It's pretty much a fact at this point that the next GTA will be set in Vice City so we can hope that they scrap the gay ass smartphones and give us another 80's experience. My biggest complaint with the new gen GTA games is that the games are not trying to be movie parodies anymore.

it will either be modern or something else, but yeah next game will most likely be set in vice city, or a brand new location entirely (but one previously mentioned in the GTA games).
I actually want GTA to do future sci fi again like in GTA2. That was the best setting GTA ever had imo. Would fucking love to see a next gen game set in future GTA2 world.

I can agree that the GTA2 setting was amazing but it wasn't really sci-fi, it was just their small idea of how the near future that we live in now might look from their perspective which they clearly display in the intro movie. Honestly GTA2 is my second favorite GTA after Vice City, it's the first one I played and it still holds up today, I've always wanted them to bring back the Zaibatsu corporation because that shit was fun.

I think 3's style is best overall. Even with Vice City, they began to dial down on the more cartoonish jank that it had. I think the series worked best as some sort of fucked up looking lego experiment and the realistic visuals killed the dev's motivation to do outlandish and edgy stuff like dismemberment

I don't know man, his model is really inconsistent. The one used in the very first cutscene had him very old looking. Then the one used in gameplay and other scenes for PS2/PC has him looking early 30's at best, with a strong Asian look to him. It was only the Xbox model that got him to look both old and American.
