What are your genuine concerns for this game? And I'm not talking about "I am worried about this world and that world not being in KHIII." I mean based on what we've seen from the trailers and the interviews of Nomura and the development team. What are you worried about or concerned about?
Kingdom Hearts 3
That the worlds will be big but ultimately empty.
KH2 was a mistake
Days and Re:Coded are objectively the only good games of the series.
I just want Donald and Goofy to be as useful as they were in KH1 again.
>implying donald ever survives to be useful
...
Don't mind me, just developing KH3 in my cozy office down in Osaka, Japan.
...
>PC with 10 titans
>34 FPS
>no Indiana Jones world
Said noone with taste ever.
34 millisecond of input lag, not fps
I'm worried if the combat will be floaty or not
and by floaty, I mean what is experienced in BBS and DDD where you attack in the air and there is a pause where you are stuck n the air for a second
it ruins the flow of going from air combos to ground combos or consistent air combos
if it ends up being floaty, then I will at least hope that after air dashing you will just plummet to the ground for safety and not be wide open in the air with no way to defend yourself
Don't be so critical while it's in development. We estimate the game with run with at least 4 less FPS on launch.
Wish granted, but it's based off of Crystal Skull and Mutt is your ally while Indy only appears in cutscenes.
I am worried about this world and that world not being in KHIII.
WHEN YOU WALK AWAY
Judging by 0.2's gameplay, your fears are going to come true.
How long were nomura and his team dicking around until they decided to make KH3? 2016 right?
I’m mostly worried about combat being too hectic, and I’m worried about the resource system. I hated kh2s resource system
How good will he be in Sm5sh
...
are those monsters peeing on the fires to put them out?
Yeah but I still have some hope
its been a whole year since 0.2 so hopefully they took some player feedback and changed it up
honestly I don't really care as long as moving around feels easy and fun like 1,2, and Re:Coded
Oh so exactly like KH2.
I'm kinda worried that the combat is going to suck. They've been avoiding showing how the normal combat is going to work, just the transformations and summons.
Honestly my biggest concern is that they'll do another FFXV content-wise.
>quick, somebody pee on me!
DDD came out in 2011 so excluding remakes and the mobile game it's been about 7 years of on and off development. Not including team members that were moved around to make other Square games
Yeah, it's still up in the air (no pun intended) on what's going to happen with the combat, but my gut says it won't be as good as you wanted it to be, but still better than BbS/DDD.
The necessity of this sequel.
We've waited so long and yet I've started to wonder if the story wasn't already wrapped up nicely in KH2, and then they decided to just keep running with it anyway and made all those handheld games.
>34 fps
>from a 3rd party developer
That's 4 frames more than usual, what a age we live in.
It was already being stretched out for 2. It's now being taken to it's naturally convoluted conclusion.
...
>BBS was a mistake
There, no need to thank me.
>Days
Holy shit, you couldn't be any more of a contrarian if you tried.
That Sora will continue getting written like a good for nothing idiot and that Kairi surpasses him. Then we'll see the unoriginal and shitty dynamic of Smart Girl & Retarded Guy type character. You know like Nicole and Richard from Gumball. BBS was annoying precisely because of this.
The story was nicely wrapped up with the 1st game.
That whole you will open the door to the light at the end when they were chasing Pluto was basically saying Sora, Donald and Goofy would have more adventures and eventually find a way back home to Kairi.
Then Nomura or whoever had their edgy KH2 concept trailer made and put in KH1 and it went all downhill from there.
Level design in Kingdom Hearts 1 was garbage, because it tried to be a platformer. Level design in 2 is perfection for the combat, all the while Cavern of Remembrance has the best designed level in any action RPG ever known. Go ahead and tell me this analyzation you have thought so hard on, and I'll tell you why you're fucking wrong, because there is no other action RPG that stands against the roots of KH2's combat.
