No other game has given me this feeling, what makes this game so good?
Finish playing this for the fourth time

Freedom of mechanics. Spent an entire game building a sniper character then right near the end of the game I got a GEP gun and had enough points to max out heavy weapons. Played through the last 2 levels like a rocket launcher wielding badass. Immediately felt the urge to replay it and chose the GEP gun as my starting weapon from Paul. Tried to play the first level as I always had, stealthily and killing few troops. Fucked up the stealth in the first 5 seconds and just went fuck it and stormed the front gates of the statue of Liberty with a rocket launcher, expecting to die of course. It worked. I even ran out of rockets and bullets by the end and had to finish the level with only LAMs, that worked too. Finished Liberty Island in about 5 minutes and spent the rest of the game playing as a Schwarzenegger style tank. Then I replayed the whole thing in a full non-lethal stealth run using mostly the tranq crossbow and pepper spray.
you sound like you're on the spectrum
Stop praising Deus Ex so much.
I used to play the original demo disc of this game all the time when I was younger, just started replaying/actually playing it and finished Liberty Island. Any beginner tips? I'm going for Rifles/Computers/Electronics/Pistols in general and sneaking. If I get spotted I go lethal.

So your going with a very common build then? most people do something like that, it's very easy, especially considering how much pistol ammo the game throws at you. The game gives you the freedom to play however you want for the most part. Non-lethal is quite hard but possible. Currrently trying a heavy weapons and tranq focused build.
EXPLORE
tons of little secrets that are satisfying to find.
also if you want to find some of the really good stashes in the game then you might want to think twice about using lockpicks/decoders to get in backdoors (i.e. the easier way), since you likely won't have enough later.
there's also a ton of stuff you can do if you get creative and mess around. including killing bosses before you're supposed.
also turn off subtitles. it can spoil some things for you ~mid game-ish.
You don't need any tips for this game. It is easy enough that you really can't fuck up your "build".
what the fuck
I think it's less about not making a viable build, but getting the most of what you're using.
MJ12 Troop: *coughs*
...
play the nameless mod
is it good?
on par with DX
That's a pretty big claim
>beat every deus ex 10 times
>except the OG
>all because no controller support
My accuracy and movement with KBM is so fucking trash it affects my performance in game and puts me off
smoking kills, just not cyborgs.
acquire skills
trust me, i... i know everything
Mathematically likely
>playing soyboy punk when Thief gold edition exists
anyone else hungry?
Is Mankind Divided worth playing? I've heard mixed things about it, but nothing but rave reviews for the og
uniliterally this
I'm playing it right now and i'm not impressed. It is a step back from HR in terms of quality.
It has good level design but thinks going stealth is about hacking a console every 3 steps.
AI is borderline broken.
NPCs don't give feedback on your actions.
They say even the story is unfinished.
Still decent, but it is pretty bad for a deus ex game
Hey thanks for the honest answer. I watched an LGR review for the original that really sold it, and will probably hold out to play that one first
>and will probably hold out to play that one first
different user, but you should absolutely start with the first game. I won't say it's leaps and bounds above the Jensen games since I rather liked both of them, but it's undoubtedly the best game to start the series with

MY COUNTRY TIS OF THEE
Played the shiiiiit out of GMDX today. Getting ready for the second Versalife visit. Love finding new shit and trying to figure out if it was added by the mod or if I just missed it in my first (vanilla) playthrough.
What's the deal with the locked building by the bar in New York? It didn't seem like there was anything significant in there, I thought maybe I was missing a hidden room or something, but couldn't find a switch. Only thing I thought of but didn't try was trying to light some candelabras with a flare. Door was blocked on second visit to NY
