Nintendo has an army of developers creating games for it at all times. Its problem has always been hardware.
Microsoft's problem is the opposite. It might have the most powerful console tech right now (which is still shit compared to PC), but it's got fuck all for first-party gaming. It lacks the basic infrastructure to put forth a compelling enough platform to survive anymore.
They even lose Bungie. Their best studio.
There is a strong indication microsoft has many exclusives in the work (contract wise) but they will all release after 2019.
Sony is also reportedly doubling down on first party development for the same timeframe.
Xbox one will die a sad death, they are fully preparing a super launch for next gen with a halo at launch.
The last Halo didn't do much for them, though. It had the worst sales in the series and I believe is now completely dead online. (MP I mean)

Everything beyond a few japanese exceptions is getting a pc release.
Install base is too small so it doesn't make sense unless Microsoft is partially funding it, and devs that have had that relationship(Lionhead, Platinum) have found that the well runs dry pretty quick

Sony has always had a slew of FP releases. Some were great, some were mixed, and others were meh.
Nintendo, on the other hand, has survived **ONLY** on FP releases. So the fact that third parties rarely make exclusives (Bayonetta being the exception) has no impact on them whatsoever. Hurts them the least.
The end result is that Microsoft is the only company lacking a compelling reason to choose them.

That's the point, Sony stupidly released the Pro giving Microsoft the advantage, Microsoft will now wait until Sony releases the PS5 and then hit them with the next Xbox which will be stronger than the PS5. Sony fucked up, it will also damage Sony with the fact that the Xbox Two will have all the features of the One meaning that the next Xbox will have far more features at launch than the PS5.
Like I said, they are going the PC route.
Instead of making a a new console from scratch, they are gonna revise the Xbone with a more upgrade version, so they every game you own will be playable on the newest one.

I was just about to post something similar. The Pro was a half step and it lacks far behind the new Xbox. Feature wise, the two consoles aren't even close and Sony will keep pushing for remakes and not include backwards compat in the PS5.

I'd be surprised if Crackdown 3 kept its destructibility. They've barely shown it off despite announcing the game like 3 years ago. There was the whole "destruction of the cloud shit" so if you played SP it was downgraded but if you played online co-op it was the full experience. Ontop of that, Crackdown was always a mediocre series.
The Pro was just a ploy to push PSVR. It can't even do native 4K. Sony should have just waited a bit or made the Pro more powerful to play both ends of the spectrum, but they rushed it.
