Elite Dangerous

Killer 7

Thief 1 & 2

Is that ryan dunn

Subnautica. It makes the game WAY spookier than it should be.

FTL with audiophile tier gear is quite amazing.

anything that isn't super loud or feature hollywood actors faking hype every 2 seconds like this: Yakuza 0, Gravity Rush 2, Dishonored 1 Shadow of the Colossus comes to mind

it's from an old maxell ad, young'n. long before jackass.

Rainbow 6 Siege

Arx fatalis

Rain World, by every single metric.

Diablo 3. Say what you want about the game, but it sounds amazing.

Interesting. Is worth playing?

As shit as the game is, this.

Battlefield war tapes

Original Bad Company blew me away back when it first came out.
Most Frostbite games indeed have good sound
Dead Space
Halo CE
Definitely this Lucasart's Outlaws
Dune II on the Genesis
Bastion

vib ribbon

Cave Wars. It's like you are really in a cave.

I was just playing Crysis 2 the other day and the sound design is one of the main things that stood out to me. The sound of bullets pelting your suit in armor mode never gets old

It's a survival platformer with limited combat abilities and attempts to create as believable an alien ecosystem as it can manage. Whether that's really interesting to you really depends on how much you like dying and exploring.

Dead Space, especially Dead Space 2. Listening with earphones and hearing 'Isaac' being whispered faintly somewhere behind you is fucking great.

Quake franchise.

I think everybody who's into games should shell out some bucks and buy some hi-fi equipment. There's a lot of affordable stuff out there that completely SHITS on generic gamer headsets. It really elevates some games to whole new hights. For example Alien Isolation, that game sounds fucking amazing.

Do you have a least a 5.1 sound system with correct placed speakers?
I have a Logitech setup like this and it do wonders on games and 5.1 movies.
Fags who put all the speakers in front or headphones fags need not apply.

>and it do wonders
Where did you steal them, Jamal?

Are Astro A40s good?

>Gravity Rush
>Dishonored
>Shadow of the Colossus
no comment on the sound design but these games are absolute gamer dude garbage

everything in dark souls 1 had a really crunchy and bassy feel
i don't know why none of the other soulsgames has it, even the ambience was really crunchy and bassy

>gaming headset
no

no

What would be a good soundbar for a small condo?

yeah buy a DXRacer too and some gunnars bro you gotta take care of your eyes. Now you are ready to be a total pro!

Rule of thumb: If it has a mic it sucks.

The fact that no other stealth game has surpassed Thief's sound propagation system is fucking pathetic. This was a system Dishonored 2 needed for a no powers ghost run to be viable without save scumming.

>He's so serious about this that he's running another instance of the game on his laptop.

Battlefield Bad Company 2. The sound design was the primary reason I bought the game.

It's probably unrealistic as all hell, but every gun sounding like a cannon blowing out your soeakers/headphones, the amazing reverb and echo effects, and the exaggerated soundscape made everything feel super chaotic and intense.

Quake 1 has the best FPS sound design ever.

Half-Life 2
Gothic
MGS3

Bioshock
Thief
Space Invaders Extreme 2
Monkey Island 2

this but not at all
Half Life 1 and Opfor
Gothic II
Metal Gear Solid 2

but why?

Unironically COD games.

If your game doesn't have dynamic music, it's shit.

Heroes of Might and Magic. 3, 4, and 5 are elder deity tier.

System Shock 1 with its dynamic midi music and the SHODAN voice

Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee and Exoddus have THE BEST atmospheare of any game I’ve ever played. Everything you need to know about incoming obstacles can be gleaned from simple, fitting audio cues. Music is incredibly dynamic (individual levels have anywhere from 5 to 15+ distinct tracks for different moods/events/progression. It’s seriously impressive. The stockyard escape sequence uses amazing use of ambient noise and darkness, these are must play games if you like to be immersed.

The sound design in Oddworld is so good and the meticulousness of its craft so detailed that the 2015 remake had lost a ton of points from fans simply because the atmosphere was so hard to replicate.

I liked Corpse Party's use of 3D audio. Shame the story is awful.

Dark souls 1 ambient was fucking amazing
no idea why it all went so wrong in dark souls 2, 3 and bloodborne
dark souls 3 did a horrible job on emulating everything about dark souls 1.
