Games that were immediately forgotten

That game was too extreme as a plebfilter, even for Sup Forums
This piece of shit. Deserved to die too.
Years of pre-release shitposting burned everyone out
Did anything actually come out of Grimoire? Is it actually good?
>Didn't get into the threads soon enough
>Mfw trying to understand what the fuck was going on reading any of them once it was already too late
I felt like a newfag again
?SAPE?
...
Is the manual done yet?
Typical sape
nobody even released this past first few buggy versions
post-release shitposting too. Cleve hasn't released the manual yet. but he's still taking the time to respond to criticism on the steam forums.
I miss sape and thal posting
I miss GRIMWAH threads in general
well what was more interesting: a decades-old archaic dungeon-crawler Wizardry clone, or the shitpost threads uncovering Cleve's neanderthal conspiracy theories?
The latter obviously.
But the game was still pretty alright.
Level design is really good with lots of puzzles everywhere, you're always running into interesting and unique things that unexpectedly become important in solving something later on. There's also a great balance of silliness and humor that never becomes too obnoxious or overbearing. However, the combat is extremely unbalanced and a lot of stats don't seem to work properly. Maybe the dev will get around to fixing the issues one day, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
I think the core gameplay loop is fine, and the dungeon design is good. But my lord. the game is so poorly documented and half baked in some areas its insane.
Its like, the game is almost good, which is a miracle in itself, but the jump between almost good and good is never going to happen at this rate.
>the core gameplay loop
Why add loop?
>immediately forgotten
that would only be the case it the majority of people even took notice beyond "looks uninteresting" of it.
>3000 owners +- 1700
It's fun as fuck but way too hard for the retards who post here
because there is a difference.
But it doesn't make any sense.
Most singleplayer AAA games
Maybe the sapes forgot about it. True thals are still playing.
>casual fast paced Action RPG Fighting-ish game that wants to be Advent Children with a good 200-300 hours of single player content
>sequel removes the Action elements and the RPG elements and turns it into a pure fighting game
I had a lot of fun with this back then.
And even if this game gets discussed codex shitters show up and blow everything up.
This.
And for some strange reason, when the Kinect came out, I was apparently the only one to remember the Eye toy and say that the kinect was just a rip-off.
Eye toy was way better, cheaper, had great and RESPONSIVE games
the irony in this one
WHERE'S THE MANUAL CLEVE YOU FUCKING SAPE
Yeah, the balance in particular is pretty horrendous. A lot of the classes seem redundant or downright inferior to others, and unlike Wizardry you can't reclass.
People could make a better game in 7 days with unity.
I liked the window washing game because everybody could join in.
When am cleanin wind-ers
...
>tfw my Sapien hands are too weak to penetrate fire Beatles
> sapes have such shitty memory they already forgot about GOTY all year
I feel bad for sapes desu
Ironic.
Timbleweed park.
the art style was very good
You're wrong, son. Say your last words and try again.
It might have been more impressive if HR hadn't done the exact same mashup a few years earlier.
>that cover
>graphic design is my passion
I read that file name as def jam and was like "they made a new one?"
nigger
I forgot this even happened. Was it that unremarkable of a game?
...
I liked that game. Played it at release but dropped it due to IRL. I actually didn't forget it and finished it a couple years after.
I actually like the world in Remember Me more. Neo-Paris was a fresh take on cyberpunk stuff.
>that image
Only realfags know
It was basically just a port of Zenkai Battle Royale with some 'Battle of Gods' shit slapped onto it.
I still play it from time to time :'(
Terrible game design isn't a filter
Undeniably this
DEEDEE DAI ROOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Straight up murdered Volition.
But the floodgates it opened are just hitting now.
I'll never understand how anyone thought this was a good idea.
...
The industry is full of bad ideas.
forum.skylords.eu
yeah okay
I just remembered the original trailer
Its funny how Overwatch took off after that
Controls are terrible on PC.
Looks nice but thats all that game can offer.
Why is it so fucking expensive. I feel like that was a huge barrier to making the game somewhat successful. I have money and a job but I still didn't buy it because of that.
...
...
Because it took ages to develop by a single person and pays very good homage to a niche game audience?
