draw this card from your main deck, you can activate this card during your main phase 1 or main phase 2. upon activation, draw 2 cards from your main deck. you do not reveal these drawn cards to your opponent. if your opponent controls a spell card negate card, they can activate it to negate this effect and destroy this card. after this card has been successfully activated and resolved, remove it from the spell/trap field and place it in your graveyard in face-up position.

>reprint already common card that will never ever be taken off the banlist
for what purpose

Better question. Where did it all go wrong?

Powercreep

Get out your pen and paper and draw pictures of two cards.

The two best Yugioh manga arcs are Millenium world and Yugioh:R, because you can see that Takahashi wanted to turn Yugioh into a tabletop rpg similar to DnD, with cards, rather than MtG without resource management.

The tabletop elements in the manga started becoming stronger, while the tcg placed greater emphasis on enhancing or going around battle city rules by introducing more special summoning mechanics.

powercreep, it happens to all trading card games. people are now special summoning 5 cards in one turn these days

>fusion of fusion, xyz, synchro and pendulum
like, good fucking luck getting all that shit out

Attached: Sin título.png (804x599, 1.12M)

Yeah and this now puts off most players or returning players because now theres a huge over arcing autistic rule list and special summoning set that takes this game from a game of skill and chance to a game of pure chance and pay2win build-a-decks.

What

>must be face-up on the field to activate and to resolve this effect
I assume they did this because people were interpreting card effects in really stupid ways.

>implying old yugioh wasn't even worse
sure archetypes weren't a thing so much, but every deck had the same 30-35 generic staples and a few cards for flavour.

Ah yes, my favorite card. Isn't it still banned in tournaments, despite the fact that you can literally win the game on turn 1 without it anyways?

How to spot someone who never actually played competitive yugioh back in the day.

Excepct I did. And like I said I played a Monarch control deck.

Whats the most bs yugioh card these days? Are any of those chain link cards busted as fuck?

How exactly does the fact you played a monarch deck mean that the old yugioh meta was fair and balanced?

Master Peace, the True Dracoslaying King is probably one of the most bs that's legal in the TCG (it's rightfully banned on the eastern formats)

I just used Paint.

Anyone have a good YGOPro client that can still fight bots TODAY?

I'm trying to make custom cards and I want something to try it out on. G2PRO and Piercy seem to both be having problems. Piercy doesn't have their offline bots and can't connect to the G2servers, and the G2Pro client isn't starting the bots when I use the AI command in password or chat.

Making money...?

I read the non king first and thought it was strong but holy ahit

To Tribute Summon this card face-up, you can Tribute Continuous Spell/Trap Card(s) you control, as well as monsters. Unaffected by the effects of cards with the same card type (Monster, Spell, and/or Trap) as the original card type of the cards Tributed for its Tribute Summon. Once per turn, during either player's turn, if you control this Tribute Summoned monster: You can banish 1 Continuous Spell/Trap Card from your Graveyard, then target 1 other card on the field, destroy it.

I remember when i thought stardust was busted and when elemental dragons were insanely op. This is next level power creep

Is it time?

As someone who has no experience in YGO card shit, why does drawing 2 cards warrant a spot on the ban list?

Attached: e27.jpg (600x450, 49K)

It's a card that literally everyone would run, theres no reason not to, the next closest thing which is Pot of Desires, makes you remove 10 cards from your deck to activate, which means that not every deck can efficiently run it.
Cards like Pot of Greed where literally everyone would run it would turn the game into Whoever gets this card first wins.
Many of the spell cards that are banned are ones that turn the game into Whoever Draws This Card First Wins

But is Pot that bad when there are cards like this? I know Pokemon's a vastly different game than Yugioh, but it makes me think that banning Pot is too extreme.

I wouldn't know how pokemon tgc is played but in yugioh you could just play your hand, activate that and get 6-7 cards for no cost

Pot is bad because cards in Yugioh have no inherent associated cost or limit. Playing Pot of Greed doesn't take up an action, it doesn't cost any resources other than the card itself, it's literally a 100% free +1. There is absolutely no reason for any yugioh deck not to run 3 copies of Pot of Greed. If the card was legal yugioh decks would go from 40 cards to 37 cards since the 3 copies of Pot of Greed would pretty much be there by default on every single deck ever made.

Why not just limit it to just 1 per deck then?

Because then every deck would be 49 cards + Pot of Greed.

The problem isn't that the card is super broken or that it makes decks too strong, it's that having a card that's in every single deck is not healthy for the game.

Same problem, everyone would run 40 to 39 cards instead

Now here's one that everyone thought was broken, but we never got any answers about

Attached: 4b21d7cf41a27_139214n.jpg (300x414, 34K)

to add to what the others have said, nowadays with how the game's progressed and how you can completely change the course of a duel with 1 card, it makes pot of greed that much stronger. wasn't so much of an issue when the game was first released though

It's not that it's strong, it's that it's brainless.
Why would you not put it in the deck, even if it's limited to 1?

