What went wrong?

Mario Maker will get a sequel once Nintendo stops supporting Wii U servers

Mario Maker is shit though I want NSMB

Do jinx it.

I feel like they said they were done with NSMB, if anyone wants to look that up they can.

Or not, I don't care.

>What went wrong?
low-effort, full-price level packs

>sequel
Nintendo isn’t making sequels anymore. They realized they can just port generation old games and make just as much money. We’ll get New Super Mario Bros. U Switch!! Edition.

This. They didn't even make a new Smash bros they are just porting 4 and adding inklings.

>portfag
Ah I see we have a retard in our midst

They need to instead make a whole new 2D mario and give it the budget and effort of a 3D mario.

New Super Mario Bros. U +Luigi U is right up there with Super Mario World. Game is stoopid underrated; people dismiss it because of the art direction (which does suck).

That game felt extremely soulless to me. I love Mario World, but I haven't been able to get into any NSMB games since the first. Feels like they're just going through the motions

I would love a new Super Mario Bros. 2D game... that isn't New-branded.

I think the games play alright but the style is extremely dated. They even took it with them to super mario run.

There is literally nothing to suggest that it's not an enhanced port besides delusions.

Didn't the trailer say "original game"?

New Bros U >>>>>>> 3D World desu

>3D Land and 3D World have unique level tropes that are used for a level or two
>Mario Kart has unique tropes for tracks
>NSMB and it's derivatives keep the same desert, ice world, beach, etc tropes for each world, only changing the aesthetics (but not the music) for NSMBU
For what purpose?

Because the old 2d games did it, that's the whole point.

Only Super Mario Bros 3 did it. The first game barely had tropes and World based everything off the areas surrounding Dinosaur Island which at least gave it more of an overall theme (like Sunshine did with Isle Delfino).

Nintendo likes to say a lot of things. Don't be so naive.

>Mario, Zelda, Xenoblade, Splatoon, Pokemon, Kirby, Metroid, Yoshi, Fire Emblem gets new games
>Mario Kart and Donkey Kong gets ports
>Sup Forums act like if Nintendo stopped producing new games

That's referring to the copyright of the original SSB. That's also why there's no Bandai Namco on the screen.

The only good NSMB was the DS one.

>only MK and DK got ports

>we'll never get a proper Nintendo Land sequel or remake

I'm talking about Nintendo's main franchises.
Also, that picture doesn't show Wii U games which have been ported to the Switch.

Marko Maker, Wooly World and Sm4sh are 3DS ports
Zombi U is a PC port
Twilight Princess and Wind Waker were ports in the first place
Only thing he missed was Pokken, Hyrule Warriors, Captain Toad (which are all spinoffs which would probably not get sequels anyway) and Bayo 1+2 (which already has a sequel in the works)

New super mario bros should stay dead so they can focus the team on making better games.
