I'm gonna be honest, as someone who's an aspiring developer, I think signing with Sony would be one of the best things I could do.
They obviously give their developers blank checks to make the games they want, and don't put much pressure on them. Look at fucking Team Ico, they had a decade to develop an 8 hour game.
If I ever get to the status I want to, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to make games for Sony.

I'll be there were some people within the studio who saw that as problematic and appealing to the male gaze, so she was redesigned as a strong independent womyn. Not exactly, but it's closer to that than it's been in a long ass time. I don't like that the western industry collectively decided to stop putting waifus in games. You see a massive uptick in the popularity of Japanese media as a response. Many of the people who used to play western games switched their main hobby to watching anime and playing the occasional weeb game. The problem is that the japanese game industry knows that otaku will play their games regardless of whether they're good or not. There are definitely exceptions, P5 and Automata were definitely great games, but they can't quite touch my memories of when western gaming was at its peak: deus ex, dragon age, mass effect. When are we going to get another rpg that truly feels like going on an adventure, one with depth in the storytelling, great visuals and gameplay? Imagine an anime game that had all of that AND the waifus? V would explode.

i got a ps4 to play monster hunter and DBFz and horizon was definetelly a nice surprise.
couldnt stop playing it for weeks, this game is great.
