Same
One of the few good things about the Teeth Guild in Skyrim is how it gets sexier the more jobs you do
You can build your own hub from the ground up in fo4
FO4 is AIDS
Dead Rising games
Mad Max game does this pretty well
.
>the Teeth Guild
Wat
Terraria
Mad max does a ton of thing really well and thats not one of them.
A branch of the thief guild, they break into homes and steal people's teeth
That sounds absolutely horrifying and incredibly painful.
Starbound
The dragon age games
Some of the Lego games
Pillars of eternity
don't fuck with the tooth fairy, bitch
FO4 would have been better without that basebuilding shit
>You can get a huge ship/airship/submarine that pretty much acts as a moving personal base
I fucking love this but it's pretty uncommon to see.
To name a few games :
Bravely Default, FF3, Subnautica
it was comfy upgrading the ship in Mario Odyssey
fallout 4 with sim settlements
so much detail it blew my mind.
jej'd
anyone remember this gem?
what the fuck is that, another sony attemp to copy zelda?
Digimon World
True but it's a shame that there's basically nothing there.
it wasnt as good as I remembered. Slogging through dungeon floors got really old. The sequel added much more refined mechanics too
The idea was really, really good but having to "start over" from area to area got tiresome after a while, I'd rather they made one huge hub.
Disgaea
Crossroad Keep from NWN2 / SoZ is still unsurpassed in this regard.
my niggas
Would be nice if it didn't take only about three hours to max it out
played that whole whole to get the fucking haystacks to turn into flower stacks like florence and it didn't happen. fuck you ubisoft.
>Gain ownership of a castle
>Spend time and money gradually upgrading it
>Attracts people and soldiers
>Holds back the wave of evil at the end of the game
>Banner stands tall
NWN2 was fucking gold, I need to go back and replay it
Kind of hoping Pillars of Eternity plays out the same way but given how easy the castle is I'm doubting it is
Its a decent game.
But weapons breaking the second someone look at them funny got annoying.
there's a really fun war quest after you get the castle that has you and all your hirelings fight but it's still not as cool as nwn2
Not sure I want to read that given I only just started act 2
Just saying that there will be a fight quest partially involving the castle
Was that in one of the expansions? Cause I've heard the main module is pretty shit like the first game.
mad max
Main game. The game is pretty good but I hear the DLC is massively better which is probably why people say that
I stopped after beating the main game and never played the DLC so I need to go back and do all of it
It's in both the main campaign and the expansion Storm of Zehir
Well I read it and that sounds pretty decent. Was kind of hoping that PoE would match NWN2's focus on the castle in the story but you can't have everything.
Got it. I've played it a bit but the game never really caught me the same way NWN1 did, even though it's pretty much a better game in every way.
Man now I really want to give it a try again.
Before I spend like 1 hour in the character creator and quit the game 5 hours later because I'm unsure about my character.
Neat.
Step Aside
Teeth is faster to type.
which Lego games homie
I love these. Whenever I reinstall Minecraft I get one of the mods that lets me turn shit into vehicles.
>Before I spend like 1 hour in the character creator and quit the game 5 hours later because I'm unsure about my character.
Holy shit are you me?
Didn't really like just how grey everything looked.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II
Clearly people don't care about hubs that do more as the game progresses, just look at the replies.
>Artificially hold back content based on arbitrary completion % that makes no sense lore wise
>Forces you to hold off on spending resources so you have them for when the good shit unlocks
I think the remaster gave everything a bit more color
>being addicted to higher numbers
Shut up Todd
Unironically the best part of the game. Just wish it did more.
And if you "hit the numbers" you're never going to be attacked. If you DO get attacked, though your idiot serfs run out of cover to melee the super mutants.
Pretty sure Ni No Kuni 2 is going to have something like this? Steam store's screenshots had town building.
MGSV should've done this with Mother Base.
MGSurvive is doing it with dirt and duct tape.
Thanks Todd.
What are some games with decent basebuilding? I kinda enjoy the way Rust (shit as it is) and Subnautica go about it, finding a cool place to start building and slowly expanding the usefulness of your base as time goes by.
If only there was a thread which already had answers to this
I figured I'd specify the kind of basebuilding I meant and not stuff like Pillar of Eternity's "click to build things while you're away"
Fallout 4. It's a shit game but you can wrestle some fun out of the base building usually. If you get some mods of course.
>you can see your funds visibly accumulate
more games need to do this, I love staring and money
Sea of Thieves kinda does this since you spawn on your ship, plus they've promised us upgrades.
I hope they do something like pic related too, the whole point is to get gold so it'd be nice to see it all in a big pile
bump
Look up "Planet nomads"
Exactly the opposite for me, I hate games in which money has basically no meaning other than hoarding it. I like when it's an essential resource and you have to chose on what to spend what you have.
>Game is set in a snowy environment
>Can upgrade your home to have a fireplace
maximum comfy
I like both. I like having something you can hoard (and see that hoard grow), but I love that resource you get la few of in a game so every time you find it you get that little kick of excitement and know you can use it to get something good.
7 days to die.
MG Survive actually does this.
I played starbound in its early stage and tried to play it again now.
I'm so lost right now.
>Have all of that just to have Caesar wreck your shit in Brotherhood
T-thanks
thats why it's a stealth survive thread, user. don't tell anyone
SoT might do that if they figure out how to charge you for respawning your ship or restocking your supplies, reduce the bananas/cannonballs/etc spawned on islands so that way you're inclined to head back to an outpost, cash in your contracts, restock, and gauge your profits.
>music starts off super simple and gets more layers as the town upgrades
...
>ctrl+f suikoden
>0/0
what in the blazes
What gaym?
True
Suikoden 2 is the game you're looking for. Best hub ever.
>Hub world starts off empty with only a handful of people
>Grows as you progress
>Becomes lively and homely, full of allies and merchants
>eventually becomes empty again as people die or just disappear all together
I have a notebook full of game design and art for my game, but I'm too lazy to start actually making it.
This hubworld thing is at the very first pages.
>"hi, I'm an idea guy!"
I'm not an idea guy because I'm not sharing my idea. I'm a lazy game dev.
You're not a dev unless you dev.
You can call me nodev like /agdg/ does.
I've dev'ed before though. Now I have a job instead, but I keep this notebook in case I'll one day finally realize it.
We need hub worlds again. I miss them.
Fuck.
Sos padre?
I agree
do it in the weekends like the rest of us dreamers you fag. If you don't start living now, you'll grow old and realise you waited your whole life for a moment you didn't create.
But I do drugs on the weekends.
Overlord II had it right with the Tower / Mistress thing
Code in the morning, do drugs at night
No wonder you'll never do anything of worth then, if you'll rather do drugs than work on your dream.
My brother. Suiko 2 was my first RPG and first PS1 game I had.
The fact that the series is dead made me hate Konami before anyone else did.
It's not my dream.
>teeth guild
Holy shit someone make this a mod.
DayZ
(The mod not the game)
>t. low number pleb
