Marty O'Donnell is a straight god.
>dudebros
Can you please go back to neogaf, you pussified little queer?
All Halo games have good music, minus anything made by 343.
dudebros didnt play halo CE
also marathon is better
Only the first game had music tho
Halo 5 had great music and while it was minimum Halo 4 had a good music.
*Halo 4 had some good music
both of them are absolute shit compared to any of Marty's music
I really hope Golem doesn't suck. It is a VR game after all. But at least we'll get music out of it if nothing else.
Also last Christmas day we finally got to hear his magnum opus.
youtube.com
At this point I don't even care anymore if Bungie completely runs Destiny into the ground, it will have been worth it for this.
>dudebros didnt play halo CE
So what, it's not like it was the worst music in video game history, some of the music in those games sounded good. Maybe you should stop doing so much dick sucking for a studio that you grew up with so damn much. Halo 4 and 5 didn't have music on Halo CE-3's level but they still had good music in their own right.
dudebros weren't really big until the 360 era. ce is older than most of the people posting on this website now.

>tfw first time playing 343 Guilty Spark
Myth games did it better
>sucking a studios dick
343 shill detected, I never said anything about Bungie. I just said 4 and 5 have shit music compared to anything made by Marty.
And I said that they don't compete with Marty but some of the music in those games sound good in their own rights. How old were you when you first played Halo and what was your first Halo game?
I can tell you're a /vg/ circlejerking fag, but Halo CE was my first Halo.
What's wrong with 343 Halo?
1. I hate /vg/
2. How old were when you played Halo CE?
Same here
>Played Halo CE when it came out
>Liked the series up until Halo 5
It honestly would be way easier to answer what ISN'T wrong with it
Literally everything
For Halo 4 it was anything that wasn't the campaign, for Halo 5 it was the campaign, no split screen, and no lan. For Bungie shills it's because it wasn't made by Bungie who they still cherish for some reason even though Reach, Destiny, and Destiny 2 clear show that they lost their direction and vision.
>dudebros
The people I knew who played Halo were more of the nerdy type. Fat, glasses, midwest buzzcut, and they thought listening to heavy metal made them cool. And also listening to Halo music, of course.
stupid dudebros weren't touching that shit with a 28 and a half foot pole, though.
The campaign in 4 was shit
Oh boy, so many things rushed to my head, I'm finding it hard to write down in a single post
honestly they're fine games on their own but it's impossible not to compare them to the bungie games and they don't even come close to those
I don't think anyone cherishes Bungie anymore after they made Destiny and fired Marty.
It was decent and better than what Bungie were shitting out after Halo 3. I don't blame them for ODST since that was Microsoft doing, but fuck nuBungie for Reach and beyond.
Oh, they're still some retards on Sup Forums that ask for Bungie to come back to Halo, even if it is a small amount.
Even Reach is better than 4. Everything about 4 is awful.
I found Reach to be meh just as much as anyone, and the book raping to be infuriating, but Halo 4 was still far, far worse.
The whole cortana MC love story was absolutely retarded, and an entire new race with new weapons just ended up being carbon copies of guns already in the fucking game
I liked Reach a lot. 4v4 was wasn't great, but I had a lot of fun with my friends on BTB. The Spire is one of my favorite multiplayer maps ever.
I found Reach to be dogshit and the worst Halo game in the series, none of the Reach fanboys could even prove me wrong that Reach was the worst Halo game yesterday.
I really liked the multiplayer though. Armour lock drove people fucking insane for some reason
If we're just talking campaign, Reach is above 4 solely because it doesn't have teleporting bullet sponges with massive shields in areas with no plasma pistols. 4's campaign is a horrible, tedious grind unless you've got the catch skull on to break the promethean AI.
Didn't even like that.
>dudebros
you mean console kiddies/casuals
>All Halo games have good music, minus anything made by 343.
4 and 5 had great music
Halo: Reach had terrible repetitive gameplay where you're thrown into Firefight mode in the campaign about 20 times and then you have to press a button, you have stupid on-rails Falcon sections, enemies are bullet sponges, level designs are straight up terrible and linear, a ridiculous amount of cockteases, one of the worst storylines in the series, most of the characters are bland, the game finally has a plot on the second to last level, and the game acts like Halo CE-3 doesn't exist while also face fucking the novels to death. The game felt like nuBungie trying to shit on Joe Staten's and Microsoft's work because Bungie became bitter assholes.
