How often do you play games in secrecy?
How often do you play games in secrecy?
never
i dont really care if my friends see me playing some meme or weeb game
Never? What are you playing that you want to hide?
>adding literal whos to your friendo list
>caring what someone anonymous over the internet thinks of you
autism
all the time. I don't play online games.
The trick is to not have friends. That way you don't need to hide anything.
>stay off of steam for the day
>next day friends ask where the fuck you've been
That's because you have no friends, weeb.
Pretty rarely, but sometimes I just feel like playing without being bugged.
All the time because I have no friends
who gives a shit, only like 10% of my steam friends are people I know and I'm pretty open about my power level to everyone anyway.
take the iron pill
Never, because the few friends I have don't give a shit what I play.
My friend gifted me a game that I didn't want to play. I listed it ironically on my wishlist. I ended up just sorting achievements by average completion time and using SAM to get the achievements while collecting hours offline. I'm not ungrateful, I just didn't want to play Tyranny and he's my bro.
>wow I've been online for much too long this week, people are going to think I'm a shut-in loser
*goes offline, makes profile private so they can't see last played*
Why is Sup Forums full of extroverts with friends now?
I deleted the few friends i had. We rarely talked so meh.
There is literally nothing wrong with have a few friends.
jej
uhh having a lot of steam friends doesn't mean you're an extrovert
Not often but whenever I play weeb VNs on Steam I use another account with Family Sharing enabled so they can't see how much time I put on them
fairly often
sometimes I just want to play single player games in peace god damn get the fuck off my case
I only ever flip offline when I am constantly closing the game so I dont spam alerts
I rarely play games on PC, but generally I always have it set to appear offline because I like my privacy and don't want people bugging me
it's as easy as visiting a steam friends thread on Sup Forums
never because even in offline mode the game times appear on my public profile
Often. I have pretty severe social anxiety, so it's not uncommon that I'll make up some bullshit reason why I can't go to X social event and stay home to play games instead. I don't want to be caught lying.
I have an autistic friend that plays nothing but Banished, like it's all he plays. He has like 800 games on Steam, but he only plays that one. Think he has like 300 hours in it so far, also don't know why because it looks boring and tedious as shit.
>implying you need offline mode
>leave computer on indefinitely
>leave games running in background constantly
>nobody can accurately tell how long you've played any game or when you're online (unless you switch games)
>social interaction happens on your terms and you're not bothered when you don't want to be
Get on my level
>it's all he plays
>300 hours
what a casual
If I play an extremely weeb game I might go offline.
that just means you don't like management games
it just feels nice when things work as planned
>not using gog to hide your shame
always
I used to on my 360 so my online friends wouldn't think I was a no life loser
>all of my friends kept developing their lives with marriage, children, careers, houses
>I am still a jobless virgin loser
>Delete everyone and cut all contact to avoid them asking me questions about my shitty life
>Steam blips you online when you sign out or put your PC in sleep mode
>add friends on steam
>they never talk to you
whats even the point
>add someone on steam
>they actually talk to you
You don't understand the true horror
>Steam still updates your last online time even when logging into offline status
>Updates it again when you logout
They always know!
I haven't logged in for over 7 month.
When I say I've said I quit a game but still go back to it every now and then for lewd mods
>they ask you to get on discord
why even have friends if you care about stupid shit like this?
can't be worse than when I go to a bar and some rando weird old dude wants to tell me his life story and the chick I was trying to talk to fucks off
Fairly often. I like playing vidya with no distractions
its not about hiding what you're playing but wanting to be left alone.
>old dude wants to tell me his life story
my achilles' heel
I don't have it in me to cut them short and carry on my way
almost always
tying video game purchases to gamer social networks is the fucking worst
it makes me pirate more
Always. I don't have any Steam friends at all.
I have no friends on Steam anymore so I don't bother with this.
Every once in a while but only because I have a friend who messages me every time I open a game so I do it if I'm playing an older game and I don't want to answer his questions about why I'm playing it.
