The UI was terribly slow and having to close everything just to open system settings is just offensive.
Game library is the worst of any Nintendo Handheld, being able to play older gens doesn't count cause I can do that with a DS light too, which is also better designed and more compact. I only got a 2DS because Monster hunter was trapped on the 3DS, nothing else was that special.
Meanwhile the DS had too many good games to even count, same for the GBA.

Worst offense was being increadibly underpowered for the time of release, the PSP came out 7 years before and was more powerful.

I like Nintendo but they completely deserved the massive drop in sales compared to the DS.

Got a 3DS this year to finally play through it's library. So far I have beat:

And I'm still playing:

I'm looking for games with good writing, or at least strong casts, and RPGs. Any suggestions? I was thinking of playing Bravely Default next.

Radiant Historia is breddy good so far, although I am only halfway through the story so I can't tell you anything more concrete. You should still check it out though.

Are you sure they're random? I played it on visual boy advance more than 10 years ago and it only slows during high performance areas like the larger battle animations (ragnarok, acheron's grief).

Well not completely random I guess, but sometimes whenever a dialog pops up it slows down a bit which is really fucking annoying as it fucks with the sound. Along with the heavy visuals.

I have, I'm one of very few on the site who enjoyed the game greatly. So far from the demo, the Alliance Alive is looking great, although I miss the 3D a bit and having the library tower replace the encyclopedia is odd.
Very different tone, a good one but different.
More dialogue and interaction, which is in contrast to TLoL's lack of dialogue or explicit character story beyond the endings.
Much larger world, and despite the different enemy models, the Ghost models seem to function identically to the spirit orb model enemies in TLoL in that they're blind unless you make noise by running by them, and the beasts just chase you rather than charging this time.

I never liked the two screens setup, but the GBA, DS and 3DS are a combo of insanely amazing library.

I have tried trio of towns and while the game overall feels fun and comfy, the farming itself feels extremely casualized and streamlined. The plantations patch are all pre defined and i can't play whenever i want. Unless it changes later...?

It's only good after you hack it. Without homebrew it is easily the worst, but with homebrew it's the best because it can play the others.

I haven't played ToT yet, but RF4's farming is very basic. Probably not the best recommendation if he doesn't like RPGs.

You have to be a fanboy to believe that game was truly good, what's more is that game has been ported to almost every system stronger than the old brick that is the 3DS.

I find the analog stick and edges of the device fine. The bad nubbin on the New XL isn't good though.

Recently got one. What games should a non-weeaboo look for? I'm not going to like stuff just because there's qt girls in it, I need more than that to enjoy a game.

I entirely agree. It's literally only comfortable to use when just using the d-pad and face buttons, holding it one-handed for the stylus, having to use the thumbstick, or regularly tapping the shoulder buttons all feel poor

What XL are you using? The edges on mine are smoothed and comfortable enough, I've not seen a sharp edge or rough corner since my beat up GBA SP.

I got 80's Overdrive already, fell in love with it as soon as I saw the screenshots on the eShop. Played a lot of Top Gear back in the day.

I'll look into the others. Heard about most of them, but never played any. I recently finished Link's Awakening (something cheap from the eShop while I was waiting for other games to arrive) and pretty much hated it. Nothing special at all. I'm told Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are the best in the series, so I'll give those two a chance. If I don't like those, I'll forever shit on Zeldafags.
