Do you want to see a story mode again...

Do you want to see a story mode again? Do you think Smash can have a story mode that doesn't feel like something that came straight out of fanfiction.net?

I'd want an expanded version of Melee's adventure mode, SSE was boring.

absolutely
i don't care how fanfiction-y it is, i just want to see the characters interacting

Dude, if you like win the lottery and go to the devs and tell them you'll give them millions of dollars to do that then yes, I do think so.

>Do you want to see a story mode again?
Yes. The Subspace Emissary was the best part of Brawl.
>Do you think Smash can have a story mode that doesn't feel like something that came straight out of fanfiction.net?
If you want to have an actual story then it's going to end up being like fanfiction regardless of what you do.

i want cool cutscenes

>he didn't like the fanfiction

As long as the characters act like themselves, it's fine.

It would be cool if it had the story and character interactions of brawl and the locations of melee

Also, fuck the great maze.

make the characters have personality

I'm still upset Mario and Luigi didn't interact even once

Subspace Emissary is the best thing Smash has ever done, and not having something like it in Smash 4 was a huge mistake. It's such a fun way to unlock characters and see your favorite Nintendo characters interacting, if they don't have a story mode it's going to be massive wasted potential.

Thanks doc

I wish they would. But i'd take animated videos with the smash characters hanging out as unlockables.

subspace was great, i always felt that 4 was really barebones when it came to singleplayer content

I just want a mode where you can fight enemies and bosses, like SSE and Smash Run. Maybe make it a co-op mode like Salmon Run this time, that could be insanely fun if done well.

I don't care if it has a story or not, it doesn't affect my enjoyment, either way I just want some decent platforming. Melee's adventure mode suffered from not having enough stages and Melee's physics being too heavy and slippery, Brawl's suffered from the stages being mostly generic instead of iconic Nintendo areas along with floaty physics and jumps killing momentum, Smash 4 had slightly better physics than Brawl but Smash Run wasn't good enough and the momentum was still fucked.

>Old Smash vets imprisoned by Tabuu
>Wolf, Ice Climbers, Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Pichu have to recruit newcomers to save the vets

A more diverse SSE would be tits. If they take some notes from the Melee adventure stages and do cut scenes again, it'd be great.

Yes, please. I loved Adventure Mode in Melee. I loved to see the little changes depending on how you did. SSE was great, even with all the cutscenes spoiled when the game released in Japan. I love to watch all the characters interact, which for a crossover game, should be a big part of the appeal for most.

>fanfiction
It's a crossover game. What the fuck else did you expect?

I didn't play any smash game after melee.
There's a lot of people that made let's plays of it including one channel I like to watch.
It bored me immensely.
I just don't get it.

Fanfic.net story was fun. Ganondorf and Bowser commanding the stupid fucking ship.

Yes, Subspace Emissary was the thing that make Brawl better than Melee

I think it's definitely possible to make a fun story mode, but SSE was not it. That shit was an absolute slog.

Something that actually felt like a crossover, not "Characters from My Game vs. the OC Donutsteels feat. some other characters".

Subspace Emissary was trash and a total waste of resources, everyone begging for it to come back is high on nostalgia. Seriously faggots, just go replay it (you'll probably regret it but it's an important lesson) and leave the rest of us alone.

Melee's Adventure Mode is less awful but quite repetitive. The best single-player mode has been and will always be Classic Mode. If Nintendo wants to tack on a couple fanservice cutscenes or bits of dialogue to that (a la Soul Calibur) then that's fine. Anything more is bloat.

>The best single-player mode has been and will always be Classic Mode
Too bad Smash 4U butchered it.
The 3DS version was fine, but the Wii U version was so shitty. Almost every fight was 6+ characters.
The only thing I liked about the Classic Mode in Wii U was the ability to use defeated enemies as partners in team battles.

>no story, just run to the goal
>more boring than a story mode

This is just one entry on the really fucking long list of absolutely baffling decisions in Smash 4. 3DS classic mode was great, so why the fuck was Wii U classic mode absolute garbage?

this. I liked seeing characters from different series interact with each other
the cutscenes were really well made also

Explain to me why SSE was bad and you can't use the terms or synonyms of 'boring', 'tedious' or 'fanfic'

I think there should be a balance between Melee's and Brawl's. Brief stages based on the games the characters are from, with the characters from that game as bosses, loosely strung together by a story.

Gracias Doctor

Ah, yes, the classic "explain why it's bad without mentioning its worst qualities".

Explain why it's bad without being subjective
