I'm living with a woman who has a kid (he's not my son), and I caught him with the TV on watching DBS, so we began a conversation about it.
He liked the visuals, which were bright and colorful (end of Battle of Gods' arc), and he didn't pay much attention to the drawings, but he certainly enjoyed the voice acting in Portugal, so I decided not to introduce him to the Japanese version, because he can't read english yet.
He told me that there was too much to keep up with, so I wanted to introduce him to the manga, but was reminded that I have it in some other language.
I showed it to him anyway, so that he knew that Dragon Ball started that way, and he asked me if I could read it to him.
I was in awe, but then I told him to wait one week before I got him something, and this is when I ask for the help of any Portuguese fan.
Are the Portuguese editions of Dragon Ball being sold until the last chapter?
I want to buy him one book per week to mimic the situation of then.
Teach him English instead of stuffing his head with useless weeb shit.

I think you're on the wrong board OP. But here's what I found for Brazilian DB publication, which would presumably be in Portuguese.
>The first volume of Dragon Ball manga was published in Brazil in December, 2000, by Conrad Editora. Instead of publishing the original 16 volumes of Dragon Ball, Conrad split the volumes in half, at 100 pages each, for a total of 32 volumes. A new volume was published every two weeks. Dragon Ball Z’s original 26 remaining volumes were split in half again, for a total of 51 volumes. Therefore 83 volumes in total, instead of 42. The content was kept in its original Japanese format, read from right to left, although it was censored. Dragon Ball was the first manga to be kept in its original format in Brazil. This publication concluded in October, 2003.
>Then in June, 2005 Conrad began to release the Dragon Ball Ultimate Edition, inspired by the kanzenban (“perfect edition”) in Japan, with 34 intended volumes. This ended at volume 16 because of company restructuring.
>The series was then picked up again by Planet Manga, a subsidiary branch of the Italian publisher Panini Comics, and continued in May, 2012.

Don't judge Conrad, they literally started the manga market on Brazil.

Is it impossible to get into DBZ if you didn't grow up with it?
When you’re married, you lose the right to “exercise [your] freedom of choosing a better partner.” When you do that, it is your partner’s God-given duty to do something about it, to enforce that vow by dealing with your side dude, or divorce you altogether because no one wants an unfaithful piece of shit. Letting some rando deflower your significant other like that and being like “herp derp i’m still married to her who’s laughing now” is like having renal failure while still saying you have two kidneys. You’re not fooling anyone. It showcases a shell of the sliver of man or woman you were before.