>Friend family shares their games to me
>They're offline
>Get the notification that they're done playing a game and I can play one while they're offline
>They're the only person on Steam that I ever talk to
>friends
>steam
Never, I'm not a fag, all my friends know I'm into lolis
Protip: Disconnect the internet before starting steam then use offline mode when prompted. Won't get your cheevos (if you care about that) or anything but as long as you don't deliberately go online after reconnecting the internet, you won't leave a trace
when I tell my friends I need to go but in reality I just dont wanna play with them and I don't want to hurt their feelings
i have been animating porn in SFM while offline for the past few years
thousands of hours worth without anyone on my friends list knowing
Never. I'm steam friends with my brother and I still play weebshit. I even own some porn.
What name do you go by?
I sign out whenever I plan on opening up a Steam application rather than a game. I don't want to be bothered if I'm working on projects.
M-Me.
Only when I boot up a Bethesda game as all my friends are edgelord Sup Forumstards who have an irrational hatred for the company.
>playing without cheevos
>1k hours on Skyrim
How
almost everytime when i play alone. I'm kind of insecure about showing people what i do.
>tfw accidentally show all my friend i'm watching a lesbian jav on blackberry messenger back in high school
How do I stop steam from showing everyone how much time I spend playing games?
>all your friends moved on to different things
>the few who still come on are seldom online
I hate anyone who chastises anyone for playing a game over Steam directly. It's autistic and annoying.
What if it was a gift and you wanted to try it to be courteous?
What if you were morbidly interested and got it in a bundle or something?
What if you modded the ever living shit out of it?
Doesn't matter cause it's bad by proxy I guess.
When I'm feeling too depressed to even tell them I don't want to play.
Private profile helps
More than one person has asked me if I'm a 'Youtuber,' while we're in a party.
I like to think it's because I have a decent personality and it's not because YouTube fame has overtaken genuine interest in good games.
I don't have friends so I'm just always online.
Likewise. The problem with me is that sometimes that sometimes turns into 6 months of appearing offline
I haven't played a vidya in months
Often to hide my NEET powerlevel
When I want to play alone.
Which is about 80% of the time.
If I didn't have girls on my friends list I'd never be offline. I don't need them knowing I'm playing TDM while they're out fugging Chad on Saturday nights.
Probably the same way I put so many hours into FO4 and Skyrim, specifically mods. The games by themselves are undeniably shit but the beauty of them is that they're almost like clay in that you cam mould them into whatever kind of game you want with mods. The fact that the main story lines for them can be largely ignored kind of helps in that regard in that it lets you push the main story aside in favor of creating your own adventure.
Every so often when I don't feel like being bugged.
I only appear offline so i'm not spamming my friends with alerts when i'm constantly resetting a game to troubleshoot a bug
>tfw no steam friends
>still do this
How do you get steam friends if you only play single-player friends?
why have friends if you have to hide who you are/ what you play? They are not your friends.
I only do it when I'm playing certain multiplayer games that my literal autist friends always join me on
I only go offline if I'm actually going offline or want to fap
I don’t understand people that make posts like this. What’s the big deal if he enjoys that game so much? Who cares how many hours he has
autism
>How often do you play games in secrecy?
Since LAN game died and online only became the norm.
>300 hr in Fallout New Vegas
>okay
>400 hr in TES Skyrim
>.....
>2000 hr in Fallout 4
>REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I dunno mah man.
Whenever I'm in steam vr but I'm not in a game, I switch to offline for obvious reasons.
Pa

Often.
when I'm playing something I shouldn't be playing because I think it's bad but I can't be seen playing it because my friends know I think it's a bad game
so, rarely.
Only when my friends keep absolutely hounding me to play with them by calling me and spamming all chats. I figure they'd probably get pissed seeing me playing by myself.
I only add people when I need help with games then remove them.
>people on steam
>friends
kek
...
I deleted every friend and always go /busy when I play an mmo.
i used to hide my gameboy pocket under my pillow when i was little
>>leave games running in background constantly
I'm pretty sure at least 200 of my hours on TF2 come from this cause I kept alt-tabbing to shitpost and forgot about it
THIS
Only when I have to restart the game over and over again