>liked 4
Get the fuck out of here
Why did they call it that anyway?
I still have that shit on dvd. Cant believe it walmart use to sell that shit
sprint
jumpacks
groundpound
artstyle
music
writing
plot
lootboxes
Most of the sponges in Reach go down in two or three shots at most. They're nowhere near as bad as 4's, which take several magazines. Four also has the repetition and button pressing problems. Agreed on the rest though, I don't think Staten even worked on Reach and it shows.
ODST was good though.
Sure, the walking around for missions felt weird to begin with, but in retrospect I'd argue it's probably the most underrated halo game made.
>this wasnt in the final game
>the game would've been drastically better had Marty been on the project
>we wont ever get something this amazing again for a long long time
>QTEs
>Those stupid armor abilities
>Lack Luster and boring level design in Promethean stages
It's a bad halo game, couldn't push myself to play it again in the MC collection.
>I don't think Staten even worked on Reach and it shows
He didn't, Marty said the team didn't care when making Reach and it showed. Marty said it felt weird because he wanted the team to give it their all like they did in the rest of their games but the Reach Team just didn't care.
It was meh at best.
>On-rails bullshit
>>Those stupid armor abilities
>>Lack Luster and boring level design in general
I can say the same for Reach and I'm glad it wasn't included in the MCC.
Actually 40 of the 48 minutes has been incorporated into the game. But this was meant to be a prequel to the game. A way to introduce people to the world of Destiny and for the devs to draw inspiration from. It was also meant to be the basis for the music of the entire franchise. Needless to say we are way past that.
I think they still have amazing music but it's just not the same without Marty.
Well, Michael Salvatori is really good and he worked with Marty for a long long time. I'm glad that Destiny will at least consistently make good / great music thanks to him, but I won't touch D2 until they overhaul that garbage.
Halo CE, 12. All the kids in the neighborhood were like 3 years older then me. Played goldeneye, perfect dark, and halo, e ended though crazy religious parents didn't want me to.
>sprint
yeah it's kinda shitty and they should just up the base movement speed, but nowhere near as bad as other games with sprint
>jumppacks
I assume you mean thrusters and those are good things
>Ground pound
Again, a good thing
>artstyle
yep
>music
Eh, it's alright
>writing
Oh yes
>plot
same thing
>lootboxes
They really should just confine it to warzone shit instead of armor unlocks
Halo 4's campaign was trash and totally killed Halo for me. So glad I bailed before the dumpster fire that was 5.
I think Skye Lewin is the new Audio Director but yea the audio/music team is still pretty great even without Marty. They also had some great colaborations for ROI and D2.
But somehow it just doesn't feel the same. Although I think that's mostly due to the general change in direction of the entire franchise and studio. They never should have let Staten leave because my god are they stumbling hard without him.
It had some cool moments like the mission with the Elephant, and flying the Longsword.
Prometheans are shitty enemy types to fight though.
>Halo 4's campaign, better then reach.'s
Unironically KYS.
4/10
We used to say that all the time around here
ODST was god tier
>Thrusters and ground pounds
>good things
Pick one and only one.
Funny, I was the same age and played the same games.
It was decent and I hoped 343 would get better after it, not worse.
You should kill yourself for believing any part of Reach's campaign was good.
Compared to CE-3 it was meh.
Destiny 2 has some decent music

My main gripe with Halo 5's music is there's too much focus on strings.
Hopefully they fixed that in Halo 6.
I agree. Hollyday is my favorite one.
forgot the link

Don't get me wrong when it worked it worked great. Halo 5 has the best theme rendition in the entire series.
youtube.com
It just became a mess, though I give the team some credit the audio mixing is tons better than that of Halo 4.
I can't wait to hear the Halo theme in Halo 6.
Since when was Gregorian chanting considering "New Age" music?
you could try listening to any of those tracks in the OP
>he thinks dudebros are stupid
is this what you think to yourself to ease the pain of knowing one had fucked/is fucking your oneitis?