My understanding is that some of the banned or limited card are usually the first set release cards that has the most basic usage. Nowadays, there are just card that need to do X or Y to do these basic function while the basic banned/limited card are still banned/limited.

Attached: HarpiesFeatherDuster-LCJW-EN-ScR-1E.png (444x644, 686K)

>yigioh
>draw 2
>BAN

>pokemon
>half your deck are draw cards

because that just makes the game more dependent on luck

its free card advantage, plain and simple. Honestly, imo no card should really be limited unless there are degenerate loops/interactions with multiple copies of it. If its too strong at 3 then why is 1 ok? Just gets sacky

Attached: Pumprincess the Princess of Ghosts.png (308x450, 373K)

all the issues yugioh has, and god does it have a lot, pokemon tcg is just plain retarded

>pokemon
>half your deck are draw cards
Same goes for yugioh, it's just that modern draw engines are better designed than "free +1 whenever you draw this".

But Dark Hole's brainless and that's completely fine.

You would still run Pot of Greed in my deck. Why would you NOT have it in your deck? That's why it's banned.

Because theres no resource system in yugioh. Your resources are the cards themselves. As long as you have cards to play you can do nearly anything. In pokemon and magic you need to have energies/mana to do things. You could have 30 cards in your hand but with no mana you cant do shit. In yugioh if you have 30 cards in your hand you will probably kill the opponent on that turn.

It's not. Dark Hole doesn't see play in every deck, and there are even entire formats when no one plays it. They even unbanned Raigeki a while ago because no one was running Dark Hole. There are a ton of decks are either immune to or straight up benefit from monster destruction, and if those are popular in a format you probably don't want to risk running mass monster destruction.

Is buster blader worth anything these days? I traded one I had for a blowjob back when I was 12

Dark Hole isn't brainless now because there are a million archetypes and effects that prevent monster destruction or just treat the graveyard as another deck to be searched. Any monster your opponent has that matters will still be on the field after you use it, and anything else will just have its effect go off or be back next turn, if something even better hasn't replaced it by then. Dark Hole just isn't even that good anymore and hasn't been for a long time, I mean they're putting Monster Reborn at 1 instead of being banned and that's a free revive from the grave, and I kind of doubt it will matter at all. Generic support like that has been outpaced by archetypes.

This fucker best card btw

Many boss cards have protection these day so using Dark hole is very suicidal, even if you don't have anything on the field.

Attached: PowerToolDragon-LC5D-EN-C-1E.png (309x450, 365K)

>having monsters go the the graveyard might actually be good
>monsters may be immune to destruction
I don't understand what's going on in this game anymore.

Best advice i have is to stop playing that shit game.

Keep in mind pokemon has rotations, this card hasn't been legal in decades.

how did it taste?

Fuck u I don’t have anyone near by to play so I try to remake my decks instead

Many tactic and strategy benefit from having certain monsters in the graveyard. There is a good reason why Skull Servant is a meme at this point

Attached: ever had a card that can go beyond 10k ATK?.png (307x450, 335K)

There are over 120 monsters that are immune to destruction via card effect, and most of them aren't even good.

Big Boner

Oh no, the game has changed since you stopped caring about it 15 years ago. Isn't it crazy that the thousands of people actively playing and keeping the game alive didn't just play the same 2004 Duel Monsters format forever just so that every 5 or so years you could take a look at Yugioh and think "yep, still just like how I remember it" before forgetting about it for the next 5?

then play dueling book or ygo nexus you fucking retard.

Everyone knows it does these days.

I never asked him even though we're still friends

>the last time I was competitive was right before the ban list was introduced
>decks were 80% built of restricted-to-1 cards

Do decks still look like that? 40-card singleton?

Attached: Draw 2 Beet Root.png (1280x1707, 3.02M)

this card sucks
wonder balloon beats it 10 times

The fuck even is that
Is it free?

I've watched up to 5D's, but yeah I haven't played since back in middle school. I just keep thinking that having cards go to the graveyard or be banished should be a punishment, not a reward.

Pot of Greed should be Limited. If every meta deck can run hand traps and Firewall Dragon out the fucking ass, I don't think one Pot of Greed would hurt.

But it's fun.

His brother’s dick and also hamburgers

He literally a fucking trap, even in the last movie.

Upstart Goblin.

There's a difference between popular staples and Pot of Greed.

Because he’s gay

Pot of Greed is nothing compared to the insane draw engines present in most meta decks from the past five years. The fact that I could mill my deck and in fact use every milled card during the process is astoundingly more efficient than something like Pot of Greed. Pot of Greed being 'brainless' only applies in situations where not every card in a deck is malleable to different situations, which are very typically decks that are not meta.
