You can play them online - just follow this 20 step guide' meme either.
Series ranking is 3>1>Dead Aim>REmake>CV=0>2>Survivor=Outbreaks=Gaiden>Survivor2>therest
>20 Step guide
this is what no-onliners actually believe
Kekekekekkekek REmake is objectively the best game in the series and a real candidate for the best video game ever made.
Tasteless. Asylum is probably the strongest location in the whole series. The loveletter to clocktower with resident evil formula mixed in an with online as a cherry on the cake.
>less action than 1
>full of unnecessary timesinks
>slower than 1
>the generic voice acting
stop being Sup Forumscore, my dude
It doesn't even take long to set up online and REmake is the best.
Am I the only one that thinks Moira is cute?
Sure, she's a potty mouthed minx but she's so cute.
I just wanna spank her.
Outbreak would be perfect by todays standerds. Online RE that i can actually get behind!
The classic Resident evils
>limited supplies
>enemies you cant just head cap
>bosses that make you conserve your best guns
>locked doors, puzzles, and backtracking
>no checkpoints
>no 360 wheel kicks or spinning back kicks
>and for the love of god no ammo drops from enemies
RE7 wasnt a terrible game. I would have prefered it be anything but first person though.
And RE is somewhat difficult if your not looking up guides or if its your first play through.
>I Never Played REmake But Follow The Games Are Art Meme: The Post
>action
>survival horror
Come on, man... as for everything else I have never had a problem with the voice acting. Timesinks? Lol wut.
Lol okay. I've finished the REmake on hard countless times and love it start to finish. Good mememememe tho kid.
>REmake
>survival horror
ah yes, there's very much survival horror when you have defense items to fully negate grab damage and potentially one-shot your attacker WHILE having more health items than in 1.
>lol wut?!
magnum "puzzle", corpse burning and fuel tank escort are all there to unnecessarily pad out game time.
First off.
1 HAD THE WORST VOICE ACTING IN RE BAR NONE!
Its soundtrack was shit
And less action? There where more enemies, more ammo, and crimson heads.
Stop being that memer.
And yes, its faster to beat then 1 because one didnt have half of what remake had
From The masks in the begining too more rooms/ereas all together
REmake was gold compaired to 1.
1 was shit, 2 and 3 are the best in the IG genere

no where near as memorable though
>played the game on easy
I'm not sure how self defense items negate survival horror lol.
>There were more enemies
t. haven't played 1, 1's mansion revisit shits on REmake's
>crimson heads
ridiculously easy to avoid and at most meet like 3-5 non-scripted crimson heads during your entire playthrough
>2 are the best in the genre
yeah you clearly haven't played any of the games par REmake. get outta here
normal since that was the highest difficulty available. never died once during the entire game
I really like the concept and they nailed the presentation and level design, but I am not a fan of the whole "Enemies mostly cannot die and can only be incapacitated" shit that was taken from other FPS horror games.
If they merge the enemies from the main RE series with the atmosphere, level design, and combat of RE7 then I think it will be absolutely solid. As-is, I think it was a OK first attempt to reboot the franchise that needs work.
>1 HAD THE WORST VOICE ACTING IN RE BAR NONE!
You haven't played many RE games have you
>Its soundtrack was shit
No it wasn't. Most of REmake's soundtrack was lifted from RE1.
>And less action? There where more enemies, more ammo, and crimson heads.
We went over this quite a few threads ago, but RE1 had more ammo and zombies.
>From The masks in the begining too more rooms/ereas all together
Learn how to into English mate.
>1 was shit
No it wasn't, you'd know if you actually played the games instead of listening to shitty Sup Forums and r/games memes
>2 and 3 are the best in the IG genere
The fuck is the IG genere? What's a genere? Also, 2 isn't better than 1 or 3.
I agree with you as far as RE4 precipitating a massive imbalance between action and horror, but I do think it was the last console one that kept the atmosphere up until RE7.
there's very little risk or item management involved when you have little amount of enemies, 'receive no damage' items and more health items than in 1, making it next to impossible to actually die
But I loved RE7 enough to platinum it OP. As people have said, game could have used more enemy types, and it sucked from the boat onwards, but chris’ dlc really brought it home and made it feel more like a traditional RE. The rest of the dlc was fun too, game was a blast to play in VR. Looking forward to RE8, hope they don’t screw up REmake2
Lol corpse burning as a time sink kek. The crimson head mechanic adds an entirely new level of holy fuck to the game. If you see it as a time sink perhaps vidya isn't a good hobby for you. The fuel canister was dumb but it was meant as a "you can't run with this so find a way to deal with the monsters without running" (in b4 you clear them all between the two points like you do during speedruns).
The magnum "puzzle" was indeed retarded.
the evil within 2 was objectively a better resident evil game then this outlast clone.

It's literally most of the REmake soundtrack but with some better music and a better ending song
RE1 has litterally some of the worst dialouge in RE history
Did you play the REmasterd on hard
Ive been playing RE sinve its release on PS1
Dont try to tell me i havent played RE1, i even have it on my ps3
...
I've played 0, 1, 2, 3, CVX, Outbreak 1 and 2 and REmake is my favorite. I first played REmake on gc when it was released in 2002 and crimson heads were shit your pants scary. As an adult who plays it on steam on hard...yeah they are easy to kill or avoid them entirely when you have the game mapped out in your head but this isn't the case when you play it for the first time. Please turn your autism down a few notches bud.
>Dead Aim

RE1 still has more ammo and enemies.
>Ive been playing RE sinve its release on PS1
No you haven't. I can tell by the way you talk about RE1 that you haven't played it, and your cocksucking of REmake, 2 and 3 is just to fit in. You clearly haven't played any of the spinoffs or CODE:Veronica either.
>Dont try to tell me i havent played RE1, i even have it on my ps3
You got the most easily available version. Good job.
It really isn't, even the directors cut. I can't get the damn ear rape out of my head now.
>if I find it hard the first time then that means other people should to
never died on my first and only Jill and Chris REmake normal playthroughs. it's not that hard to bring out the shotgun when you see a crimson and aim up
Finished yesterday and it was amazing. What do i do now, begin from the start in the highest difficulty?
1 and DC has the same soundtrack, what are you talking about
You didn't start RE on the PS1 as you claimed. I bet you bought the PS3 version, but I'm also starting to doubt that, as the Director's Cut Dualshock has really good pieces at the start, with the only real bad ones being the replacement for the portrait room and the basement theme
RE7 was my GOTY fuck all you niggas.
I would take the perfectly paced and highly detailed world of RE7 over the 50th open world shit any day.
I didn't say that other people should. I don't believe that you never died on your first run on normal unless you played it as an adult.
>mudmonsters and superhuman hick family are better than las plagas and T-virus mutants, bosses and other fucked up shit
I would play Madhouse since it places all it's enemies in new locations to surprise you. some of the bosses also act differently and items and keys are in all new locations making the game feel fresh and new again.
