Theres not just the areas that you usually do the sidequests in. If you stop the car in the middle of a road like the one to Lestallum you can walk on the sides.

I find the game boring to explore compared to other open world games. The character moves so slowly and there's invisible walls and knee high rocks that block progression everywhere. It feels like Gran Pulse at times.
