THEY'RE NOT GAMES, THEY'RE INTERACTIVE MOVIE

THEY'RE NOT GAMES, THEY'RE INTERACTIVE MOVIE
GET YOUR FUCKING MOVIES AND INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCES OUT OF MY GAMES
STOP RUINING MY HOBBY

but it is a game because there are rules and a goal

Hey man, Sam & Max was too a game

There's no GAMEplay
So its not a GAME

but it is a game because it says telltale GAMES

Why does it matter if they're games or not?

Its encourages casual shitters to call themselves "gamers" and reduce the quality of games overall

the gameplay is QTEs and baby puzzles though

>Its encourages casual shitters to call themselves "gamers"
Why does it matter?
>reduce the quality of games overall
Because you say so?

>gameplay
>Barely any way to fail, any challenge or overall reason to try more than none at all
Thats not a game its a job

Didn't they start out making point and click adventures and over time get closer and closer to the western version of visual-novels? I mean, I don't HATE visual-novels, but it's not something I actively seek, and enjoy it for reasons that have nothing to do with it being a game. Eg.) Danganronpa

More casual players->more games marketed toward casual gamers->more casual games->overall quality more casual

This is simple stuff are you stupid/underage?

>Why does it matter?
because you suck dick
>Because you say so?
no, because the people with taste say so

You could say the same thing about animal crossing but that's still a game.

Don't buy them.
Don't play them.

See >Time management

Not the same

take your crazy pill

You have all that in in telltale games too

there's no knowledge
that's not power

Video Games are a commercial product. They cater towards the biggest audience with the most money.
Just because you're not part of that audience anymore doesn't mean that ever changed.
Play the games you like and don't play the ones you don't like. You have no right to video games being made how you like them. Enjoy what you have and stop pretending the world revolves around you.

I can understand raging against lootboxes and microtransactions because those could be ruining actual, real video games. But it's not like the people putting out storygame garbage would be doing anything worthwhile anyway

>you're not allowed to complain about things that you don't like because it means complaining about profit
Free market means free speech you fucking kike, if you're going to be jewish, people are going to point out your massive fucking nose.

>let the jews do what they want
Kys goyim

>mfw TWAU season 2 is in the works

Can't wait for them to fuck it up.

The kind of developers who follow popular trends weren't going to make anything groundbreaking in the first place. I prefer it if they stick to copying genres I don't care about in the first place. It makes it easier to filter them out.

They are easy platina. So even though I like more gameplay-oriented games I never complain about telltales because of trophyfaggotry.

out of all the people in this thread you are the biggest faggot
congradulation

They're point and click adventure games with no puzzles and lots of cutscenes.

Their games are not a successor to P&Cs of old. They're really just an alternate evolutionary path that games like Fahrenheit enabled even earlier.

games =/= movie
or i can sell apples as oranges and no one can say shit about this

>m-muh useless throphies
top brainlet

I mean, I don't really like Telltale games, but he has a point. There is a target audience for their games and we're not it, that's all he said. Don't see what's off with it.

I mean, I don't really like Telltale games, but he has a point. There is a target audience for their games, whether or not you like them or see them as games is something else entirely.

Visual novels are games too.

Yes, and free market principles dictate, we, as consumers, have every right to complain that we are not the target audience, as well as to insult the target audience that they have chosen to pander to.

Much like apple products are made for people with a sub 80 IQ, telltale products are not vidya made to pander to people who want to pretend they play vidya.
And free market principles dictate I can call them stupid fags, and they can do nothing about this.

A telltale game is unironically more of a game then life is trash.

Kys

Visual novels are games, but telltale "games" aren't.
VNs actually have more gameplay than them, simply because they have actual failstates and bad ends.

You're free to say whatever you want. Won't change the fact people still buy them. It's no secret Telltale's "secret sauce" is just getting the rights to popular IPs. Doesn't change the fact they have a target audience.

>IM RETARDED!
Ok jeez relax dude

In batman the hulk can crash your skull if you failed the fight and you will be thrown to the last checkpoint. If it isn't failstate then what is it? And by the way, what is 'failstate' in point and click adventures?

And that target audience is objectively inferior to every single poster on Sup Forums
I'm glad we agree.

They're practically visual novels. But with the occasional forced walk-around segments where they pretend like they're actually adventure games.

>VNs actually have more gameplay than them, simply because they have actual failstates and bad ends.
There are plenty of kinetic VNs too.

>Daedalic is doing this shit now too
>except they're not even financially succesful
>still killing off their actual point and clicks with this trash
I am so mad
SO MAD

What is deadalic?

Daedalic Entertainment, one of the few good dedicated point and click studios still left.
Until recently when they started pushing out Telltale-lite garbage. (which they basically admit isn't selling as well)
Hopefully the owner's new breakoff studio he made to make some game is a real point and click.

Daedalic has gone to shit. They cancelled The Devil's Men.

nobody buys their games anymore. new batman has laughable 60k sales since last summer

Problem with Telltale's games is they're literally just re-skinning the same shit and hoping source material can carry the final product. TWD have seen steady decline because you can realistically only play the MUH EMOTIONS card once and they did it with Lee.

I am aware.
I wasn't one of the people super-hyped about it but it is a telltale (kek) sign of the studio's direction.

Carlos would be proud.

I-it's fun so it's game?

Yeah, because the whole "I'm a gamer" movement flocks to TT games. Also: quality of games overall =/= the types of games you want to see.
