This game looks pretty cool, but
>early access
is it worth it, or should I just wait until proper release?
This game looks pretty cool, but
If you have to ask this question then just wait for proper release.
wait until it's done, don't support the early access meme
EA is never worth it.
It's almost out of early access at this point, pretty solid game overall, i'd recommend it.
Looked and felt solid when I last played. Wait for release.
game is fuckin ungodly underrated. shits great. most content is there.
>underrated
it's not
game is pretty much mainstream now
It's worth it now. Even though it's still technically in "early access," the game has been almost complete for a while now. Every few weeks you'll have to deal with an update that will add a level/change the level progression/rebalance the weapons and items, and these can be some pretty serious changes, but the game is still pretty much complete at this time and very much worth it
It's nearing final release and will get a Switch port.
So you can buy now or wait for the Switch version
Whatever you pick, it stays a great game.
It's an excellent game as is, but I don't tend to like to support early access either unless I know the product is really solid. Pirate >>> play >>> buy is what I'd recommend if you're on the fence.
Why post if you know nothing about the game in its current state?
If you like the genre, get it. It's fun
If it's almost out of EA, then is there any release date? Maybe it would make more sense to just wait a bit longer in that case.
It's a cool game. Update this week, too.
I kinda want more lore
Pirate it and see by yourself
Dev said simultaneous release(PC,PS4,Switch,Xbone) second half of 2018
Is pretty much better than everything Bloodstained ever wished to be.
it's really not worth getting.. it's just a shitty version of any actual 2d metroidvania from recent years. buy rabi ribi, hollow knight, or momodora reverie under the moonlight instead, they're all literally 100x better
I still haven't played rabi ribi, is it really that good? It looks kind of like a meme desu.
...
This game is so good it confirmed for me how much I hate procedural generation. I could never be sure before I wasn't just playing a bad game that happened to include procedural generation, but this time, no, it's clear it's the killer.
The core mechanics are satisfying and being forced to change up your weapon every run is a neat idea on paper, but the weak, samey level and enemy design necessitated by ensuring anything can be fit anywhere at any time because it's always random sucks the life out of this game, and the weapon pool gets too diluted thanks to uneven balancing.
>Hear about a new game
>"Oh wow. This looks pretty cool. I can't wait to try it out and see wh-"
>"Rogue-like"
>Dropped
I can't wait for this trend to pass
In my case, the early access version was worth the price even if it never gets updated again.
That's how I look at early access single player games. Buy it only if you'd be happy without any further updates.
EA multiplayer is fucking bullshit through and through, though, due to fracturing the playerbase.
Same, this was the game that made me add "Roguelike" "Rogue-lite" and "Procedural Generation" to my list of tags to ignore on Steam.
Instead of chasing the game you can play forever, I'd rather talented devs try to make the game you want to replay forever instead. You can beat any Metal Slug game in an hour but (combined) I've probably racked up 100+ hours across the first three games in the series.
What's wrong about "enemy design" in DC? It's not an issue for me, enemies are varied enough between areas and they feel good to fight.
get rekt
You must feel really smart right now.
Not enough content. I started playing yesterday and everything already feels samey. Also the game is poorly balanced, beat the hand of the king on my eight run with 2 turrets, the flame toss thing and spamming roll like I was in Dark Soul 3.
The enemies are definitely the lesser of the game's two weaknesses, and mostly made worse by how bad the level design is. There's some good variety, and the game's good about visually coding enemies so you recognize who you're up against and what to do, but the mobs can get samey after awhile since they tend to show up in certain configurations over and over. After restarting for the Nth time, I started to get sick of all the low-level dudes you need to churn through. I get that this is part and parcel of the run-based game, but it still became a chore for me.
Also for some reason the guy who designed the ramparts thought you really needed ten million of those flying dudes all in one room. They're easily dealt with but was that really the best they could come up with? Spam an enemy several dozen times in a tight space?
user, you are only proving his point.. . .
You can just run past through the scrubs in the first levels. In fact doing so will probably allows you to get past the timed gates and get scrolls and money as a reward.
If you don't like it, add a boss cell or two so that enemy variation will change (plus the chums will get more dangerous as well).
Bought the game because the animation is fantastic. Still waiting for final release to play it.
>playign weeb shit.
I wanna puke every time i see another cheap animu girl picture.
It´s really good.
Everyone who hates it just doesn´t like the animu graphics
kys
stop ruining the industry and fucking wait
It's lots of fun, I played it for like 50 hours pirated before I bought it
>pirating indie games
How is supporting good early access games ruining the industry?
Just stop buying the shit ones.
How can you even fuck up a black forest cake ?! There's at least three times too much cream everywhere and the cake is white. Maraschino cherries are also a dead giveaway that the baker had no idea what they were doing. I'm fucking mad.