Honestly I don't find the price a hurdle if you are looking a game like that since there probably wont be another one in another 10 years.
I do agree that its price for a digital copy is high but I would bay $40 for a physical copy.
The technology behind this was so simple I understood exactly how it worked even as a little kid and yet it was fun as heck.
Now the real question, why was the old guy's head a peanut?
I hope not. I enjoy it, just hoping it gets fleshed out more and starts gaining a community.
Then you must be a rarity, because the game doesn't appear to have sold very well. Lots of people like the genre, look at grimrock.
Those are two entirely different games.
Just because bunch of autists were ready on the trigger to stir controversy it doesnt mean its a bad game.
Its not like the author was expecting to sell millions of copies and it was indeed sold to those looking for a game like that namely 40yo dudes looking for a flashback.
Unlike most modern PC games, Grimoire is a labor of love, not a cash in. He's only interested in selling to people interested enough to pay the price.
Eye toy was good shit.
I pirated it to see how it was
It was one of the most confusing games I've ever played.
The game needs a fucking manual but the spastic insisted on "waiting a few more months for it to be complete" after he said it would be done in a week.
It was forgotten because it was some meme game.
Nope. It was just some con
It doesn't need a manual that badly. It makes a lot of traditional design choices that experienced RPG players can easily figure it out.
No, it actually does need the manual. The dev (are you him) actually stated it's not beatable without the manual.
And the week early release was done only for testing.
If he said that he was wrong. I don't know what he based that claim on.
He based it on the whole "it's been in the making for ten years, you need the manual, blah blah"
It's not unbeatable, i managed to beat the game without a manual. The combat gets stupidly simple halfway through and the puzzles are mostly intuitive with only a couple being very hard and vague like the mechanical owl puzzle.
>You can kill a boss before fighting it by solving it's riddles
That was pretty satisfying
>Is leading to global drama that will change the face of gaming
This game will never be forgotten.
>plebfilter
Actually, no, once you get how it works, mechanics just completely implode, quite similar to the way they do in Vagrant Story, when you discover how to YOLO it.
To the point, almost, when it plays much more like some kind of metroidvania with item-based progression, than proper RPG.
I loved the beta but don't think it has any population.
...
is that panthro from thundercats
lmao
i still can't stop laughing at the people who took the sapepill
Post his codex post about becoming an emotionless colossus of meat and muscle, cracking the sidewalks with his steps.
The puzzles were the pleb filter. I've got a stack of notes the size of a small book from the 90 hours it took to get through the game.
>it plays much more like some kind of metroidvania with item-based progression, than proper RPG.
It plays exactly like a RPG from that era. You are confusing RPG with J"RPG"s.
nu/v/ is getting really dumb.
anyone remember these? I dont
I remember disgaea 5 on the ps4.
>even for Sup Forums
You mean the board where the most talked games are overwatch and Steam top sellers?
I would've bought this Day 1 if it was on GOG. As it stands, I put it on my favorites list in Steam and will pick it up at some point.
I mean, you get mana-regen quest item, you start putting Armorplate on youself every minute, so now there are 10+ highest level armorplates stacked on you at any moment and those instadeath wasps stop connecting completely. You gain another one, the same goes for Magic Screens. Characteristics generally don't mean jack shit, a couple of skills do (like Music and Lethal Weapon). Scout doesn't mean jack shit, you just keep DetectSecret on at all times. Diplomacy doesn't mean jack shit, you just charm every NPC then stealing all their quest-related shit. Halcyon Lyre, before gimped, changed the game completely upon its disvovery. The whole deal with quest items is they generally don't have any significant restrictions, while also being good to the point of being gamechangers. That's why the game is extremely skewed towards item-based progression, because new items really do allow you to do cool shit, simple stat and skill raises do not. Also, best spells? Also items placed ar strategic places, like that Hathor Sogg temple.
Yes, I see a GOTY and a lot of runner ups
man, i really want Super Bomberman R but I know the online is gonna be dead as shit by now
It was a good game actually, sad it was forgotten so fast.
Yes, I know about all shortcomings, I just say that despite them it was good and pretty fun
