Chiseled looks are going to be considered “handsome” everywhere, but because we mostly see them in our culture, ie hollywood, we associate chiseled looks with whiteness. So characters don’t necessarily look “white” or “asian” because no race can own a look.

Wutai is not Japan, it’s wutai. There is no Africa in FFVII and yet barett IS black. Tifa is as asian as Yuffie.
