FF9 and X-2 had card games I think. Nothing spectacular though.

And for the most part, the majority of pendulum decks are shit outside of one specific deck.
There were only pendulum decks that were actually broken outside of hand vomit.

pends were super shit tho, they were only good when konami released really broken support for them and after they got hit they returned to mediocrity. The best decks of the pendulum era were Fusion and Ritual decks.

Link monsters wouldn't have been broken if not for the limitations set on every other extra deck monster.
But they decided to make them a way to bypass a much needed limitation AND give them an inherent ability that literally prevents your opponent from using extra deck monsters if you happen to have a turn one combo.

Does anyone actually like old yugioh? There were so many trash cards that werent worth using and it was horribly balanced. Everything now a days is playable right out of the gate and is always bound to get future support.

Most of its cards have no fucking synergy so they're all ignored in favor of the 2 actually good Madolche and the handful of bad draws you only run cause you need their levels.

Madolches are perfectly fine and most of their non-trap cards are usable. They have some good consistency, Messengelato lets you get out Chateau easily, Hootcake and Anjelly let you pull basically anything from your deck and the deck doesn't exactly have a hard time getting out Tiaramisu, at least by pre-Links standards. They were never the best deck in the game but there are certainly plenty of completely unsalvageable decks that would kill to have some of the stuff Madolches have, and they didn't get completely raped by Links like Ghostricks did.

There's literally no reason not to run at least one copy of JD in any LS build. Since the entire Lightsworn playstyle has always revolved around playing like a retard until you sack your way into a win, having that one JD waiting for the topdeck makes sense to me. I wish I was a spic so I could play LS effectively, but unfortunately the deck's magic doesn't shine upon white people.

Because konami is retarded, or at least they pander to retarded fans. The reason why most of the "rank 4 toolbox" cards that people actually use are non-destruction removal in the first place is because konami started by making every deck immune to/benefit from destruction. So then they injected 20 forms of easily accessible non-destruction removal to the game, which then resulted in them having to make stuff immune to non-destruction removal as well. The problem stems from retards not wanting to care about trades, advantage and other actual card game mechanics and just wanting to roleplay as Yugi from the tv show and win with their cool anime boss monsters, so if Turbo Mega Dragon can't stay on the field for 7 turns and win the game by itself they get angry.
