Solidus was never a villain, he's just the game's antagonist.

It's weird. They played him up like the perfect clone of Big Boss, but he just failed to live up. In the end, he was just a mimicry of Liquid and Big Boss with none of their lasting impact.

Had Solidus won the only thing that would really have changed is that the world would go to hell sooner and with more casualties. He wasn't fighting for people, he was fighting for keeping his own name in history.

The whole game was a disappointment but this was just straight-up false advertising. You don't even fight half of them.

Honestly the weakest part of the game. It had nothing to do with the actual plot and it just felt like the writers wanking themselves off because they read a few theories about information overload. Its also stupidly delivered because Solidus is standing right next to you the whole time and that call lasts for a good like 20 minutes.
