>"Hey gamer's check out our pirate's code before playing"
>It's SJW cuck shit you have to suspend disbelief for while playing as a pirate
>Mysteriously take game off steam and go on micoshit store? (aka we don't want user reviews)

It's doomed soyboy game

>windows 10 only

>hoping a good game fails because you're a faggot

Why? It's actually fun, so far the only good game this year.

it will bomb, win10 only is always a mistake.

>Mysteriously take game off steam
It was never on steam, the shitty assassin's creed version is though

This.

But before, Rare was known for creating countless IPs and almost all of them were near masterpieces.
>Blast Corps
>Jet Force Gemini
>Diddy King Racing
>Banjo
>Conkers
>Perfect Dark
Not to mention the greatest movie game ever - Goldeneye.

I want new IPs from them, I just miss the old rare.

>good

I'm extremely skeptical of that. After an hour of play, I experienced everything there was. Then my friends and I screwed around for a while, and came back for the beta only to find there was even LESS content. Until I see more, there's nothing else for me.

I hope it bombs because all "progression" in this game is purely cosmetic. what the fuck were they thinking?

The whole purpose of the game is to find chests and bounties, and attack other people, you can also become a trader.

Hoping a good game fails because you're too autistic to enjoy it is ridiculous

Supposedly it and the other MS games releasing this year are all $30. Guess they don't think people will pay $60 for something that's gonna be on game pass day 1.

>plays closed betas focused around stress testing the game.
>NO CONTENT!!1!!!

No shit, it's a beta, not a demo.

Shills in full force this morning I see

It's $80. Way too much for any game.

Fuck off, Ubisoft shill. Nobody want to play your shitty pirate game.

The server limit is so small that it's a long shot that you find anyone at all, so your only option is to grind out the exact same boring fetch quests in the vague hope that maybe you hit the 1 in a million chance that you get to do the fun part. Sounds like you're the autistic one.

>It's $80. Way too much for any game.
You sure? I thought it and State of Decay and Crackdown were $30.

I played through the alpha and the beta and constantly found people. Maybe you're just shit at the game.

That Rare has been dead and gone for years and the Rare MS owns exists in name only. Most of the staff who made those games jumped ship to form Playtonic or just retired. Anything new from them will never even have an ounce of the same charm their previous projects had

In Canada it's $80 at least. Don't know about the other games though, so you could be right.

They haven't announced any other content for the game either, everything else is just variations of the bullshit boring fetchquests and vauge bullshit about krakens. And if it's a stress test, why only 16 players a server (which they struggled with)? That's 3 other ships, and the final map will supposedly be much bigger.

Just face the fact that it's way too feature light to be worth the asking price.

Gather around and witness the Magestic Anonymous gaze into the future with the help of my glass ball.

I see.. I see... everybody sitting in silence looking at their phones because the sailing (see: 90% of this game) is incredibly tame and boring, seriously what the fuck were they thinking?

I hope it will be a hit so I can see Sup Forums crying about it.

So you're saying I should go full autistic and close my eyes to the utter lack of content, so I can make up everything myself...thank you Microsoft for creating yet another amazing "experience".

Btw the bets are still open on which game will fail harder this or Crackdown 3.

>which they struggled with
Because they were simulating server outages, basically pushing their network to the breaking point.

>$15 through game pass is too much
Just admit you hate fun.

Want to know how I know you're a soytendo?

no because I'm not an edgy faggot who wants people to lose their jobs.
Though, I do think this game will flop or will die quickly because of its repetitive loop, barebones content and aimless goal.
maybe if you could have some assassin's Creed brotherhood style or gtao CEO style mechanics where you can start your own business by saving up gold, buy an island and have your own pirate he, name your ship, your island, arm your island with defenses, have a sense of progression, etc

I reckon State of Decay 2 will do better than this game. It at least has a semi-endgame: to survive.

Yes, fuck off you selfish faggot.

Joke's on you, I'm a Sonyfag

>Vita
I hate Sony for killing this thing. Fuck it had so much potential

>B-but there's no market for portable console games
>Switch comes out
>Sony BTFO

I hope it doesnt bomb. Basically that will mean that rare is not dead along the rest of the IP buried at Microsoft and the game is a nice refresh to the open world ubitowers or multiplayer grindy stuff that is basically the base for every game right now.

> pushing their network to the breaking point
> 16 players
Absolute state

>mfw I got 2 years of gamepass thanks to t-mobile codes
>I will play this shit day 1 and no need to pay 60 bucks

>turning off servers
>intentiaonally throttling connections
>still manage to get players into situations where they're fighting with 3 to 4 other ships occasionally and at least spotting a few other ships consistently.

