What games ending five you the biggest depression?
What games ending five you the biggest depression?
The fifth ending of Drakengard is pretty fucked up. Not many games have that many endings though user.
Steins;Gate bummed me the fuck out. If VN's don't count, then Xillia 2.
FFXV
>What can I say? You guys... are the best...
Not a big one, but the 3 endings of Sundered. Three endings and no one is happy
Not the ending, but every recruitment scene in Valkyrie Profile
LISA
Persona 4
>lol I'm moving back to the city :)
>Not sacrificing yourself and subjecting your soul to bear an eternal barrage of negative emotion to save humanity
Come the fuck on
Kingdom Hearts 358 days/2
>Who else will I have ice cream with
Kind of a dumb line but still sad
>Fucking up the entire timeline by simply existing
Being Tatsuya is suffering
>No Persona game where the 1 and 2 characters come in out of the blue all grown up and slap the shit out of the whippersnappers for fooling around with personas/getting tricked by Phil
If P4 is anything to go by, the Shadow Ops apparently have some P2 guys as members.
>axel not trying to break down completely
>just wants to be with his friends
>"no one would care if i left."
that's not true. i would
Advent Rising
>Today's will finally hit the beach
That shit destroyed me cause he really thought he could have a normal life
P3's ending was bittersweet as fuck.
Ending D of NieR will always have me fucked up
the game over screen to hat in time
I teared up a little because I'll never be able to be as happy and content in her sleep as hat girl because all i can think of while laying in bed is how much of a colossal fuck up i am
Mass Effect. Forever and always.
>getting so depressed over an ending you lose an entire night's worth of sleep staring in horror at the ceiling
You don't know true depression unless this happened to you after beating a video game because that's exactly what happened to me
A boring answer, but MGS3.
The way in which they make the ending feel like a hollow victory by having you unwittingly help the Patriots is nothing short of brilliant.
Spec Ops: The Line, all three of the LISA games, Silent Hill 3's bad ending
Every time I finish a route in a VN I feel empty as fuck
SOMA
You realize Catherine is the unsung hero of the story because she has to be. She knows she isn't going anywhere so she gives herself a purpose to stall the inevitable end of her existence by enbarking on a journey with noble meaning. Her monologue in the climber is a sad realization of the obvious, neither she nor her copy on the Ark will ever experience the childish psychedelic realness of life once again now that she is a grown up.
The existence of Dead Space 3
MGS5
for all the wrong reasons.
Super Paper Mario
I know they're happy together but the implication and possibility was just sad.
