Team based competitive FPS or MOBAs. Use voice chat to talk to your team/squad and if you work well together you can have a great time and might group up in the future again. "Random" matchmaking actually helps to get in touch with people you otherwise wouldn't have met and you then just have to be yourself. Once you find a likeminded person and get along the rest happens by itself.

You could also try co-op games as those make it easy to connect with others through a common ground/goal. There are also social deducation game like Town of Salem or Throne of Lies for weird online interaction and limited RP.
