I blame Takaki for being absolutely incompetent. He literally changed the story in ReBurst becasue he said it was originally "too dark". The talk about Yagyu murdering random Hebi students is gone, for example. On top of that, the new Miyabi and Yumi stories directly contradict SV/EV/SK2.

Refle already sold more than 50k and PBS did great last year. This time people actually got tired of having the same thing for the third time without even a new story to justify it.
Takaki needs to finally gets his shit together and actually produce something better than just mediocre for 7.

I haven't gotten into the Yagyu part, but so far the story is 1:1 with nothing changed.

What does the Yumi one contradicts? If it's about Naraku appearing that could have been well after Kagura got out of the orb. And Miyabi one ended up being some sort of mental trip so Kagura's appearance isn't that farfetched either.

I'm glad that SK is dying honestly. I loved the series since I was introduced to Burst two years ago. I liked a lot of the girls and their interactions especially in Burst and SK2 (especially Yagyuu and Mirai's), the fanservice wasn't as shoved in your face as it is now. It felt like a bonus really. Now, a lot of the girls are flanderized, there's nothing new these days, characters I liked are getting from cute/cool to unbearable (Murakumo and Homura), Gessen is getting shoved in your face because of Yumi, etc. I don't even have my hopes up for SK7 because it doesn't seem like Takaki understands his audience very much. I feel bad for the people who still support this series and will buy Reburst if it comes here. Save your money.

He does, which is why the series sold pretty well between SV and PBS/Refle, and also why the popular characters are the ones used the most on publicity, that Yumi isn't liked as much in the west is an entirely different matter.
It's undeniable that Re:Newal as a product doesn't offer anything new besides 2 short extra stories, which is probably why its sales were so low in the first place, but this might be beneficial to the future of the franchise. I wouldn't mind at all if 7 gets delayed until next year.

So what if its delayed. They're still gonna use the same models and keep the story dumbed down and simple. Maybe even MORE dumbed down, based on that recent interview.

They are currently solidifying their ideas for 7, so a delay would make sense, and hopefully be for the best. Re:Newal seems like it's just here to fill the gap for the time being and tell the story for those who never played Burst..

They most likely didn't even waste that much money on the production of Re:Newal, so even with 20k sales it probably still made the profit from all the special editions, and there's New Link too, which last I checked was doing fine too (though it went down on revenues last event), so money is not an excuse to make a better product this time around.

That's why I'm not concerned abut Re:Newal's sales. Hopefully 7 exceeds most expectations.