What, do you want the entire sea swarming with ships so you can never actually complete a voyage?

I think it will bomb or at least be below their expectations. Having it exclusively on Win 10 and Xbox cuts off everyone who has other versions of Windows, Mac and Linux (although the latter two wouldn't be that much of a loss). The price is extremely steep for what it is and the pricing in Europe is retarded ($60 but 70€, this is worse than $60 = 60€). I've read that they are keeping content for the full release but that I feel like that will discourage people from buying since they don't exactly know how much or little content the full release has to offer.

I wanted to buy this but I'm not getting Windows 10, fuck you Microsoft.

I will get Windows 10 for State of Decay 2 though

DAMN YOU MICROSOFT

They got some really cool tech tho. They have tons of instances open with shared weather and world states. That allows to move your entire crew to another server in case of people leaving the instance without a loading screen

I might shill this game, but that screen is basically a loading screen. You can't move while it's active.

less than 2 weeks to go, are reviews coming before launch day or they want to delay those?

>Muh sjw boogeyman

It might be a sucessful Twitch game which in turn will create a good game and sell millions regardless of quality

I'm looking forward to watching streams and eventually purchasing it based on viewercount

EVERYONE IS ON WINDOWS 10 M8

>muh realism
someone post one of the retard wojaks for me pls

>"game has no content"
Three different quest types that get progressively harder as you level your reputation
Reputation system that rewards players with pirate legend status, giving them legend quests and legend ships
Enviromental dangers like sotrms and Kraken
Several dozen explorable islands, all handcrafted, with random goodies to find beyond ship supplies
Several weapons to choose from, including boarding axes and harpoon cannons
Ship customization
Worlcwide events on fort raids, where players are allured to a single fort to fight hordes of skelletons to get the ultimate loot.
>"but no safe zones"
Casual tier excuse
>"but no progression besides cosmetics"
As if we need a +5 hat to make pay-to-win shitters feel good about themselves, shit tier excuse, knoledge and skill should trump numbers always.
>"but I played the game for 1 second and got bored"
You played a free beta test out of 6 they rolled out, alpha included, Rare is confident in their game, you are grasping at straws.

This board shits on this game for no reason, rename it to Sup Forums - Console War Shittery.

>actually believing this shit

How many viewers does game need for you to buy it? And if that count is greatly exceeded, do you purchase additional copies to your friends?

I don't have friends or time to make friends to play it with sadly. I feel like it will have too much content hidden for group play only

How can something be handcrafted and have random content at the same time? Checkmate!

Islands are handcrafted, the loot in it is random, foul play, that was just a check.

I'm sure this is baiting, but in case it isn't.

>hand crafted locations
>randomized loot within those locations.

Are the legends quests part of three different quest types, or an additional fourth type?

seems like an additional fourth type, you are given a secret hideout for legendary pirates only, there you can get a new npc that gives you those unique quests. No clue what they are though, they could be bounty missions to kill players, or hunt krakens or raid forts.

>windows 10 only

Shit is dead as hell. Already 100% irrelevant.

you buy it on xbox and get it for win 10.
what is your point?

>people who like things I don't are all shills
What a rich fantasy world you live in

Beanlands music in the game is so fucking good
this track sounds like fuckin SS Anubis from JFG
youtube.com/watch?v=g33-aFdfrgU

I'm happy Rare still got lots of soul left in them

>win 10 only
>Microsoft story ONLY so anyone with modified win 10 is fucked too
>retarded price
this game gonna flop hard

>win10 only
Not sure what they were thinking

Definitely going into my playlist

Do you same same thing when Sony releases PS4 exclusive? Win10 is just another MS platform they want to promote

Ever heard about exclusivity? Sucks to be a Sonybro. Go play your free bloodborn, so you can stop shitting up threads.

Anyway, Rare has been given shit jobs of making some licenced gamess tie-ins like a sex slave to microsoft. Now they get to spread their wings into making original stuff, with a decent team of devs, that hears feedback, genuinely cares about their product and are confident in it. This board is the only place that can't see the irony of their needless consoyle war bullshit.

>Sonybro
Did this fucking board just fucking censor nygger?

its just a replacement for sony + nigger.

I hate Sony too, I don't own shit from sony.

>win10

Can't you just use windows 7 or 8? Tons of windows 10 only programs work fine on 7/8.

>the map people played months ago in the alpha, and people played in the beta recently is the full map
Game is dead. Everyone saw everything to see.

I would definitely complain if Sony released a game for the PSTV specifically, when they could not do that and not ruin the potential of the game. Its like wanting a game for the Ngage in 2018.
That is the closest simile of what this garbage is.

