I'm also glad none of you got confused with daylight savings

Most clocks automatically change nowadays, so it isn't so bad.

>tfw can't decide on who to main
i'm thinking Merkava, Hilda, Eltnum or Vatista. All 4 seem fun, can I get some input?

Attached: 1520576907461.jpg (665x850, 211K)

Who else do you play outside of the game if any.

I'd vote for Eltnum. She's fun and has lots of cool stuff to learn.
Have you gone through all their combo trials to get a little bit of a feel for them?

I HAVE HAD IT WITH THESE GUEST CHATACTERS

i played May in guilty gear and while I didn't play any blazblue, I liked arakune's 'fuck you' style of play
i played bryan in tekken but I doubt that matters since it's a 3d game
yeah i've gone through basically every characters' missions, not all the way, but a good chunk of the way
eltnum was my #1 choice for a bit, but i have a super hard time with the 421 input, and i couldn't really figure out how the hell to play her in neutral

Fuck this overhead

I think it is one of the faster ones in the game.

which one? not in the lobby, it's orie's isnt it

Akatsuki

25 on startup, -6 on block

Fuck him to hell

these games look great and stylish & i like anyone that support them

however i am awful at fighting games so i'll probably never play it but i hope you all have a fun night!!!!!

Muscle memory is a hell of a thing. Yesterday I actually managed to clear Orie's 4-3 and 4-12 and even at a point succeeded at 4-3 like three times in four tries, but now I'm fumbling it again.

>Merkava
Basically make it hell for people to get in by throwing out hit-grab arms that basically beats projectiles 80% of the time and an air-unblockable hit grab to boot. Has insane reach and basically can say fuck off to neutral since he can get away scot free on his strings if you space them out right
>Hilda
Big buttons and can control from a screen away like Merk but her style of pressure is mostly just having a fast projectile and free oki if you set up her orb. The only problem she has is that she's fucked if anyone makes it past all that.
>Eltnum
She's got above average range and has screen-wide presence thanks to charged bullets. Even her basic combos hurt a lot
>Vatista
Hope you like charging

Attached: 795127006.jpg (600x549, 109K)

yeah i'm thinking it's between eltnum and merkava now
do you think eltnum is more difficult to use? more rewarding?

Eltnum has a lot of delays and shifts to manage but even then, she isn't all that hard.
I have no idea what satisfaction merk players get while basically running most match ups leisurely.

And the lag strikes out of nowhere. So much for 3 bars

I think you should take a break for a few minutes man

Attached: 1517809415846.jpg (579x329, 30K)

I don't plan on fighting lightning gorilla in 8 frames, fuck that noise.

delays and shifts? i'm running through her bnb and it has no delays
5A/2A 2B 2C 5[C] 421B 6[B] w2A 22B 66C 22B 66C 22C

Her most basic bnbs won't include too many of course.

Was it 8 frames for you? It was fine on my end.
Sorry

you wouldn't happen to have any tips on how to play her in neutral, would you?

Feels bad man
Just should've blocked it out

Fuck, I keep thinking I input something but apparently I was not.

Your 2A and 2B are fantastic tools to lead into pressure and get back out of it, know how to reverse beat. 2C is also rather fantastic. Reach is great and it hits twice. Any stray hit that you can confirm into big damage, just 214 it, get a free knockdown, and rush in on them to reapply pressure.
236 gunshots catches a lot of my jump in an approach attempts, the charged version is the one that actually hits full-screen at certain angles and it will most likely beat other fireballs as it bounces across the screen.
421A can be used to cross people up and open them up as you integrate them into lengthier blockstrings. The B version is for combos and C version almost acts like a pseudo-DP. Her 66C is also pretty good since it catches people air-borne and it leaps over lows trying to contest it. 22A is used for catching people trying to mash out of certain blockstrings and 22B is also plus on block for some reason.

tl;dr: make use of your great lows, tag people with big combos if you get them, if not, just 214 and start over again. Use gunshots to keep people in a controllable distance.

The IW and the thrust passing through was pretty cool.

