Did you like it? I’ve only played some of it

Did you like it? I’ve only played some of it.

It was a solid game, could've been longer, story felt unfinished. but nevertheless, it was good

>It was a solid game
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Yes.

The first MGS game with tolerable gameplay.

Of course, Kojima fanboys dislike it.

shit story, fun gameplay.

I like 3 the best.

Good game, not a mgs game though

>Did you like it? I’ve only played some of it

same. i played a few levels then got sick of it and moved on to something else. gameplay was ok. i wasnt interested in upgrading my gear or building motherbase at all. the story wasnt compelling enough to keep me playing.

Yeah, it pretty good

I love it. Played almost 200 hours in September 2015. Lost a lot of sleep at release.
It's far from perfect but it's the most fun I've had with a game in a very long time.

One of the best third person shooters ever

It had a great gameplay. The story was sort of there.

>2 hours in a hospital crawling, staying still, crawling, hiding, and cutscenes of anime shit
its fucking shit

No reason to play it now that survive is out, since it is an improvement in pretty much every way

>2 hours out of a 500+ hour game

lmao

>anime shit
What?

>be me
>get MGSV:PP
>first mgs game
>love it
>start losing interest, comeback to it later, start losing interest come back.... (repeats a few times)
>hit mission 46
>cant progress
>google it, turns out its a bug to do with quiet and a previous mission
>finish almost every non-story mission and sidemission
>too late in the game to start over so i can get that precious lore
>tfw

>now only play it sometimes for MGS:O

You should play the others, my man.

i know i know

but i dont keep my old consoles :/

Survive came out so rules dictate it's a good game now.

MGS = Good brand
MGS:Survive = Good game

>the beginning is suppose to be shit
fuck off

nah, got bored of it after 500+ hours.

>I have ADD

okay

I just dont want 2 hours of crawling, hiding, and playing dead in a hospital user.

Be honest, Sup Forums.

How bad is the ending?
Is it satisfying or did it really feel like they've left a big chunk out of it?

I have 300 hours in it, and I've barely touched fobs
I love it

AND you've never played a metal gear game before?

first 2

Eh. It's boring as fuck. Way too much time is just traversing through a empty desert.

just bring Dhorse

Not as good as was hyped.

Ultimately better than what people were saying after release.

Yes and no. I am creativly bankrupt in stealth action games with humanoid ai and often go for the most optimal way. Did a stealth centric char, did a unsilenced automatic weapons playthrough (really fucking boring) and an explosive playthrough (most fun)

Working on platinum. It's addictive as fuck and like doing challenges

I usually go hybrid.
Stealth approach until I get busted and have to rely on heavier weaponry.
I'm not very patient and just crawling around forever isn't my style.

This. I think the tools are cool but i never found use for them since at no point well placed shot or granade couldnt do the same job but better

>you can beat the shit out of kids

How did konami get away with this?

The plot twist itself wasn't bad, it's the unfinished story that makes it so.
I believe that MGSV needed at least 2 more chapters to close the loop: Eli's Kingdom of the Flies, and the Outer Heaven Uprising from Venom's point of view (with Solid Snake as the final boss).

Yes and she is Dark Boa.

That's her name btw. Not racist.

it's actually only 45 minutes but you'll ignore this comment

Everything about it was fanfuckingtastic. Even the story, fuck all the haters. I'll shit down your assholes. There was nothing wrong with the story.

Complete garbage, almost zero story and a bland and empty open world. Metal Gear stopped being good after 2

Both of those are unneeded and would make the story worse. All you need is a blurb about how Eli and the child soldiers get picked up by the US in the timeline reel at the end of mission 46.

There's almost 6 hours of story cutscenes. And 6 more hours of cassette tape story.

The story is there. You might not like it and it might have been spread out over 50+ hours, but it's there.

Thinking of getting this, but am I going to miss out on story things if I've not played an MGS before?

It might be confusing, but thats just how MGS is

Love hate relationship - with infinite heaven mod it's fun. Without it then you can tell the devs had a half-assed game.

With that said, editing it so it's max difficulty, increasing vision/hearing of guards and giving yourself only D-Horse makes it pretty fun.

The main story will be perfectly understandable but bits and pieces will be confusing as fuck and only pique your interest. It would be pretty cool to play through the story backwards coming in blind imo. Starting with 5 and finding out more and more in the other games. Seeing the characters in a different light. Imo.

Extra cassette tap shit doesn't count, the games base story was poorly written and extremely disappointing even by Kojima standards. The twist was a shitty meme, skullface was a joke, Big Slosh has about 20 lines of dialogue total, and don't get me started on the cut content. It's not entirely trash though, Robin Atkin downes gives one of the best performances in vidya history as Kaz.

Your opinion doesn't count.

Hi David

RAD was better in PW and GZ

I played it for over 800 hours, so yeah, you might say I liked it.

I played some of this game then stopped and didn't pick it up for about a year
And then a few months ago I picked it back up and ran through it. Beat the game and everything. Was fun. Now, give me mgs3 in that engine with that game play.

It's one of the best games ever made and the standard on how to make a proper third person shooter. Really, this game's controls and camera are insanely good.

>Extra cassette tap shit doesn't count
Wrong.

