>there are people that defend this piece of shit healing system
why?
>there are people that defend this piece of shit healing system
why?
what's wrong with it?
it ok
>this thing is a piece of shit
>no further explanation required
>no argument presented
>PEOPLE DEFEND THIS, LOL FUCKING GARBAGE
nice thread
Not having to defend =/= defending. Shits fine, yo.
It's better than any menu healing bullshit. Worst parts about Skyrim and Breath of the Wild.
Healing system? What about rolling like sonic while wearing an heavy armor?
Name a single healing system that's better than dark souls 1 estus besides zandatsu in metal gear rising.
git gud you fucking shitter
...
Go eat a wall of dicks.
I think its a very interesting way of creating difficulty, because it requires the player to not just get good at fighting the boss at the end but get good at clearing the level up to the boss in a way that maximizes estus conservation, because you want to have as much estus as you can going into the boss. Constantly choosing between choosing to take that chug or waiting until you take another hit so you can get the full use of the estus (which is risky since you could get combod after that first hit and die) adds to the tension and fun of traversing through a souls level
>Exact same premise as Estus except you need to farm them if you run out
Amazing
Genius
Fantastic
I-i can't git gud... Game is fucking hard. I'm too old to ask a friend to teach me how to play and I'm not sure what to do about the Taurus Demon. I'm generally good at games, why is this giving me trouble? I just don't understand how the fighting/defense system works I guess. It's like you can't avoid taking hits and can't block attacks. Anyone have any tips or whatever?
>inb4 gut gud
Because they fucking love rolling and hate shields. In DeS, if you spent too much time trying to master roll timings on enemies, you would get fucked which either forced you to use limited healing items or changed world tendency with you dying. This situation made shields strong, especially since chip damage through not-100%-damage-reduction shields could easily be healed with the shitty Crescent Moon Grass that cost nothing. But since people fucking love rolling, they like DaS1's system where nothing stops you from spamming heals or dying over and over to the same enemy so you can learn roll timings.
Essentially, Estus ruined the series.
At least shit players aren't gifted them each time they die
Estus is for people afraid of a challenge
Vials are for people ready to fuck shit up.
Dodge roll to avoid taking hits
Block attacks to block attacks
Congrats you can beat Dark Souls now
Maybe he's more talking about the other part of Bloodborne's healing system, where you jump in and keep attacking to get your health back when you take damage. Otherwise it's pretty much a toned-down version of Demon's Souls where everyone's cramming massive amounts of easily farmable grass in their mouth.
>running out when you can get ralley your hp back
>running out when enemies drop them frequently
Roll through the attacks instead of rolling away from them.
agreed
grass was better
Didn't you have a limited amount of vials you could carry with you or am i just remembering?
Probably the most solid, and close to flawless healing systems. Sure, it isn't exactly exciting, but that is honestly the biggest flaw I can think of. This thread is either bait, or some salty shitter.
What wrong with it?
What does it taste like?
You sure know how to spot irony. Not him by the way.
because you need to kill yourself
>you can't avoid taking hits
Rolls have invincibility frames, you can dodge pretty much anything with good timing.
>and can't block attacks.
Get a good shield with 100% physical block, and don't just just run around holding it up all the fucking time because your stamina won't recover for shit. Put it up to block hits and drop it in-between blocks.
Yeah, that's why it's toned-down.
Yep. Though 20 vials is more than enough for anyone who knows what he's doing. Hell, it's too generous honestly.
Well he's doing a really shitty job of being sarcastic if that's what's going on.
He started the post with a stutter and a meme. How much more obvious do you need it to be? Do you think people stutter when they type?
No I don't.
Good save.
Yes, I see people do that all the fucking time, especially when they're embarrassed to admit something.
post video of your no estus run
sorry i dont play bad games
Horse semen.
Well, you found a batch of weirdos. Either way, he was being sarcastic.
>bad games
why do you play babbyborne then fag
You haven't been on this site very long, have you? And I still say he was being genuine because of all the shit he said after that.
its a good game
>You haven't been on this site very long, have you?
Ok, you're just baiting.
>gifted
If you die you just go back to where you were. Nothing gifted about it.
Souls
>die 10000000000 times
>get gifted estus to continue trying
Bloodborne
>die more than 1000 times
>no longer given vials to continue trying
>game actually telling you that you are shit and should give up or actually practice before trying again
>try again
>fail again
>get handicapped again
Wow I sure feel like one of the big boys now.
>or actually practice before trying again
how do you practice a bossfight without fighting the boss?
why do you die more than 1000 times on a boss?
I'm not a shitter like you so i wouldn't know
>trying to claim that DeS's healing system where you can farm and stack 99 grass is less casual than Estus
It's pretty standard one button healing.
The real question is which is better:
>Stop 'n swig
or
>Aide 'n amble
Whiskey
they're functionally identical as far as I'm concerned. you get punished for healing at the wrong time because the enemy attacks were designed with your movement in mind.
DaS enemies have slower attacks that lock onto your position early, thus you can't move when you heal
DaS3 enemies have more dynamic movesets and can change their attack direction with subsequent attacks, meaning your slow walk is irrelevant because it's too slow to avoid attacks if you heal at the wrong time.
You stop and actually think for a second. Check your other weapons. Maybe explore a different area in the meantime ot chalice dungeon. If you aren't a total dumbass you might even reflect on the hunt itself.
>If you aren't a total dumbass you might even reflect on the hunt itself.
>Making fun of Estus healing mechanic instead of “it’s all good, I have 98 more of this left” grass and gems
>no longer given vials to continue trying
>git gud
>kill the boss with 0 vials
>not taking a break from the game to meditate and image train against the boss in your mind for 8 hours so you can beat it ezpz on your next attempt
Yeah, it's so challenging to go back to a older area to farm to get enough souls or get enough vials to continue the boss.
That's not practising and you know it
im image training your mom right now
And Vials always heal for 40% of your max hp no matter what, So low vigor builds get fucked because they need to chug, and high vigor builds Still need to use 3 to get to full health.
In DS3 they heal a set amount and can easily be nearly a full heal even on 40 vigor builds thanks to Estus ring
OP just wants timed healing like the one in Uncharted or Gears of War, what an asshole