CoR was legit GOAT tier
Please name a well designed, non-empty level in KH2 that isn't CoR or Port Royal.
>but muh Osaka team
>muh speedrunner analysis
Fuck off . BBS will always be known as one of the best KH games.
Nigga, that trailer was made when the first game shipped because he had rough ideas since before finishing the game.
>trying this hard
KH1's ending was the most obvious sequel bait I've ever seen.
He's not entirely wrong though. Nomura barely knew what he wanted to do with a sequel if he was given the chance. That's why the sneak peek trailer was updated for Final Mix because by that point, he was getting more clear ideas of what was going to happen.
How are they gonna handle Roxas?
Poorly.
Combat looks rooted to KH2 in the worst way to me. Fuck reaction commands. Fuck KH2's magic system. I actually loved the Command Deck system but that's gone.
Sora in general has become a far less and less enjoyable protagonist as we've dealt with the spinoff deluge between KH2 and 3. If DDD is an indication of how he's going to act, getting through the game's going to be unpleasant because of a main, recurring protagonist that is still going to keep largely childish and clueless until 2/3rds into the game again.
Unironically this. Despite liking XV to a degree, even I can't defend the way it was shipped at release and the amount of DLC the game needs.
...
>Please name X
>But Y which I admit is a good example of X doesn't count.
You can't fucking do that.
That was plagued by well over a decade's worth of shit handling and constant shifts in staff. KH3 might have had a rocky start, but it hasn't been development for nearly as long, nor was it being headed up by someone else only to be dropped into another guy's lap. With that said, it'll most likely put off some fans for one reason or another. Which will in turn most likely lead to some considerable squabbling when the next saga begins.
Nazi heartless sound like they would be badass.
You want to feel like you're on to something, don't you? Because you had nothing, and you didn't know fucking dick about anything. You have obviously never tried Critical mode, nor level 1 for that matter. Reaction Commands are fucking perfection and nothing like the KH3 dumbed down version (""Situation Commands"""). Magic system is fucking perfection for the combat. Everything in KH2 is integrated. Spells cost MP and Depleting MP turns the bar into recharge mode, forms will restore MP, Using limits depletes MP. I'm looking at someone who is not only far up his ass, but he has no fucking idea what is going on around him and has no fucking clue what to say.
BBS is not the worst but it pretty much started the downfall
>no drive forms
>combat is clunky as shit, especially midair
>that terrible command deck mechanic that was introduced only cause the psp didn't have enough buttons
>insufferable characters
>story is shit and only events at the beginning and at the end are of any importance whatsoever
>worlds are terrible
>you need to play the game three times to complete it
>bosses have no revenge values making it possible to either stunlock them until they die, or have them stunlock you until you die
There's probably more that I've forgot about.
Roxas is a part of Sora now, everything he had will probably go to Ventus.
More importantly, are they going to bring back Larxene?
That's all well and true, but Squeenix have stated that they want to move to a "games as a service" model for future games.
I forgot
>infinite cartwheel i-frames
This nigga asking the serious questions. If her boss is back in the game, hopefully that means she is to some extent.
Long as they don't cut off the ending to release as DLC, I couldn't care less if they added on more content like enemies and mini-games long after the release.
Days was better than Re:Coded though
>I actually loved the Command Deck system but that's gone
Stopped reading there.
Data Org fights will be paid DLC
We're gonna get a scene where Xehanort invades Sora's heart, and we fight him in that fake Destiny Islands with Roxas, Ventus, and Xion in our party, right?
I'm worried that the combat system will be too far up its own ass in terms of gimmicks and will be spread too thin.
Timeless River, duh
...
>Xehanort takes over Riku's body
>final boss is Sora vs Riku with flashbacks to the time they fought in KH1
SEETHING
Sounds like garbage, this shit isn't Naruto.
I'm worried that it won't come to PC tbqh.
I really can't find a reason to shell out good money for a console that only has 1 game.
