That cave is in World 1, they didn't remove the tileset from the snes version but just held it back and saved it as an end game cave tileset. Imho, they made the right choice. World 1 isn't suppose to have space caves when the overworld was plains, forests, and hills.

The obvious answer is Giant Land. I've always had a soft spot for Sky Land because it's super cool that you start on the ground and go into the clouds.
