C is a direct continuation of A/B and a lot of shit goes down right from the beginning. How did you manage to find it boring?

I quit at the start of route C as well. I was running around the map trying to help other yorha units and I just decided it wasn't worth finishing. The combat is really weak compared to other Platinum games and the story is just alright. The OST is really good, though.

After I put in enough hours to beat 2 playthroughs, I lost the motivation to level up and grind and playing as 9S really sucks. I like the story but knowing I still need to play several playthroughs more doesn't seem worth it

Not only is the structure of these games driven by commercial goals rather than an artistic vision, but the fact that you have to replay the same content to unlock the entire story ruins the narrative. It makes experiencing the entire story feel like busywork and completely destroys any sense of immersion.

You forgot the fact that the westen version changed the main character from a brother to a father while leaving the dialogue unaltered, which makes large parts of the story completely nonsensical, yet everyone and their mother praises Nier for being supposedly so creatively bold to have an older protagonist.

When I got to the 9S playthrough and realised what was happening I laughed for like a solid 3 minutes. It's a really innovative concept for your next playthrough but fuck me did I screw up.

Why do people whine so much about “replaying” the game [insert hyperbolic number here] times when Automata only makes you do the “same” campaign twice? It’s a valid complaint with the original Nier because you need to go through key collection half 3 times and the entirety of Shadowlord’s castle 4 times to get every ending, but Route B is the only retread and you get to reload right at the C/D choice rather than having to do the whole tower again. Most complaints are at least a little valid or too subjective to say, but this one always seemed like straw grasping, especially from those that allegedly played the game up to the beginning of C.

Well to be fair a lot of games are pretty bad so people stop playing them. Especially with PS+ monthly games and PS Now games people get a bunch of games at once and don't go through them, they just sample them and go on to the next.

A lot of people simply have short attention spans these days. Do you honestly think the majority of people waded through 50+ hours to finish Persona 5? Fuck I cant even finish a majority of Japanese games I buy because a lot of them suffer from shit progression and awful padding.
