So what do you think the "final secret" is? Naked Toobe? A hidden soundtrack song? A single line of throwaway incidental dialog that requires some esoteric and byzantine series of steps to acquire? Yoko Taro personally asking you if you riked it?
So what do you think the "final secret" is? Naked Toobe? A hidden soundtrack song...
bump
isnt it the fact that you can escape the last boss by gifing her a fish?
bumping for interest
Wheres the data miners when you need em?
>Naked Toobe?
I feel like that's something that can just be found through datamining
What? Explain.
...
Supposedly it's something you can't mine form the data, right?
i think its a bug that wipes save data
If data miners could find it, they would have already done so within weeks of release
>If data miners could find it
How could they not? Taro's just having a giggle probably.
It's the secret Shadowlord fight
Iunno man, but I got to the sunken city part
but the whole shitload of sidequests, running around everywhere is kinda boring me
I got the fast travel which makes it easier, but damn, running everywhere earlier was tiring as fuck
and apparently there's multiple endings?
well I tell ya what, i certainly ain't replaying all the way through with all these damn fetch quests.
I never felt the same way. I found it really enjoyable to explore.
the OST is nice, but backtracking, and going all over the place, back and forth got on my nerves
I don't mind going to different regions and doing quests within that area, but running back and forth from Pascal's village, to the desert, etc.. Fuck me.
If you are not going to finish the 3rd arc you might as well drop the game right now.
It's not really multiple endings as it is chapters of the game
More like multiple routes. Also side quests in the first two routes are mostly shared. There are a few that are exclusive to Tooobie and some that are exclusive to Nines.
Side quests retain their progress between playthroughs if I remember correctly.
Also this Things go pretty batshit after ending B, but not everyone will like the game enough to get there.
Most of the sidequests aren't worth doing unless you want to 100%.
I thought that side quests fleshed out the characters and the story a lot. I really enjoyed them despite it being just fetch quests.
They're only multiple in a broad sense. Basically, think of Nier: Automata as being divided into two halves of a complete story. The first ending takes place in the first half of the story, the second is a retread of the first from 9S's perspective, then the third ending takes place in the second half of the story. Once you get that third ending, you unlock a chapter select feature. You go back to the last decision from the second half of the story and choose the opposite choice, then you get your fourth ending. Midway through the credits of the fourth ending, you get the chance to do the last sequence of the game that constitutes as the fifth.
>i certainly ain't replaying all the way through with all these damn fetch quests
The game remembers which side quests you've already done, and removes quests you haven't completed that are no longer viable to complete past a certain threshold in the main story. The only thing you have to worry about is brand new side quests.
They're not even very far away. Fast travel really spoiled you.
What I'm getting from this is that I should just keep playing?
I like the combat to a degree, the OST is wonderful. The inventory system is .. Unique, and takes a bit to get used to.
It seems like a really extensive game, and so far it's been working pretty well with FAR/Resolution mod installed and some SMAA/Clarity from Reshade.
if eating a fish gives you ending K
wouldnt that mean there are endings from A to J?
Why are they hugging in front of a PS3?
While I can't comment on what the secret is cause I have no idea, what I will fucking say is.
Pascal deserved better.
to touch up on this-
If decisions I make in the game, will it have any impact on 'endings'?
Like if I don't help out some fembot with makeup, it won't give me some other ending?
It's just one string of endings?
There's A through Z
>Image confirms Toobs is taller than Nines
You should ask yourself: Are you having fun? Are you enjoying yourself? Has the time you've put into the game so far been fulfilling? You're about three boss fights from your first ending. Now would be the time to decide if you don't like the game, or if you do like the game, but are simply annoyed with an aspect that's getting repetitive.
Endings A-E are the proper endings. All of the other endings, going up to Z I believe, are joke endings to make fun of the player for fucking up. Each of them should be viewed as saying: "END: good job [R]etard"
You're goddamn right.
Endings A and B are not affected by player choice. Ending C and D are only affected by the very last decision of the second half of the game. Ending E is only affected by the choice of whether or not to pursue it once you get the fourth ending. Every other ending that happens from a "choice" is a joke because of you making a mistake.
There's a set of main, fleshed out "endings". Some of the other, ancillary endings are abrupt due to your mistakes, and some are just plain silly. You never know what will lead to one. Try yanking your OS chip as an example (save first).
I am having fun killing shit and doing the main sort of quests, venturing from areas, doing the Adam & Eve boss fight was pretty wicked.
I am just very construed on doing fetch quests. It makes me feel awful.
Hell, even doing Witcher 3's side quests had me yawning at some points. At a point it just became TOO much "do this, go here, go back there, do these things, then that" and sorta just .. Mended together.
Later on you get the option to replay previous chapters, if you don't want to do the sidequests just ignore them and they'll still be there later.
The biggest twist of the game for my friend was being told pascal is a boy. He thought it was just a fuck up in the translation that they were calling him a male.
See: Once you get your third ending, chapter select is unlocked. Just don't go for the fourth ending (C/D depending on your choices) or the true ending (E) until you've finished everything you want to finish. You'll understand later.
Not going to lie, it was jarring hearing that voice come out of a character I knew was supposed to be a male.