>unironically thinking a game that will be popular among normie streamers is going to fail

If reviews are delayed or embargoed for any reason at all, the game is going to flop and the publisher knows it.
If you EVER see a delay or forced embargo on a game review, immediately disregard that game entirely.
Its just sound advice all anons should live by.

>Ever heard about exclusivity?
Yes, but microsoft clearly didnt

>TFW have sailing autism
>Love just sailing around on the waves, seeing whats out there even when its mostly just water.

This game is going to flop because it wont appeal to a lot of people. But for folks like me? Its the exact niche I want.

I think that the codes have already been sent. I expect to see some reviews next week.

I have a weird fascination with sailing knots. Just the idea and ingenuity of taking a rope and finding more and more complex and efficient ways to tie a knot with them.
It does something to my brain man.

Popular for a week maybe. All the streamers already put tens of hours into it, and they aren't changing shit
>awful respawn is staying
>awful melee combat is staying
>no real ship or player progression besides skins
>the end game Pirate Legend status is still skins
If there isn't like 50 players per server, and instead its the small as fuck

what is the obsession with the higher player count, servers have 1 ship per outpost so if you go at the start to a different cluster of islands you are guaranteed to find another crew doing voyages. Also, usually if you destroy an enemy ship they will know your location so they will keep returning to fight you. No point in filling the map if you would not be able to complete the quests..

That's a really good advice, thank you.

You sound like a miserable fuck.

You underestimate the abillity of streamers to milk the shit out of games for their failing twitch careers

>Three different types of fetch quests
>Progression means MTX
All I see is a lot of shilling, the game is boring as fuck mate

because the fun part of the game is PVP with ships. The PVP with guns is fucking awful, and melee is a joke because of some lame console auto lock camera.

They want 15-30 minute intervals between seeing players, meaning sailing around an empty ocean doing Red Eagle painting there, Three Skull Totem here, got the treasure shit puzzles.

Funny thing is that in the last test nobody streamed it because the game is boring

Saw plenty of streams on Twitch, no idea WTF you are talking about.

If the game is good why would you want it to bomb? Maybe they're learn that this game is what people want and make more like it.

>"The talent made Rare!
>Yooka Laylee is a bumbfuck average 3D platformer with bigger than Banjo-Tooie worlds and a stupid quiz mechanic everyone hated
>Actual Rare is making a game the press is massively hyped for and the closed betas have been fun and run really well on PC
>"NU-RARE MAKING GAYME FOR SOYBOYS"
Maybe if it was on a Nintendo console, people would praise it.

>10k streamers
sorry user but that's not a lot of streamers

A lot of people were streaming but nobody was watching, this game is dead.

>Small not very publicised betas the dev does with the forums to check server load tests compared to the big open weekend
>"NO VIEWERS GAME IS DEAD"
I smell seething

whatever makes you feel better, shill

Don't you have God Of Soy to shill?

I seriously will never understand why people don't like windows 10. Someone please explain this phenomenon to me

I'm too lazy to upgrade because 7 just werks and it's all set up

...

You'd have something if anyone of note from the BK team joined Playtonic, but they didn't so it's unfair to use that as evidence of your claim

>"Three different types of fetch quests"
Keep blatantly lying, cunt.

To be fair there are a couple of good hirings in Playtonic but mostly artist and justin cook (viva piñata the goat game) but why in hell Chris Sutherland and Gavin Price are doing the director/lead stuff, I mean a programmer who did voices (sounds) for BK and a QA leading the "Next Rare" lmao

Melee has hidden tech, the cutlass is very powerful (block + lunge maintains normal walk movement, lunge can propel you in water if you are touching solid ground, etc...), but most of its power comes from unintended interactions, so I don't really talk about that as a positive for the game, unless those techs make it into the final game.

The map has been teased to receive an increase in size, but some sources are unreliable. Thing is the real issue here is where people respawn, both ships and as players. Whenever you sink a ship, its up for the sunk crew to respawn their ship by touching the mermaid, if they don't they repeatetly respawn near the mermaid. Once the ship respawns its often 2 islands away from where the ship sunk. What this causes is repeated instances of fighting the same people over and over again, which is worrying when it comes to fort raiding, a new global event, where people will fight over the fort loot auntil someone gets it, but with people constantly respawning nearby, I think it will be too chaotic and frustrating. talked to some Pioneers that are testing the fort raiding right now but can't disclose it due to NDA, they tend to say that they mostly team up some untrustworthy aliances and share the loot in the end, but in a server full of players I think that wont work as well.

>the only game microsoft doesn't cancel is the free to play MMO they're charging for with microtransactions

wrong thread, wrong game.

But sea of thieves is the shitty pirate game with nothing but microtransactions and 5 minutes of gameplay.
