Because its shit.
How is it?
Thanks for the reminder user, I just bought it.
>16 gigabytes
What the actual fuck.
Seems fine so far. It's top-down real time tactics style game though, unlike the originals.

You know it's shit when it's not even worth renting.
>saw the artstyle
ah cool
>saw the gameplay

i heard the dev was a massive faggot or something
I'm glad the game over scenes are still around.
There is a third game? Damn, I liked the first game, didn't even know there was a third in development.
Fear Effect Inferno was the original 3rd game in the series but it got cancelled. They're also remaking FE1.
FE 3 would´ve been better than this

Is this yuri?
Yes, actually.
Dude lesbians LMAO
...
Is that a bad thing?
they're not lesbians.
Yes they are.
>Change gameplay style completely
>New VA's for everyone
>Missing composer that made the first 2 games' soundtracks so memorable
I love FE but Sedna is shit.
They look pretty gay tho
Director says no, they aren't. They aren't exclusively homosexual, they just happen to both be into eachother.
They're lovers.
Yes, that's what I said.
They're still not lesbians though.
I thought they were bisexual?
>New VA's for everyone
Source? Hana and Rain sound like they did in FE2 to me. Deke and Glas I'm not sure on just yet. Shitty though it may be, they all got new VAs going from FE1 to FE2.
Splitting hairs.
No, not at all. A bisexual woman isn't a lesbian just because her current partner is also a woman.
Hana only fucks men for business, like getting information and whatnot. Her preference is women, or Rain at least. So Bi by necessity and gay by choice. Like I said, splitting hairs.
Again I must reiterate that the director has said neither woman is exclusively homosexual, romantically included.
Indeed his wording was that neither of them like labels of any sort.
Cutscenes, setting and characters aside, so far this game is doing nothing for me. The gameplay isn't good, the shooting is as basic as it gets, and there's no reason to ever use the squad commands, since the AI is just braindead. The puzzles are somehow even more cryptic and trial and error heavy than the ones in the Playstation games, and I'm already groaning every time I come across another one. You could argue that the previous games also had these problems, and you'd be correct, but at the same time, I'd like to think that we've come a long way as far as mechanics and game design goes. About the only thing they got right, is the look and feel of the cutscenes (even if the writing and voice acting is somehow much worse). As someone that has some level of nostalgia for the older games, I can easily say that I don't think this is worth playing. If you absolutely must play it, get it during a sale for $5 or less. PS: This game is really lacking in sex appeal and innuendo so far compared to Retro Helix, so I can't even recommend it based on that. Such a shame, I was hoping this game would revive interest in this series, so that maybe Square would have considered bringing back Inferno.
they're the empowered slut archetype
So are they trying to push the same love triangle bullshit between Hana, Rain and Glas in this one like in Inferno?
Friendly reminder that FE1 > 2
Well they already were back in the other two games, so what else is new.
I only heard their relationship is supposed to be less sexualized, whatever the fuck that means with screens like
>NEW FEAR EFFECT
>isometric shooter
And you had me eexcited for those few seconds until I jewgled it.
It got enough attention that the first game is getting a remake.
Agreed. Retro Helix has some serious pacing problems, and it really starts to drag by the end. I also found Retro Helix way too campy at times, and it was just lacking "the edge" that made teenage me fall in love with the first game. I also thought Rain was a shit character.
Are da nigs actually gonna be faithful or do some crazy shit with the gameplay similar to this ish because that will kill it for me.
Is the remake by the same people that made Sedna? If yes, then I'm not getting excited for that at all.
To be fair Rain was mostly there to up the sex appeal and get the teenagers a little stiff when Hana and her were going all lesbo for one another.
Though I wonder if they continue the trend of Deke always getting the short end of the stick.
Reinvented looks different from that one little cutscene they showed. Gotta wait and see.
Oh hey, it this the game with the two chicks making out in the elevator?
I saw that there were pretty gruesome death scenes. What's up with that?
>play a chapter with Hana wearing nothing but a towel after taking a shower while gunning down Chinese zombies in a little fishing village
What more could Rain possible bring to the table?
Well she was sexually tortured with electricity by a big guy during a boss fight. That has to count for something.
Just saw it and it wasn't much but it looked fine
>A true-to-the- original remake of #FearEffect 1 with improved graphics and controls.
Sounds like they'll try anyway, I can understand fixing up the controls, it really wouldn't fly today, but it was a major part of the trial and error gameplay so I wonder how they will do it.
Is technically Deke's sister and she is a genetic descendant from the first Emperor of China.
Also gets nude 3 times in one mission.
>tfw I genuinely liked the RE style tank controls
>play a chapter with Hana wearing nothing but a towel after taking a shower while gunning down Chinese zombies in a little fishing village
Don't forget the chapter where she guns down Chinese Zombie hookers, while wearing her very own Asian hooker outfit. God, Fear Effect had the best costumes. Seeing those outfits in HD is probably the only good thing that would come out of the remake. Assuming they don't remove them of course, which is a possibility.
They seem to be intend to stay true to the original. Her running around in a hooker costume was justified because it was a brothel too.
I think it's the inventory system that would benefit the most from some streamlining. I remember it feeling kinda clunky having to cycle through a bunch of shit just from saving at a checkpoint to readying your weapons again.
Some kind of weapon/inventory wheel would fix that problem entirely.
It's true. FE2 may have been less clunky and slightly better looking and have higher fps (if I iirc correctly) to boot, but it just doesn't match FE1's atmosphere other than right at the start. FE1 was amazing in that respect from start to finish while FE2 really just goes full retard when you enter the chinese area. Plus I think it was quite rushed. The games are supposed to be really closely connected but it's not really apparent in writing and aesthetic. Rain is just an asspull character who they wrote the story around, when there was a shitton of other things to touch in the universe.
Has anyone found any good reasons to pause the combat in Sedna yet? So far just clicking everyone to death is working for me; especially with the game giving you medkits every three steps. Does the gameplay ever become interesting? Also, are the abilities even useful? I tried using the crossbow on a guard that had his back turned, and it didn't even one shot him; he simply turned around and started shooting at me. I mean what's even the point, when I could have just killed him much faster with my gun?
It was simpler times I guess
Because even before there was anything concrete about the game itself, the dev said they'll do something about the
>sexism
of the game.
>Literally making the sequel of a game that was only remembered because of lesbo shit
Why.
Well looking at the OP and the lesbian make out I don't think they had that in mind. I think they meant not having those two starting to slobber all over Glas' dick like it was planned for Inferno.
I haven't played it yet but
>why doesn't the crossbow kill as fast as the gun
Sounds like you don't understand the basic relationship between burst damage and continuous damage in shooting games. Sounds like the crossbow is used to peek out of cover to do a bit of damage and then quickly get back into cover. You know, to counter continuous damage weapons that fire quickly but do less damage per shot. You use continuous damage weapons on enemies when you're both out in the open, or when you flank the enemy so that they can't use cover and a burst damage weapon against you. Burst damage weapons are also countered by weapons that can flank the enemy, like grenades. Whereas against continuous damage weapons grenades serve as a form of area denial, so that the opponent can't approach you, or they have to move from wherever they are in order to avoid the blast.