Meant to say any hit you CAN'T confirm into big damage should lead into 214

The fuck is this? I've never heard of this

Brain, your only air normals after the rekka >3C should be jC and j6C

>Your 2A and 2B are fantastic tools to lead into pressure and get back out of it, know how to reverse beat. 2C is also rather fantastic.
for blockstring pressure? can you give me a good string? also, i'm curious since i've never played a character that's reliant on pressure, if you finish your blockstring, what do you do after? run back in? or is your turn done?
>22A is used for catching people trying to mash out of certain blockstrings and 22B is also plus on block for some reason.
so end pressure with 22b?

so basically use 2a, 2b, 2c, and 5c in neutral mostly, alongside her specials?
also, what should i do on defense? is her 2a fine for mashing out of pressure, or should i be respecting people's strings more?

Attached: 1520652309233.jpg (600x800, 215K)

Yea, I noticed I hit j.b by accident when the combo dropped, that almost cost me. I blame muscle memory from messing with 2a starts

it's a thread for the fighting game Under Night In-Birth, or UNIST. UNIEL, the previous version, is on PC, and UNIST recently released in the west on PS3 and PS4

I'll probably be less of a retard against you when I'm not freezing my fingers off.

Attached: BbtEEO8CUAMynuh.jpg orig.jpg (614x908, 41K)

Man, I am so terrible against any kind of throw.

>for blockstring pressure?
Yeah, they're fast and 2B also has decent range.
>can you give me a good string?
Nothing too great because I stopped playing her back in the old version. Theoretically, let's say you start pressure with 2C or 2B, you want to exhaust all other options like 5B, 5C, and when you run out, you cancel back into 2A and have less recovery time to worry about. Sion play shouldn't be too hard to find.
> if you finish your blockstring, what do you do after? run back in? or is your turn done?
You want to end on the most advantageous state possible so if you reverse-beat your pressure back into a 2A, you'll be safe and there are frame-traps when you get special moves involved to end your strings with. 2C into a delayed 22A catches people pretty easily and ending a string with 22B isn't ideal but it's very plus on block so you can start
up your pressure again immediately.
>so end pressure with 22b?
Ideally no, it's a combo ender but if it does, just know you're plus. 22B is balanced by having ammunition that you need to actively reload.
>also, what should i do on defense? is her 2a fine for mashing out of pressure, or should i be respecting people's strings more?
Always respect wake-up pressure if they're up close, unless you got frame-1 stuff, you're going to end up eating another combo if you don't respect the wake-up. Thankfully you have a fully invuln DP with 623B/C.
If there's a gap in someone's string then yeah, you can afford to mash 2A out of it provided they're in reach.

alright thanks for the help, i'll start cracking down on learning her

Not a problem. We have like 3 Eltnum players so you might catch them and get better answers.

Attached: gather under night.jpg (1280x800, 447K)

Brain, remember to block high against Phonon if I do an EX move, her 22C is an overhead so if you see the superflash remember to block high.

oh, is she a popular character? i would have assumed she wouldn't be, since she's a resource-based one

Around here, a bit. The ammo system isn't all that tough to get around over. People have harder times learning characters like Seth, Yuzu, Hilda, and Vatista.
Akatsuki is by far the most numerous around here.

well maybe i'll join in a few days or something once i get the character down a bit more

yeah, i'm not sure i can fight in 10 frames of lag.

I wonder where this wald guy is from. First Australia, then Malaysia, now where?

He's still really good at getting off those 720 reversals.

I need more experience against Wald since I literally get thrown by everyone every time, and his big-ass arms always confuse me about the range for hitting him.

You really can't afford to be standing near him, those command grabs are fast as fuck.

That was the projectile one right? If so, that'd explain what happened there. Thanks for the heads-up.

It's actually an eruption of energy from the ground, i just used it right after my projectile

Wait, that thing's a high when metered? Yikes, I really appreciate knowing that now.

yeah, it honestly feels dirty when I use it.

Man i'm always amazed by how good Hyde's 41236C is. He rushes in so far

We'll be glad to have you. Plus it would be better to join in now before all our beginners begin advancing too far ahead.

Landed the combo I wanted to land, but the internet on my end still feels choppy. I'll let you guys duke it out the rest of the way. Planning on ending a bit earlier tonight because daylight savings, and my own lack of sleep and cold fingers.

Attached: BfjmlGiCIAAJOP1.jpg orig.jpg (457x404, 28K)

>Landed the combo i wanted to land

That's a good feeling, glad you got it.

I'll have to actually test it out to see if it does any more damage than what I previously used but I can't resist adding j2C into combos.

Gah, I need to just relax a bit.

i'm a completely new player though basically, wouldn't i get destroyed?

