Why do I keep doing this to myself? There was a time when I didn't have such ADD when it came to games.
I don't blame you for dropping RPGs and open world action games, they occupy a lot of time that could go towards other hobbies that you may have. I think it's completely fair to drop a game about halfway through if you don't see it improving at all in the next 15 hours of gameplay. Nier Automata is actively keeping me willing to make progress about 25 hours in, while many games you mentioned legitimately get stale.

Idk how you completed BotW but not Mario Odyssey

You could always just, you know, play games you actually want to play?
This year I've beaten Doom 1/2, Quake 1/2, HL: Opposing Force, Max Payne 1/2 and I'm already half way to beating Duke 3D.
You know why? Because I know I fucking like these games and I really want to clear out my backlog. I'd lose motivation as well if I was playing garbage like Shadow of War, or 10 different flavors of Switch JRPGs.

It all depends on time, new games releasing etc. I finished P5 last week and had it preordered day one :^). Shortly before that hzd came out and nier, then i got around ffxv, then others and others and thats how it is. op just decided to drop them instead of finishing yeah, Mario just has these hubs with nice variety. While Zelda is samey throughout
Yeah you're right but the fucker has aged 20 years in the past six months. Honestly a shame, love the fellow.

Man, he's putting poor Ant in fucked up situation again

Jesus hell, how many "second chances" is Artie going to piss all over? I'm getting to where I'm feeling like him dying would be a mercy to everyone around him.
Anthony Rodriguez
I'm planning on jumping into Nier as soon as I jump back into (and finish) Persona 5, because I really liked that one, which I'll do right after I finish the chronological God of War marathon I'm currently doing (just have 2 and 3 left).

Do I need to have played Nier to get automata?
Caleb Myers
not really, but there are few references and characters
Eli Hall
Yes. At first glance, it seems like it's own story with some light callbacks but there is a point in which it's made clear that automata is a proper sequel and continues the story of the first game. Cant say much more without spoiling you but think something akin to mgs and mgs2 You're wrong. Think route C
Lets use spoilers because OP hasn't played it yet. Have you read the Beepy sidestory?. The message Jackass sends you after beating either ending C or D?. There is made clear that the machines copied the gestalts data and are trying to emulate them, not the true humans form before WCS. The conflict between androids and machines is a continuation of the replicants vs gestalts one, the androids being the new replicants
