problem here? you are on top of the trees. Same thing as in bloodborne

>climbs down a tree
wtf how am i at the bottom of the tree makes no sense

You can see Ash Lake from Tomb of the Giants.

>top
>bottom

Also, DS2 would be fixed if devs had the elevator go down instead.
Also It could be that you're going up into a volcano and the Iron Keep was made on top of what they thought was a mountain when building it.

Anyway, this post will be disregarded as shitposting, but this is what I actually believe.

And today the dark souls 2 brainlet learns the difference between deliberate artistic choices and outright laziness.

Space is convoluted or something

The trees in DS1 are giant world trees, Lordan is basically built on a bunch of branches.

Is playing through DS2 necessary to understand the story or certain characters in DS3?

when I said top I meant for the most of the game you are on top of trees. Other user said when you climb down that one tree you are on the bottom. This is why one said top and one said bottom. It's not so complicated

Nope

So it's deliberately stupid instead of accidentally stupid?

How many times are there going to be posts like this?

Why does everyone hate this area again? It's not a hard walk, just a long one.

Demon's Souls is more required as it references it more than Dark Souls 1.

Dark Souls 2 is required to understand a few invaders, part of Karla's identity, some characters referenced in items and the Drang mercenaries. So, not really.

>das2 brainlet
>being able to learn
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

not really, it provides some filler lore if you complete dark souls beforehand but it can be played as a stand alone

no but it is necessary to play a better game than ds3

These games don't have stories for christ sake man. Just lore. It has lore.

Which hasn't really affected how the games tie together.

Dark Souls 2 doesn't fill that criteria.

No, just skip 2 its complete trash.

sometimes the hydra will start using his water attack when you're still too far away to duck under it, and it makes it really hard to get down to the shore because once he realizes that it's working he never stops using it.

lmao

Where does ds3 reference des

...

Suck my 9

The DS2 we got to play was a butchered, borderline cancelled and duct taped together abomination of the game they originally wanted to make.

Dark souls world is incoherent to us, but coherent in-universe as you can see where everything is positioned as you traverse it, lordran is built atop the archtrees so you se more and more branches as you descent to blightown first and trought the great hollow later. Also if you descent trough the catacombs and reach tomb of giants you can se the ash lake and izalith from there

>Same thing as in bloodborne

That’s not confirmed

>Same thing as Bloodborne.
Please, delve into this headcanon.

i dont need dev confirmation for what i can figure out with my own mind

you can see the trees same as you can from ashy lake

>I don't need confirmation or reasonable evidence to corroborate my batshit crazy claim because I'm smart enough to get reach the conclusion on my own.
Damn, I'm glad this retard shit is easily dismissed.

Where precisely in BB?

in the hub retard

its not very hidden, have you guys played the game

all the dreams exist in the same physical realm, just far apart. Possibly each is on its own tree. But you can see them from eachother. It also fits in with lovecraft mythos, all dreams are actually just transportation to a different location

>when the game I like do it, it's a deliberate artistic choice
>when the game I dislike do it, its outright laziness
If you want to see a brainlet, you need only look in a mirror.

These are just sticks though, they don't even look like the trees in das1

these trees are also in Demon's Souls
Archtrees are a thing in many mythos but they're included in other FromSoft titles

They obviously have not.
But to be fair in bloodborne is not clear the world is atop the trees, is just a dream version o ghermans workshop

it's a different type of tree to reflect the victorian setting, when those types of trees had become more popular than the type we see in the middle ages

ANd the moonlight greatsword is also in Armored core. Secret connection to Bloodborne confirmed???

Could all of those arch trees in Ash Lake be pathways to other video game worlds?

wtf is under the branches though? A planet of some sort? Mars?

