It's a game nobody asked for.
Valve is exactly like Gabe himself: fat and lazy. They only care about your money and how to cheat it off you with minimal effort.
Making a card game takes minimal resources in this sense they don't need to work on spectacular story or cool character models. They only needed to rip-off the assets from Dota and convert them into card format. It's lazy effort and designed to take your money. Goes well along with other microtransactions they have.
Valve is dead. I don't understand why they still get so many raging fans who support them. It's a bad company and should go under.

The only way it bombs is if it's seriously so bad it's unplayable, HS players are tired of Blizzard's incompetence and will give any card game that shows promise a chance. Streamers and pros still play that shit only because it pays, most of them have expressed in one way or another that thay dislike the game. If it comes to mobile devices it might (but desu probably won't) snatch the ultranormie audience.
