Don't listen these It's because they're two different engines. Tenkaichi uses an engine where modeling characters is hilariously easy. Even hobby modders can create a shitload of new characters.
Meanwhile DBFZ uses ArcSys unique UE modelling technique where every frame you see is a different 3d model with specific shaders.
That technique however makes creating characters a huge chore and only swapping colors is easy.
You might see some DBFZ mod videos but they always look like shit in comparison to the real deal.
tl:dr ArcSys' rendering technique doesn't allow for many characters.
auto combos have an incredibly limited use in a few optimal combos, you'll certainly get no use "spamming" them and they are hopeless in the neutral game
for example Vegeta's most damaging BnB requires you to end it with 3 hit auto combo because if you attempt to the combo manually he doesn't float high enough to hit the ender

It isn't just the lack of movement options its also defensive options and the neutral.Allmost no characters can actually use their special moves in neutral and link them into meaningful damage. I can't play this game without feeling most of the cast playing like another another from other fighting games. Its a fun game, but not as good as Guilty Gear , third strike or MvC3.

Plink dashing and wave dashing would be retarded in a game where characters have runs instead of dashes.
Yamcha's autocombo is pushback on block and can be canceled to special even on LLL as long as the last hit hasn't landed yet.
Triangle jump was specific to certain characters that can fly in MvC, plink dashing is a MvC only thing because several other anime fighters don't have any dash activated with buttons. They weren't "removed" that would imply it was ever an option or there was a game preceding DBFZ in a series.

OP is stating that it lacks the movement options that MvC3 offered. Things like Chicken blocking and wave dashing are some of the many game mechanics not implemented in this game.

Again Wave dashing/plink dashing were specific to Marvel so why would they be implemented? It sounds like OP expected MvC with DBZ characters and got a standard anime fighter instead.
Honestly the only mechanic i really don't like is assists. they extend blockstrings way too much. It's a really fun game.

The game doesn't exactly play itself like some people think but it does use auto combos as a legit mechanic.

It's not actually Homing though, it's float. LLL in the air makes your character float higher with each hit, which is helpful especially for combos that need to jump cancel after a j.2H. It's not common but there are combos where it's better to LM instead of LL because of this.
Sadly in many ways auto combo is heavily integrated in the game, sadly, even in high level play.
The now-standard Cell corner S loop, for example, takes advantage of the fact that auto combo has a "suction" effect which makes sure that mashing auto combo is easy and guaranteed to land.

No, its homing like he said, the autocombo corrects itself no matter where you are in terms of height. If you catch the opponent in the air with a jab that has a downward hitbox like A.Gohan and said opponent is below you, the rest of the autocombo will still home on him.

There are several examples to counter your argument. For example you can’t do LL jc LL on Frieza after 2H pursuit if you want dual tail hits on both. You gotta do LM on the first one at least. Otherwise you will float too high.

That's because the autocombo only corrects itself for the full autocombo sequence, not a half autocombo into another button, the correction doesn't take any other buttons thrown in there into account. It assumes you're gonna finish the whole sequence and puts you in the correct height for the rest of the autocombo hits to land, nothing else.
And thats logical if you think about it. If they implemented full height correction on half finished autocombo into other stuff the game would be somewhat broken considering some ki attacks and other buttons have weird/unconventional hitboxes.
It still is very versatile and makes certain combos possible due to the height correction.

DBFZ has more combo variety than SFV. There are lots of easy bnbs but in SFV, almost always, the easy bnb is also the optimal huge damage/corner carry combo.