I got the game a few weeks ago as a fighting game newbie and am still extremely terrible, so come and try it out.

Neutral in this game is something else, so getting into the thick of it is probably the best way to learn. I feel like we get new people every week or two so it shoudn't be all that bad. Hell, I'm pretty sure you're not the only one who I've been giving advice to for the past week, other people are labbing stuff out and getting used to their desired character before jumping into the lobbies so at least you're not alone. Watching how things work out just by spectating matches also help as well.

Australia. I'm ass at this game but those were some fun matches. Sorry about the lag but my government literally thinks the internet is a fad, it's like if Nintendo ran a country.
I'm totally new too and I took some games. There's a few beasts but also some average players.

alright i joined, hopefully i dont embarrass myself too bad

Ah shit son, we actually got two aussie anons now. Although, i haven't seen the other one in a while.

Attached: DKBJ3bGVAAAicvv.jpg orig.jpg (850x872, 187K)

Huh, I think I recognize that name.
If you'd like, I can play a bit of Eltnum for you to see how she works.

only way you'd recognize it is if we played together in MHW, otherwise i only got into UNIST a few days ago and haven't played much

Gonna call it a night, GGs all!
Also hello to all the newer folk, hope to see you around.

GGs

GGs

wow, orie looks pretty fun actually

I apologize for not playing her more smoothly, been busy trying to get better at Seth. Fingers felt stiff as hell.

You landed the combo, atic. Now you just need to turn all those stray 5As into some damage.

these input histories look like you guys are playing guitar hero, you know holding the button makes you recover automatically right?

Whew, that was literally the second time I ever pulled off the BnB combo.

I like her because she's very "simple" but has a lot of options, try her out. Also she'll force me to learn neutral someday.

Yeah, I was actually practicing two 623A routes for 5A a little bit before I joined, but can't get them off.

it's fine, it helped me anyways

Just a couple more for tonight. I'll give it another 10-15 min.

Attached: Seth.png (1280x720, 1.15M)

I fought an actual Orie player over the weekend. I saved the match so I'll comb over it when I get the time and share what I see.

>tfw the guy joining the lobby for the first time already has a 3k BnB down

Man, I suck.

Eltnum is easy damage to be fair.
Remember, you can basically do a repeat of the 4-2 route if you land a 236[B]. You just need add a 2C > 4C into the aerial stuff. That's a free 3.9k waiting to happen. I think it's even a mission for Orie as well. Get that into your system too.

Sad thing is I've completed it multiple times but I always freeze up in a match.

Oh and that FF > j214B cross up too. That's another application for the 4-2 route.

ahh don't act like my bnb is hard, you get the first half down and the second half is literally doing the same 2 moves 3 times in a row

2 more matches after this.

Too shit of a connection it seems.

damn, I was too late

Join us tomorrow.

thanks for the games guys, it was a nice first night, ggs
ill work on my neutral a bit more

Attached: 1520823683785.png (800x795, 237K)

GGs all, glad to see a couple new faces in the room.

ggs

Next time I'm going to work on confirming those 2/5As and stop ending my blockstrings with the thrust.

GGs
Good show for a first timer. There's only one way to learn, looking forward to playing with you more.

Atic, you gotta learn how to have some discipline in your buttons so you can actually get into the habit of converting cleanly into combos. Also, 236B/214C in the corner gives you a wallbounce, you can just add something as easy as 3B > 214B to finish it cleanly.

GGs either way.

Attached: BgHlIpDCYAIwyVa.jpg orig.jpg (494x500, 34K)

Yeah, I'm probably the only one whose inputs actually look like Guitar Hero.

I just have to calm down.

Just know that as long as you get a B starter or a counter-hit jump in with a jB or jC, you can land that 4-2 combo. There's no need to panic, you just gotta get used to it. A load of things can be funneled into that combo, just as long as you didn't add too much proration/start with a light.

Yeah, thanks. I'm just disappointed a little in myself since I managed to cut down on the 214Cs the past few times and now they've come back full force. Gotta keep at it until it's routine.

is the room pc or ps?

So how do you fight Hyde? It's like every move is Zero's pizza cutter.

Lobby is closed for the night.
And it's for Playstation 3/4 with the newest one. PC release is uncertain.
Hold down-back until he jumps or starts charging his 30f overhead.

what time tomorrow? midnight?
