What are your hopes/expectations for this game? Besides it coming out, of course.
>Perturbator does the soundtrack. >The Netrunning being actually engaging and not some arcade minigame. >Customizable aerodynes. >Giving players the choice to not use firearms/melee weapons and instead go full cyber. >Little to no references to real-world current events and politics (except those that may concern the setting and/or cyberpunk as a sub-genre).
Everything else is pretty standard stuff for an open-world game.
Transhumanism is a classic theme in cyberpunk universes and there would be nothing wrong with it being part of the story although we already had a reasonable quantity of it in the recent deus exes. I'm expecting Sup Forums to go full retard and consider this a comparison to the current gender and racial situations as they often do. Carpenter Brut on the ost would be neat and I too hope that netrunning will be polished.
Brayden Foster
Vaporware.
Ryan Russell
*Vaporwave
Brody Collins
>Choices and consequences that actually matter >Quests with multiple solutions that actually require the player to think and explore a bit instead of handholding them >A world that actively reacts to player's actions
Justin Davis
Pertubator is not alone doing the soundtrack It seems to be multiple artists, either there is a radio in game or its a collaborative soundtrack
Luke Hill
Wasn't it already confirmed that Perturbator was working on the soundrack?
Anthony Watson
Oh and also >A world being immersive and allowing the player to just enjoy themselves and live in it instead of doing quests
Brandon Robinson
Flying cars
Asher James
>Transhumanism is a classic theme in cyberpunk universes and there would be nothing wrong with it being part of the story although we already had a reasonable quantity of it in the recent deus exes.
H+ in the recent DX games was seen as a new thing to the world population in them. Augs were popping up at ever-increasing rates, people were growing scared. The Aug Incident didn't help that fear.
The year 2077 is fifty or so years after DX: HR and MD. Transhumanism is the the order of the day. I think the theme in CP2077 would be "Normalized transhumanism" rather than "Transhumanism's effect on society" as seen in DX.
So I can expect Perturbator, Carpenter Brut, Dan Terminus and maybe ALEX? That's cool.
Gabriel Smith
Bump.
Hunter Roberts
a ciri cameo would be awesome.
Connor Lee
I'd like to see some lazerhawk on the soundtrack along with several other outrun artists.
Xavier Rivera
I'd prefer they kept the game as far away from The Witcher franchise as possible. A few small easter eggs here and there would be okay, but a cameo from Ciri? That would take me out of the game. It'd be easier to have people in-game make passing references to a "weird, silver-haired girl."
Hunter Diaz
This honestly. The furthest I would go is some missable random mini event with Ciri randomly appearing in the crowd and disappearing shortly afterwards. Or being able to see just a glimpse of her in some alley before she teleports away
Henry Wright
Nah, Lazerhawk's music is too upbeat/comfy-sounding (Skull & Shark nonwithstanding). You need darkwave/dark synth.
Hudson Harris
Perturbator comes to my mind
Ethan Allen
you clearly haven't read anything about cyberpunk 2077 then
Mike clearly said it's not your usual dark cyberpunk in a gritty city and all, he said it was a more punk, upbeat and colored cyberpunk
You know she possibly went to that world? When she was telling Geralt about the worlds she visited She talked about people having metal in their heads, flying ships and such
Ethan Miller
I'd like to have themed bars in the game. I mean you could have your stereotypical cyberpunk club but in some backstreet somewhere you find a country western bar playing Hank Williams.
Kevin Bell
Sup Forums has the worst opinions
Jayden Jenkins
I'm sure the guys who did "use batman senses to complete" quests will have no handholding in their next game.
Luke Nelson
Ah, so less Blade Runner and more Neuromancer? Got it. Not enough cyberpunk games have the "punk" aspect. As much as I love Blade Runner too many devs use it as an influence when there's a wealth of content out there that has the "punk" aspect.
Nolan Miller
Would love this. Generally the more interesting, thematic and atmospheric locations the better. I would also love to be able to own and customise a comfy apartment and generally have lots of cyberpunk life simulationism elements. Hey, a guy can hope, right?
Dominic Gonzalez
>Radio Why is Rockstar the only people who have done radios right? Not just music, but radio hosts, talk shows, etc.
Adrian Watson
>darkwave/dark synth. I can only hope for Dan Terminus or Carpenter Brut
Charles Morales
First 2 Saints Row games also had pretty good radios, 2 more than 1. Had memorable hosts with good quotes, funny commercials and all the other shit, although no talk shows. Still, agreed that no one beats R* in this aspect.
