Fake.

It's fake

...

isn't the Emerald label reflective

Open it up and find out.

hmm should it?

>tfw have a real copy of Fire Red

It is and the cartridge doesn't have that texture.

So do I, and Leaf Green. Is it rare or something?

>have a real copy of FireRed
>completed the Pokedex
>brother loaned it to a kid he was babysitting
>saved over my file
I suppose I should have seen this coming

>letting other people have access to your hard work
never in a thousand years nigga

The green looks brighter than Emerald

I can't believe that Gamefreak actually responded to this phenomenon in later titles

I was off at college at the time, didn't really have control over all my old Gameboy games

i live in newfoundland and i've only found one fake among many, many real ones. i don't think the knockoffs were really a presence up here the same way

>Bought a copy of Sapphire off of Amazon
>Turned out to be a bootleg version
>Refunded it and reported the seller
>He was never punished

Thanks Amazon.

Yeah, most copies sold now seem to be fake.

Game cart belongs to Chris Chan you dipshit speds.

Fake

>Friend of mine who was really into Twilight at the time asked me if he could borrow my Sapphire version since he never played the gen 3 games
>Sure, just don't save over it or anything
>Get it back next day
>immediately notice he saved over game and named his character Edward

Actually it says SOLD. That means it's not his and belongs to someone else.
Learn to read, fatty.

How do fake carts still exist? How can it be profitable for someone to make fake carts for a dead system?

>tfw got fucked by a fake copy of Emerald before

I learned to bring a knife with me to real life trading meetups now.

Real ones are a darker green and there should be some letters/numbers indented into the label on real ones.

>not having both a legit emerald to play on dora the explorer theme gba, and the ROM on a smartphone emulater
Such plebian practices shall cease immediately

Chinamen can crank that shit out and there are always clueless parents and other assorted dumbfucks who will buy them. It’s basically free money. Not a ton of free money, but it all adds up. Plus, 20.00 is a lot of money in gookland.

i believe the real ones label are printed on foil

I'd imagine that selling bootlegs of expensive-ass carts for a fraction of the cost could more profitable down the line.

go to vp you fucking faggot.

How much is $20 supposed to be worth to them?

>pristinechristine
holy kek

is there even any difference other than it not being real?
seems like they would be alright if you didn't pay the price of a real copy

What did they do?

That makes me feel pretty good, all of my Pokemon games were bought new so that's good.

Fake copies can't save.

I dunno, man. Most of this shit is produced by chinkies who have a cousin who works in the Nintendo factory. I mean, it’s gotta be worth their time given how much counterfeit shit these fuckers churn out.

They hired Nintendo ninjas to kill children caught tampering with other children's save they locked deleting saves behind a secret cheat code
It's just like my real copies.

I wouldn't mind fake copies as long as they worked, but some people charge almost full price for them and in that case I would prefer the real deal.

But they don't get $20 per cart. The get maybe $1/ cart selling them in batches of 20,000 to randos in the west who eventually sell them to other people and so on.

Of course, I have no idea how old this fake is. Maybe they were produced when the GBA was actually still being made and sold? What was the turnaround time for fakes back then? But back in the day, it would've been even more expensive to make this stuff.

Is Emerald even an expensive cart? He doesn't have the box or anything. I guess $20 seems kinda high for a GBA game with no box, but then again Chris is known for his outrageous demands in terms of prices for shit he owns.

pretty much 6 to 1 exchange rate. So $20 would be like $120

That label looks like shit, pretty easy to tell it's fucking fake

Thanks senpai

This but his friend never gave it the fuck back. Still have Leaf Green though.

They can, but you can't migrate pokemon. The only reason a real or fake game can't save is if the internal battery died.

The fake ones can't save after you clear the Elite Four. Even replacing the battery doesn't work. Otherwise I wouldn't have had to go find another fucking copy.

>tfw ruby battery was dry fucking one and I never got any additional berries or shit like mirage island.

>Loaning any Pokemon games
you deserve this

Some of them can't save. Counterfeit HG/SS and B/W can't use infrared because they're supposed to be in special carts.

I could tell it was fake from the fucking thumbnail. Look at that color, and the label is wrong.

>tfw never found mirage island anyway
>never got the autism to do tough/long stuff legit
fuck breedcucks and anti-cheat losers
I liked playing with dynamite. The deleted save just meant a new game.

I'm sure Chris doesn't know it's fake, or that you could even fake cartridges.

>forbidden snacks

its safe to assume any decent looking pokemon gba cart is a fake

...

Yeah, real ones have long since gotten smashed by their kid owners. The only good ones left would be in the game freak vaults.

>went to the flea market
>some old dude at a stand selling old electronics
>he was selling a working classic Nintendo DS with a real copy of Fire Red inside and a charger
>ask him how much for it all
>$20

flea markets are the best fucking thing

>Get pokemon green for my birthday, my two other brothers got red and blue in the UK.
>distinctly remember it being dark green matte plastic. Had ivysaur on the front and looked 1000% legit.
>Didn't think anything of it until years later when someone brought up the "green is blue" thing.
>Still not entirely convinced I had a fake.

I feel like it was an artifact from the alternate time line. I fucking had it. It was real. It wasn't a fucking bootleg.

cant migrate to gen 4

>copy of firered
>copy x2 of leafgreen
>ruby
>emerald
I fucking swear some nig stole my sapphire.

why would it have ivysaur? every other green has venusaur

I got a story from the time I went to Vietnam when I was 12(school trip since it sponsered an orphanage there)
>friend comes over talking about how he got a rare version of a pokemon game for GBA.
>Puts it in his system
>It opens up to a pikachu platformer that was probably a bootleg of some sort.
>The label read Pokemon Yellow
>go the next day and find some games I want.
>remember what happened.
>ask them to show the game to me so I can see if its legit.
>Got Sonic Adv2, BN6 and Ty2 out of it - cost about $60-80 Straya at the time
>SAdv2 and BN6 don't save progress.
>BN6 is permenantly in ultra hard mode since I have to beat it all in a single life and if I die restart from scratch.
>Still enjoy the game. Also it was labelled, gregar but ended up getting falzar instead.
>Pikachu platformer was kind of cool

I actually meant venusaur, its been hoo boy, I haven't played since pearl. How long is that?

You let that Vaporeon out of there right now!

real Green had Venusaur, not Ivysaur

and the cartridge was grey

and was also in Japanese

Yes, it was clearly a fake.
BUT IT WAS REAL DAMNIT

like 12 years

Diamond and Pearl came out in the west almost 12 years ago.

...

if vaporeon wanted out of there it could just ice beam or hydropump, besides nobody in their right mind would joke around like that anyway, im sure the blender isnt even plugged in

does it not play?

I fucking love that cheap chinese plastic, shit makes me nostalgic and gives me autistic shivers

>cheap chinese plastic
But all gameboy cartridges have always had that.

I think I still have my sapphire and leaf green, i lost interest in them quick surprised i didnt throw them away whats so special about these shitty entries

running shoes were pretty neat

also abilities, natures, re-challenging trainers with new rosters, including Gym Leaders and the Elite 4

>last summer when to Michigan to meet family
>little bro finds a "retro" store
>looking around until he finds Pokemon LeafGreen
>instant buy for $25
>somethingisnotquiteright
>notice the shitty graving of Nintendo on the back, odd depositional Rated E logo, and Cartridge doesn't have the "dimple" at the center

Returned the game the next 20 minutes and the guy knew he was selling fake shit.