That's it's so good, I regret not ever playing the game because I've never played a KH game and the concept is so dumb. Even then, I don't really lose anything by it being good, so meh.
Im worried combat will suck
I don't mind the "games as a service" as long it's not as terribly implemented like XV. Who the fuck thought it's a good idea to just rip part of the story in an RPG just to sell it later as a DLC? I don't mind if the DLCs are extended story or deeper exploration of the characters story, if the game's good enough and I'm invested enough, I'll buy it.
What the fuck are you doing if you like action RPGs and have yet to play Bloodborne.
Given KHs track record on PC releases, I'd say 0.
>13 frames per second
its just because its in development, r-r-right?
You're already missing out by the fact that Kingdom Hearts 2 is one of the best games of all time.
0.2 was pretty great. That combat, with some better and more interesting bosses has tons of potential.
I don't find any of the souls games enjoyable. Confirmed that after playing both DS1 and 3.
I'm still surprised they aren't doing more for the xbox players who either have to marathon "movies" on youtube, or get a PS3/PS4 to play the other shit to catch.
My true hope is that they'd fix the writing so that it returns to KH1/CoM levels of quality as opposed to now where they don't feel like real people. That won't happen though, so in terms of realistic goals I'd say more 10/10 fights like the data battles and some well-made superbosses. If they somehow match The World That Never Was then it'll be killer. I'll buy the game no matter though.
Those games weren't made on an easily portable engine. Look at Final Fantasy 15.
There are plenty "best games of all time" I won't play, bub, and I really doubt KH2 is the best game I haven't played and won't play.
KH1's writing is nowhere near CoM's.
How's the combat, user?
I mean, sucks for you, I guess.
Programmer here, yeah pretty much. Games usually look like and run like shit during development because you're still putting it all together.
I was playing BBS on Proud last night and got to Master Eraqus. I never really thought about it before, but that fight made me realize just how clunky and inferior the combat is in every post-KH2 game. I have no faith for KH3's combat system anymore.
DDD came out in 2012
kh3 started development in 2013
Can you actually beat KH1 just by simply spamming X without use of spells or shit? is it that easy?
How the hell does staffs leak stuff like this and not get any trouble with the company?
Eraqus was my first roadblock in BBS (Critical).
That said, Kingdom Hearts 3's combat will have nothing to do with BBS's shitty system. Play 0.2 so you actually have a good idea of what 3 will be based on before spouting baseless criticism.
No. On Begginer maybe, if you get lucky. Or if you mindlessly grind to level 99 early on, then yeah, Begginer mode would let you do that.
whoever was managing the data server probably got fired
what makes you assume they didn't get in trouble?
the odds of the people in charge of the ftp not being yakuza'd are pretty low
KH3 ain't a multiplat? I'm pretty sure it was, guess I heard wrong.
I guess so. It is being made with UE4. A delayed release probably?
Play 0.2 it's not nearly as stiff and doesn't have that whole skill grid customization thing.
It is, he means that the KH collections weren't released to xbox/pc for some reason so they'll have no idea whats going on.
I'd argue they're pretty close, but CoM is still certainly the better one. Just compare the opening of 1 to the opening of BBS - Sora, Riku, and Kairi interact like real people whereas Ventus, Terra, and Aqua are incredibly plain and have no chemistry at all. In the Re:Coded movie, Sora's an incredibly generic hero and it makes it much harder to care.
Anyways, what flaws do you see in 1's writing?
I guess. I have just enough time to shitpost on Sup Forums occasionally and other things, not dig up a PS2 and a copy of a game which I'm just sure has "aged like wine," get a computer fast enough to run a PS2 game, or buy a PS4 to play Kingdom Final Hearts Chapter XCVII.6 + 1.II/352 Birth by ReMIX Collector’s Prologue Pack HD. And if I bought those consoles or got a better PC, I'm sure there would be better games to play with them if I had the time, but I don't. As you say, "sucks for me."
