I wish the art style didn't look like it was done by a graphics design student, and was an actual art style. Also not sure why that other than Bea with her "fuck me" boots, all the other female characters look male.

The dialogue isn't great either. A lot of pointless observations, followed by pointless "..." pauses and randomly bringing up communist beliefs. They're not even subtle about most o f it, and it comes off as obnoxious.

The platforming and puzzles aren't even trying. They didn't even try to make any sort of challenge at all.

The story just ends when it was starting to get somewhere. Too much filler content that I didn't find interesting.

Although that game you can play on Mae's laptop is pretty fun though.

The game sure is pretty comfy, a big part of the fanbase is shit, but thats pretty common in modern games. I like it.

I'm just going to ignore that claim, but in regard to the design, they are caricatures. Having them be cartoonish animals helps the player identify with them, as they are not detailed human beings.

What the fuck is this game about?

Legitimately one of the worst games I've played in recent years. I could normally stomach shit gameplay if the story is interesting or the characters are good, but this was just terrible all round. I can't believe it took 7 hours to get going then just fucking ended.

Oxenfree was a weird one for me. While I enjoyed the story for the most part and some of the characters, the decision to build a game dependant on multiple playthroughs with incredibly slow pacing and ridiculously plodding gameplay. I got 1/3 in to a second playthrough and just lost the urge to play. Thankfully, I got it for £4 on the Switch sale in January. If I paid £18 for this I would have been pissed.

Slow and ends abruptly. In a "narrative" "game" like this you need to be able to feel a connection with the main character which I didn't feel in this. There weren't all that many choices to connect us and she did her own thing most of the time. She's treated like every other character except that you control her movement, instead of being the protagonist.

At least Undertale is a game. Undertale has shit writing, but the characters aren't all written like edgy teen leftist "lol random xDD" retards

You either connect with the story and the circumstances in it, or you don't and it does nothing for you.

If you don't fall into one of the following categories:

>You keep in touch with the more mediocre people you grew up with and get to watch as they live frustrating lives, stuck in a rut with no opportunity of advancement.
>You are a Boomerang kid or have intimate knowledge of the Boomerang phenomenon and have an understanding of what it's like for adult children to return to the roost.
Then you're probably not going to get anything out of the game. This isn't a game for successful people who have moved on from the losers, small-time town and even parents that they grew up with. This is a game for the people that have had to go back to their past and see that nothing's really the same as it used to be.

You play as Mae a college dropout returning to her shithole old town for her comfy NEET life back only to find her high school friends have grown up while she's still mentally 16.
You go on Minigame lite adventures with your friend of choice wether it be Gregg, Angus, Germ or Bae and experience a wide range of emotions from happiness and fun to depression and loss all while a dark subplot starts intruding more and more into your "Girls just wanna have fun" story line.
It's basically a novel with just enough to keep those with short attention spans interested while not shitting all over the emotional aspects of a well written story.
Overall 9/10
I really liked it not a whole lot of replay value but for 20$ I'd rather stay home and play this than watch the newest crap movie at the theater.
