Not necessarily. Not in every torrent client. The natural trend of people's upload speeds being much lower than their download speed makes this a bit more complicated too. Depend on computer and settings, uploading to too many people may be harmful enough to actually slow down your download speed. So you have people who will go out of their way to lower upload speeds to try to achieve highest download. Then there's all the people who don't even seed outside of when downloading.

With all that said, if you want the torrent, no reason not to get on it early. Even if you are downloading at awful speeds and it's a mess, you are at least downloading it at some speed and helping spread it some as well.

To add to that. Most clients won't give you full download speeds if you set your UL speed to something ridiculous like 1kbps. The higher your UL the more DL you get

Sure. But I don't mean that low. I mean when they are capable of let's say at least 180 kb/s and they limit to about 30 kb/s. I think most torrent clients would find that passable but they are throttling themselves hard.

in australia our upload speed is so trash (unless you are lucky enough to have the nbn) that there's no point uploading. like for me i download at 700kb/sec but i upload at about 15kb/sec at max. like, what's the point in seeding when my upload is so bad

What is the "fastest" torrent client then? I'm using Qbittorrent currently and basically capping my net speed. I can't imagine using any other client or doing anything would make things go faster.

thats impressive. Personally I tested a few and Its BitComet. 10% faster than the rest. it uses some tactic to speed up shit that was banned on other clients. I will try yours but

Qbittorrent is pretty much an open source Utorrent. I haven't tried all the clients out there to compare all the speeds, I might have used Bitcomet forever ago. Then again I don't see why most clients with the proper settings wouldn't be able to download at close to max speed on a healthy torrent.

That's another important part, on a torrent like this, it's gonna be a miracle if I get any sort of decent speed, but only because we have thousands of people fighting to get things from only a handful.

It has pretty much nothing to do with Utorrent other than having a similar interface, it's superior in every other way and I genuinely think it's the best client for overall usage (if you aren't just running a linux server just for torrenting).

Also TPB is just fine for torrenting still, though I'd say private trackers are where it's at. If you want the real tip for the one Private Tracker that is not too hard to get into and will open the doors for how much content is out there, that would be IPT.

I don't care about speed. Even if I have to download all my obscure movies at 6kbps as long as they'll get there at the end of the day I'm a happy camper.