Robert Rodriguez
You gain skill points to spend on different abilities instead of levelling up, like Deus Ex. Base attributes like health, strength and stamina can be increased but are capped at a certain point. To increase this cap, the player must undergo irreversible augmentation. Glam-rock style with lots of hot pinks and bright greens Rad Pertubator soundtrack for action sequences but something slower and more sombre for the more atmospheric moments A couple of tasteful references to other cyberpunk games/books/films A lot of rain An area called Tanhauser Gate
Daniel Lee
While dated, I hope they go for the cozy feeling Shenmue had when it came to shops and businesses. Maybe the places you hang out at start to shape how people view you.
Caleb Young
doesnt fit in this. cyberpunk is fully rooted in synthwave
Hudson Long
the TV shows in Max Payne are pretty great too and the (one) radio station in VtM:B
but realistically it comes down to budget and in the end there aren't a whole lot of games where you're a civilian who does a lot of driving around in a civilian car, which makes a radio pretty much mandatory
Tyler Jenkins
>Hey, a guy can hope, right? You're right. I hope it turns out well, too.
Ryan Watson
Mafia 2 had a decent believable radio. 3 had the music but lacked the ads and dj's.
Anyway licensed music would be nice in 2077, but the option to play your own music would be fine.
Alexander Allen
I'm gunning for multiple endings, a shit-ton of variety in combat, maybe even hacking enemies to kill for you, mirrors to be a part of gameplay for example using lazer-based weapons onto mirrors to get enemies behind cover, characters that are vital to the story to die to get different endings even, it might be a long shot to say no escort missions, maybe some James Bond stealth shit in between.
I might be asking for much but as long as it's a good cyberpunk game, or one I can enjoy.
I want vaporwave OST by 2814. Fuck synthwave. youtu.be/F9L4q-0Pi4E But of course we'll be getting synthwave anyway.
Nicholas Davis
After Consoleitcher 3 I have unironically zero hope and hype for this.
Caleb Gomez
Why did faggots meme Perturbator into popularity instead of someone like Ed Harrison. >tfw ywn be in a team of fags from v again making it to the end with the ghost against insurmountable odds due to the combined autism of the teams inability to use mic to speak more than a couple of words at a time.
Kevin Mitchell
What did such a game do to deserve such a 10/10 soundtrack?
Joseph Ramirez
This. Perturbator isn't bad, but Ed Harrison's music makes for some GOAT soundtracks.
Chase Cruz
amazing and perfect.
Sebastian Smith
...
Angel Sanchez
Gay romances Black main character Prominent Muslim female character Today's politics pasted into the story Evil white villain
Nathan Perez
>I'm expecting Sup Forums to go full retard and consider this a comparison to the current gender and racial situations as they often do.
Then you're retarded, Sup Forums has been talking about the benefits of Transhumanism for years. Modifying your body to increase its performance is nothing like chopping your dick off to feel pretty.
Connor Perez
This, except ironically.
Tyler Jones
>all this talk about the OST Post shit you think fits the bill, I'll start with some meme Perturbator to get it going but I'd love to see what kind of stuff you glorious fags want in it youtu.be/Y8DekFFCE5c
Isaiah Rodriguez
I don't go on Sup Forums, I just see blurbs of its denizens on other boards.
I hope the story is completely different depending on what class you play
Ian Bell
I hope we finally get something that improves on the origin system in Dragon Age Origins in another big AAA RPG. This is my only hope for that right now.
Adrian Thompson
this sounds like fucking garbage
William Sanchez
That’s what I was thinking. Like a deepwebcore /game/ type shit. Like machine girl or swans cop or swans filth.
Hasn't it already been confirmed that you will have a set main character, not a character creator. I'm sure that was leaked. Also why do you people think this game will have classes or any indepth leveling or roleplaying. It's the guys who made The Witcher 3.
Matthew Davis
>I'm sure that was leaked. Fake news, choombatta. Also, Mike Pondsmith, the guy who created Cyberpunk, is overseeing the game. Why would he want people to play as a set character? Why would he not want the game to have as much of the TTRPG in it as possible?
Liam Edwards
>The first thing that goes trough my mind is what will Sup Forums think
You're mentally ill
Eli Allen
>perturbator >not OGRE damn shame
Logan Price
t. Mike Laidlaw
Nicholas Thompson
good picks, bro
>Rafal Praszczalek a writer on Cyberpunk 2077 explains that a large amount of focus is on social communications. We are all wirelessly connected, through our current tech, portable smart phones. Rafal will be pushing those sorts of boundaries, exploring the way technology connects different social groups.
