the biggest problem with Vita was the price, the propietary memory cards and the first party support and yeah 3rd party support to some extent

Are they garbage or just mediocre? I remember the PSP had a lot of very basic, watered-down versions of console games. They weren't awful, but didn't offer a unique experience like DS games.

3DS has tailored games for the hardware, i wouldn't call them mediocre, there are still some great games on the 3DS but the limited input buttons and terrible screen can really detract from the experience

Vita has those, but it also has ports completely faithful to originals of some games which is nifty.
3DS has more games specifically done for it, but also more shovelware.

As a result and surprisingly, it's Vita that has more technical issues overall like running games smoothly, even though 3DS games have more primitive graphics by comparison.

Vita is the same thing, watered-down PS3 and PS4 ports with a few exclusives and tons of indies.

3DS has far more exclusives (and far more shovelware), but it lacks the "unique experience" factor of DS games.

What's with the vita ports of console games? It's like they literally pushed a "export to vita" button and nothing else.

Owned a Vita since launch and a 3DS since last year.

My vote goes to 3DS, because the Vita's best exclusives nearly all got ports and nearly every game on it that's worth playing is better played on another system now. It's sorta like the modern Dreamcast where it had ambitious hardware and a really good library but then the former became outdated and the latter went mostly multiplat.

Circa 2014-15 the Vita won no contest though.

Unless you didn't forgot the N on the 3ds, because the lesser/lack of load times N2DS gives makes it far better than the original.
