Jokes, memes, and shitposting aside, which console was a bigger disappointment?
At least 3 had some pretty good release like LBP, Resistance, MGS4, and mediocre killzone 2. PS4 was just a faster ps3 but x86 platform that allows older ps4 games runs on future x86 PS platforms.
PS3 launch was a disappointment, ended up pretty solid.
PS4 launch was hyped as fuck, ended up as a disappointment.
Disappointment implies expectations gained from the predecessor.
PS4 is.
PS3 has the excuse that it was in close competition with the 360, but the PS4 is pretty much unopposed like the PS1 and PS2 and it's still shit. They almost feel like SEGA post-Mega Drive now.
PS3 had no gaems and lost the console war
PS4 has everything and is dominating
PS4. Only play it occasionally compared to the PS3.
Launch: PS3. No games wasn't a meme for nothing reason.
Games: PS4. Big fucking time launch but library so far is somewhat underwhelming if you're not into precious weebshit
PS3 had a bad launch but managed to recover, PS4 had an amazing launch yet severely underdelivered. I have a feeling that the PS5 is gonna flop, Sony is stupidly overconfident right now and isn't willing to put the legwork in.
>its an autistic lonely user doesnt like the ps4 and pretends that everyone else doesnt either episode
70 million
xbox is dead, deal with it mate lol!
I have no idea behind how many layers of irony the real meaning of your post is, so I'm going to assume that you're a bitter sega fan. Seriously, it's almost pathetic seeing you guys struggle, after all these years. It's time to let go. The dream is over.
PS3. only got games near the end of it's life cycle
PS4 so far has only got masterpieces
ps4, at least the store fucking doesnt stop loading after 5 minutes on ps3
PS3 had no gaem, got gaem
PS4 had no gaem, got shit gaem
As a weeb, PS4 is the biggest disappointment. Even when compared to PS1 and PS2. There's a reason why we call it NormieStation 4, DudebroStation 4. If you're into those kind of games, then PS4 you might find PS4 better compared to the rest.
i finally caved and picked up a ps4 to play bloodborne a couple of months ago
i'll sell it to some chump when i'm done, i'm gobsmacked at how true the memes are. it's literally a paperweight, the library is pure shit unless you're poor/a casual with no pc
ignoring xbone, you have to go all the way back to the saturn to find a major console that was as terrible as this. even then the saturn had more than one great exclusive
As a switch marketer, I have to say ps4
PS4, except Bloodborne, got some worthwhile exclusives just since 2017 (Yakuza 0, Persona 5, which are also available for PS3...). I wouldnt call any of PS4 games masterpiece though, there are few amazing games, but nothing that did huge blow on industry direction.
Both have great exclusives and worth buying as long as you have pc for all the multiplats
Both
>No Ape Escape 4
Holy fucking shit, what a trainwreck
PS4 by far. At least when the PS3 released, it "only did everything." Backwards compatability helped with a weak library early on and stuff like being able to stream movies off of my computer with it made it seem like a decent purchase still. Then, the PS3 got games and it became the best console of last gen by far.
The PS4 has no games and still is lacking some functions the PS3 has. It's literally been collecting dust for me since I built my rig over 2 years ago. Only time I power it up is to play some Miku.
Seriously, the PS4 can't even play fucking audio files through it's web browser and has a completely shit UI. Not to mention the stupid controller has like half the battery life the DS3 had.
PS3 >>>>>>> PS4
Fuckin typo.
PS3 by far.*
I got the 60GB launch model bundle (with a 100€ discount though) because I outgrew the consolewarrior bullshit like most people and the Nintendo+Sony combination was always my to-go combination.
I wasn't really disappointed with the PS3, some games had huge loading times but the games were fun and it was kinda exciting for different reasons than the Wii.
Loading times in games got better and with time it actually got games. Early on the 360 was better, especially with the great XBL games but MS dropped the ball and most games got on PSN and PC too (except for the shmups regarding PSN, some got released on Steam by now)
PS4 doesn't have many exclusives, mostly some decent Vita/PS4 titles that also get releases on other platforms (Switch, PC).
Sony should've used the momentum for more games, it's not like the exclusives are shit. Even small games like Everybody's Golf are pretty good.
Tokyo Jungle sequel WHEN
Btw, how are the Xbox versions of Rare games (Conker, Banjo)? I never played those games and I still have the OG Xbox lying around and I guess a used 360 shouldn't cost much
The PS3:
- Can play PS1 discs
- Can play PS2 discs if you have the early model
- Comes in with a DLNA client
- Also doubles as a Blu-Ray player back when Blu-Ray players were still expensive as hell.
- Can rip your audio CD
- Can play SACDs
- Early models were good machines to learn / toy around with the Cell architecture until some attention whore called George Hotz decided to piss off Sony.
- Actually has a good library of exclusives later on
- Actually has a good library of exclusive weebshits that will never make it to the west
- Didn't cheap out on their WiFi chip.
- Doesn't have paid online
- Has the option to do non-DRM video (composite) output and audio (optical/RCA) output.
My PS3 saw a lot of use from me, and I still love it to this date. I've been hunting down used PS3 games.
My PS4 is just a VR porn machine.
3 was only a disappointment on launch, by the end of the generation it was probably my favorite, it had a fantastic library. While I do like my 4, it is kind of a Bloodborne box.
Tbf the online store for the PS3 used to be really good, and pretty fast.
I don't know wtf is wrong with Sony. Why would they intentially take a fucking baseball bat to the store's legs when that's literally the place they make money at. Seriously, who the fuck wants to go through the current PS3 store (or the PS4 one for that matter) actually? It's a fucking pain just to browse it.
Why would anyone waste money on overpriced PC when there is PS4 that offers better games, exclusives and experience overall.
PC is trash that nobody gives a fuck about.
PS4 is the only platform worth its money.
>No ape escape 4
both
Literally this.
The PS3 came after the PS2. Sony should have had that success to know what worked and what didn't, and they still came out with the PS3.