>Rafal goes on to say "Tech is always changing us or are we just looking for something to blame for our social changes?"
>Another area the two guys were up for discussing was the players character selection.
>Antoni "We want to give the players as many tools to express themselves. Player character customisation will be visually represented. These player character choices will not only be important from a gameplay mechanics point of view, but the player's character design choices will have a direct impact on the development of the story"
>Our buddy leading the session, Tomas Rawlings, summarises "So the choices you make in the creation of the character will reflect back in the story itself"
fuck synthwave, witchhouse is THE cyberpunk soundtrack
Ryan Jackson
Majority this. But also use of space ships, space exploration and a got variety of weapons and Armour. Like ME1. Also companions that fit every play style.
John Lopez
Taking the SJW vision and extrapolating it out into a possible future would actually be a good starting point for a distopian cyberpunk world. I'm just not sure exactly how it would play out. All white people dead? Non-whites inherit the western world, but are ruled over by Jews. Asian world refuses to submit and there are some nasty wars.
Benjamin Myers
If there isn't industrial/ebm in the soundtrack ima be mad
Nicholas Johnson
So you want everything EA did with ME series. And put it into Cryberpunk. You have shit dreams user.
Adam Collins
Mike Pondsmith has very little input on the game these days, he said in an interview he only visits the studio a couple times a year, as opposed to the beginning of development when his visits were more frequent.
That says nothing about character creation, he's just talking about apparel affecting your character's reputation. The way hes talking seems to reinforce the notion of a set character.
Nathan Watson
This game will bomb harder than the Enola Gay.
James Cruz
t. delusional nigger
the hype for this game is unreal after witcher 3
Elijah Young
no you fucking retard, witch house is the "teenage edgy high school girl who watched Twin Peaks once and thinks she can be sexy and scary like Laura Palmer by not wearing pants and drawing slenderman fanart while high on weed/xanax, and also that her period gives her superpowers" music.
Jace Jenkins
You must be retarded to think that. Provided they actually fucking release it in next few years it will sell like hotcakes, the hype will be unreal
Grayson Bell
did a witchhouse artist fuck a girl you like, cause you seem to have a agenda with that lenghty post
Gabriel Young
desu that sounds more interesting than "i played hotline miami once" aka synthwave
Jaxon Foster
>Playing a game and liking the soundtrack of said game is wrong.
The state of Sup Forums.
Asher Gutierrez
i bet you are the cringy fuck who brings animal masks to perturbator concerts
yes i fucking saw you, go hang yourself if thats you
Joshua Butler
No, I'm just explaining you what witch house is about, what its demographic is, and why you're retarded for conflating it with cyberpunk when it actually references 70s family-themed horror films and early 2000s mallgoth culture, and has almost no connexions with scifi at all.
it's pokemon creepypasta music it's Jeff the Killer fanart music it's Rosemary's Baby tumblr gif music
It's as cyberpunk as surf rock
Joshua Rodriguez
>eww yucky cringies >i dont wanna like that, it's cringie-cringe! I don't wanna be a cringie boy! I wanna be a cool boy!
Jason Hughes
so you really are one of those guys, nice job mate, i bet you got a lot of pussy for that epic reference!
and yet it fits, as RUINER has proven its dark, its dirty and its electronic, just like cyberpunk
Easton Howard
daft punk easter egg, thanks
Hudson Green
>creation of the character will reflect back in the story itself >That says nothing about character creation
You just want to dislike this game
Wyatt Foster
And of COURSE you're that one guy who pops up in every single CP77 thread to shill Ruiner's mediocre-ass soundtrack.
Ruiner's music is mediocre as fuck precisely because it sounds like witch house.
Ruiner proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that synthwave is more appropriate.
Incorporate those facts
oh, wait, sorry, it's "RUINER" in all caps, right, gotta spell that right so everybody can see it, huh? Cause it so deserves all that publicity.
>dark, dirty and electronic applies to a hundred different subgenres, not sufficient to determine if it fits cyberpunk.
It's just shitty darkwave with obnoxious trap beats, it belongs in those specific contexts get fucked and shut up forever
Oh, so you're a cool guy? Tell me, Mr. Cool Guy, what are you into?
Anthony Wilson
not all witchhouse songs are equal because of vague nature of the genre, i'd argue that good witchhouse would really fit a cyberpunk game, and RUINER had like 2 witchhouse songs anyway, most of it was industrial
