What do you miss the most about the golden age of vidya (2000-2010)?
What do you miss the most about the golden age of vidya (2000-2010)?
>that decade
>golden age
In 10 years people will be saying the 8th generation was the golden age
>all those "there's people here whose first console was a PS3/360/Wii" jokes came true
Gears of War 1 multiplayer and having fun with friends
Golden age was 4th gen, fite me
I was here when the all those kids growing up with Halo jokes came true. Now nobody even remembers the jokes.
Local multiplayer.
RTS games, however shit they were, still being alive.
Most multiplayer online games including niche Source mods being alive.
Games released finished. PC updates were only to fix bugs.
Finding a whole new section of niche games on Steam/Gamestop.
Consoles still having a primary game focus.
More alive genres.
No SJW shit.
Could finish playing a game just in time for Toonami, and TV was still worth watching in general.
A general hope and sense of optimism that things could only get better.
No idea what you mean. Every generation have some good games and I pick ones that I like and if there ain't any I just do something else.
What do you miss the most about the desk chair age of vidya (2009-2011)?
What do you miss the most about the purple scarf age of vidya (1999-1999)?
What do you miss the most about the going for a ride on your razer scooter and falling over a pebble age of vidya (1990-1995)?
The innovation.
If anything 2000-2010 was one of the worst decades for videogames.
There's already nostalgia for fucking Halo and we have unironic mobage threads. Sup Forums is beyond saving.
I miss Tomoko being super popular and iconic on Sup Forums.
>-2010
NANI??? The PS2/Dreamcast/N64 days makes sense, but those dead years filled with PS3/XBox360/Gamecube were a fucking abomination on gaming.
I've just moved on to reading the manga mostly since any reaction images with her get associated with some trap attention whores or something.

2000-2010
Not 1997-2007
the end of gen 5 and gen 6 were the golden age of gaming.
Gen 7 was the worst gen ever.
>this movie comes
>my stupid ass thinks it's the coolest shit ever and so do all the kids at my school
>to young to understand my city is shit and doesn't pave roads properly or fix the sidewalks
>for a little over a month the hot new thing in school was "skating" for 2 minutes at a time before hitting a crack or pothole and scraping your knee
>PS3/Xbox360/Gamecube
Have you gone full retard?
Now, I can bring up a list of amazing games made from 2000-2010, but since you proven that you're a retard for thinking that the Gamecube was in the same generation as the PS3/Xbox 360, arguing with you is a moot point. You clearly were either not into gaming or outright were too young during the 6th generation. (NIntendo's competitor against the 360/PS3 was the Wii, where the whole motion controls thing came from.)
Here's some good games from the 6th Generation anyways:
.Half-Life 2
.Morrowind
.Wind Waker
.Fuck it, I love the entirety of the Nintendo first-party line-up for the Gamecube
.The original 2 Call of Duty games
.Halo 1/2
.Knights of the Old Republic
.Neverwinter Nights
.Dawn of War
.Serious Sam
.A bulk of the Metal Gear Solid series
(The list just keeps going on)
I would say that 2009-2012 was oversaturated with linear CoD clones, but honestly even that isn't as bad as the microtransaction shit going on in the AAA market nowadays.
>any year past 2007
>golden age
1997-2007 is the last decade that can be seen as a golden age if you want to go by decades. 1997-2002 if you want to be autistic about it and leave out the slow decline.
This honestly.
I blame CoD4's success as well as DLC along with games 'journalists' being taken seriously. When the former grew tired and the latter stopped being considered post-Gamergate, things started to get better.
The AAA industry is still shittier now, but at least there are plenty of alternatives and people are realizing just how shitty it is. Back then, people took AAA games for granted and just assumed that they'd all be great.