Youre under a fucking swamp man, it's still retarded as fuck
also: Blighttown is pitch black and at the lake you see sun from the "sky"

Nop, there's a sky in Ironkeep aswell, wouldn't have been any better to go down

No, I believed you were going to show off the Hunter's Dream, but I just couldn't believe you would be this patently stupid. The Hunter's Dream has little basis in reality beyond being similar to the Workshop, and unsurprisingly the real Workshop has no arch trees in it and they can't be found anywhere else in the game. These arch trees (if they're even trees at all) are entirely a construct of Gherman's and more than likely a simple nod to Ash Lake.

They tell you right at the beginning of the game, it's an unformed world world full of gray crags and archtrees.

But I have, I just genuinely wondered if someone was this stupid and maybe there was some other evidence he was talking about, but no, it was the fucking """trees""" in the Hunter's Dream.

see

that doesnt make any sense, the fuck

"archtrees" my ass, there has gotta be something solid that the archtrees are rooted in. Soil and moisture and sunlight from stars and shit

Pure headcanon.

you can literally see one dream in the distance from another dream

When you say "possibly each on it's own tree", you spiral off into headcanon.

>Every area in DaS1 connects perfectly, except for this one weird and magical area hidden.
>No area in DaS2 connects coherently, and one in particular made so little sense it became one of the most brought negative points about the game
But of course, the smart people are the ones defending das2

That's just the base state of the world in the game. If that sounds like a kookie ass legend; it's because it is. It's all true in the fantasy world of Dark Souls.

There's no legends about floating lava keeps to my knowledge though.

i fucking love dark souls 2.

The pvp was great, the base game was decent but the DLC was top tier. it was good guys, about up there with DS3 for me personally

>There's no legends about floating lava keeps to my knowledge though.
in some user's desperate headcanon, it sure is

well it'd be weird if they shared their own tree as they appear to be too close for that

yggdrasil you dope

I still remember that thread where a member of the DaS2 defense squad was unironically arguing that the transition to Iron Keep was meant to represent the player character's incoherent state of mind due to hollowing.

What? I always thought each of the pillar had a workshop at the top and represented other hunters dreams.

There's no evidence any of them are on any trees.

...

Well, pre-PC DS1 dipshits also tried to justify the framerate in Blighttown with that it represents the player character's fear of going down there.

>talking shit about the coolest area in the game

just tired of seeing the constant hate for it user. it kept me entertained longer than DS3, especially the pvp arena. most of the faults are extremely exaggerated

y-you think they are under the trees? kek at you

>it makes sense in my game, because magic
>this magic does of course not apply to the game I dislike, or to its world structure, even though magic is abundant in it
You're just embarrassing yourself at this point.

I already knew what you meant, stop cementing my disgust

Lordran is really high up .You can look from Firelink and see that there's an actual real world and you're high up in the sky.

I never thought those were trees, I thought those were all stone pillars with each one representing a hunter's dream.

I've been a dark souls 2 apologist for years, its my favorite souls game if not tied with bloodborne and I've never thought of this. Gonna remember this next time I have to argue about it. Godspeed brother.

thats some shitty headcanon there. They dont even look like stone. And is there even any reference to there being so many other hunters dreams?

if there werent clouds there you would have a point. But there are and you dont

>the only reason people hate das2 is because of the shitty world
no, it's because the gameplay is shit.

Yes, yes. Well done, DS1 brainlet, well done, DS1 brainlet. However...

The clouds are besides the point. Both Ash Lake and Iron Keep have clouds and are on endless plains. The difference is that Ash Lake is said to be an endless and formless land while Iron Keep is just some random fortress.

what fucking story?
you could call the 3 games completely different and it wouldn't matter (and most likely they would be better since they wouldn't need to improve upon the previous game)

...

now retake the shot with the camera tilted up more and show us what you are knowingly obscuring, asshole

Nice.

Yes, the game multiplayer mechanic, it has always been a part of the souls lore, so the fact that those dimensions crossed in the dream realm seemed pretty plausible to me.

Also they look like stone to me, and the way they stop abruptly and don't fade in the clouds mean we can actually see the top. since there is absolutely nothing around the workshop, it's not crazy to assume the hunter dream is on top of a similar pillar.

multiplayer stuff doesnt count for canon it's just multiplayer
