How are Nintendo fans this delusional? Games take years to develop. The reason why the Switch had a relatively high amount of first-party games in the first year is because those had been in development for years for the Wii U, and were then quickly repurposed as Switch games when the Wii U proved to be a colossal commercial failure. Since games take at least a few years to develop, I wouldn't be surprised if 2018 ended up being quite barren in terms of new first-party releases.

I don't think we'll see any big announcement since the E3 is near. If we have luck and Pokemon Switch is releasing this year, we should see something, since they like to show stuff little by little to build hype for the release.
I also expect some reminder that Kirby is releasing next week, and information on Xenoblade's story DLC.

yoshi release date seems like a likely announcement to me, there's been no news on that game since last E3 despite it looking to be quite far in development.