FOBs are the only time the game is good. It's the only time it actually feels like a MGS game or like Ground Zeroes. Everything just comes together there unlike the main game. Should've been tinkered with more and just made that MGO3

you're thinking of survive, that's the one kojima fanboys hate

what game is that?

what? that hospital part was 15-20 minutes

Metal Gear Survive, not that user but I like it too. Think of it like a total conversion mod or an expansion to metal gear 5.

it was a literal "it gets good at 20+ hours game" for me, once I got the jist of base building and fultoning the world I enjoyed it

>mentions intro like they didnt get further
>2 hour
lol

Is there anything in V that I should ignore to make the gameplay more fun? 3 was 10x better when I decided to stop using the tranq gun

I had fun but the missing content left me feeling dead inside.

Gay post

Im replaying it now, full new save, i've barely been fultoning anyone and playing it like an action movie. Not trying to get great soldiers and gear, using quiet to tacticool take out soldiers after i fuck up and then going to town with grenades rockets gadgets. I still carry the tranq to get specific targets I want or sometimes i legit feel bad about killing a guy by himself and just let him go to sleep.

maybe on a speed run.

Ignore giving a shit about the score. Play however the fuck you want. Replay the missions for S ranks and secondary mission tasks. Speed bonuses are so lenient that you can be in a firefight the entire mission and still get an S rank if you're fast enough or complete enough secondary tasks. For example, "Back Up Back Down" is a guaranteed S rank if you eliminate all the vehicles, tanks and the gunship even if you're in combat alert the entire time.

Also to add, listening to tapes while you are on mission, pause and rewind when someone talks over it.
And dont waste your silencer, when you get alerted take that bitch off and start gunning people down. Then when you go back to sneaking put it back on, little tip.

nigga just emulate them

The twist was predicted when ground zeroes was released on PC, possibly even before then, which goes to show how weak and poorly done it was.

After thousands of speculation threads with every frame of every second of content examined and every single piece of code in GZ datamined and screencapped and spread in the thousands of threads.

dont fool yourself into thinking you're not allowed to kill people
but you should still be ghosting people, holding them up and fulton at every oppourtunity

challenge mode: start a new game and actually do what Kaz and chiper are asking rather than extracting the main mission objs, become demon nuclear snake.
fair warning though, im anti nuke., you FOB is going to be robbed.

1 and 2 have PC ports.
Emulate 3.
Watch 4 on Youtube.
Emulate PW.

It's not because of those things. It's very comparable to Arkham Knight which also had all of those things, because both plot twists were blatantly apparent to anyone with a correctly functioning brain.

Venom not being Big Boss wasn't the point of the twist and goes to show how little most of you use your brains.

It needed a lot more variation in gameplay and the story's unfinished but it's one of my favourite games for the PS4.

I liked it up until Africa.

Generally the point of a plot TWIST is to be surprising. If it's not meant to be surprising then you just write an itinerant story.

...

No my man. The "twist" ending was supposed to show how low Big Boss has fallen morally from his initial status in MGS3.

All my female character I find are shit except for that one you get after blowing up Sal with the raspy breathing when you run.

I started playing this the other day, is there a faster way around the open world that doesn't involve calling a chopper and like two chopper rides and a couple load times? I could ride D-Horse but that takes fuckin forever.

Not really. If you're not in a main mission you can go into the pause menu and select "Return to ACC" which will immediately put you in the chopper. Make sure you do this right after you get a checkpoint though because anything after a checkpoint won't be saved.

There's a FOB on PC called 'Outer Harem' you can farm S females there and the owner nevers attacks you back.

There's fast travel but you need to get to a base and collect a sticker or something before you can use it to get there.

You can also get those tickets at each big camp and use your box to fast travel, but its a bit cumbersome to do. The real answer is to listen to tapes while you travel.

I played the intro and then when I got to the part where you're on a horse in the desert, I just left the controller there and went to do something else, and then I never played it again. I don't know what's wrong with me, I really liked MGS1-4.

later theres upgrades so the chopper shows up faster. You can also call it way ahead of time and let it chill while you finish up what youre doing.

He's good in all of them, but I think he gives his best performance in V. Huey's trial still gives me chills
They don't, not to see that aren't good. The ones that come to mind are Skullface and code talker, plus Skullface and Zero. All of the tapes received after beating the game are pretty good

you're missing out man

>You can also call it way ahead of time and let it chill while you finish up what youre doing.

this nibbah get's it. The game has a lot of soft difficulty which a lot of players con't seem to appreciate

THIS IS THE ENEMY, AND HE'S HERE ON HIS KNEES!

>tfw on my fourth playthrough in a row of mgs3
How do I stop

Saying the tapes aren't story is objectively wrong, the game was designed so that the only cutscenes are whatever's necessary to progress the game with everything else being on tapes, because everyone and their mother complained about the amount of cutscenes and mandatory codecs in MGS4. The tapes in TPP are necessary for understanding the game's story, yet we still get shrieking idiots who complain about the story while simultaneously saying the tapes don't count. The game very clearly intends for the player to listen to the tapes while playing the game so they're actually doing something other than putting the controller down to listen to people talk for half an hour at a time like in previous games. And then episode 30 fucks it up.

Play Survive instead

does the chopper go away if you don't get there fast enough?

yeah but it takes a while

this
I love the older games to death (currently replaying 1) and V is just as good, just different.
What a colossal faggot you are. He was fantastic in V due to motion capture while recording.
