How comes an year old game has already dropped its price so much?
It surely isn't the best game ever, but is one of the (few) best exclusives on PS4

Same for The Last Guardian. Never buy games full price anymore knowing I'll get them a lot cheaper down the line, sometimes only a month or two (Wolfenstein, Forza 7/GTS went on sale at like 50% off very quickly).

They already sold 7 million or whatever the anniversary number was, this is now to catch impulse buyers.

I kinda want to buy this game but Aloy is so fucking ugly I just can't imagine having to look at her all the time. Is there a helmet in the game that hides her face completely?

No, just don't bother playing the game, if you actually give a shit what the character looks like I don't know how you manage to play anything at all besides modded skyrim.

Pretty much every game but GTA, Call of Duty and Nintendo games drop this hard.
On launch I only buy games I really need nowadays.

Not very dick around-able. The world is fairly empty, but the mechanics for gameplay are actually really enjoyable. There's things like lodges that have challenges for you to participate in, which were the highlight of the game for me, but outside of those, and cauldrons, I can't think of just stumbling upon stuff in the open world, it's all pretty well defined minigames/areas, then just everything else is paths to traverse along.

All that said, I got 30 hours of enjoyment out of the game, and then about 15 more of middling enjoyment to platinum, after I'd gotten a few purple weapons and just started nuking all the enemies in one or two shots on very hard (which was the hardest difficulty at the time I played).

For that price, you’ll probably gets your moneys worth. The story isn’t as SJW as the shitposting makes it sound, but it does still have some “whyte men destroyed it all, yas queen” to it. Once you leave the starting area, you can pretty much ignore the story and just dick around.

Play Far Cry Primal instead.

It's just the opposite though. not even half way through the game when you get access to the big secret area I won't spoil it literally goes out of it's way to tell you that the female team leader in charge of the information storage fucked up and deleted everything literally causing everyone to be sent to the stone age.

The only people that actually did their jobs right were the maker of hades, and the ceo guy who killed everyone after realizing they fucked up super bad.

I mean shit even aloy's clone mama couldn't weld a fucking door shut, she died welding A FUCKING DOOR SHUT.

It's a big game for them. They're trying to get as big a playerbase as they can so they can make it a recurring series.

My favorite was reading how The muslim chick in charge of apollo gets SO MAD That other projects similar to zero dawn in other countries wouldn't share information that she tried to re-write human history and says the US is the only country that survived, faro says "you're a fucking idiot" so she gets mad and deletes it all then blames it on him.
It really opened my eyes to the story a bit more. It's pretty funny though, everyone whines about it being sjw, but they go out of their way to point out how ass-backwards aloy's home settlement is, to the point where they're all living in snow covered thatch huts, grunting and praising moon spirits while other people are living in straight up early 1200s castles, with thriving full on communities, trading caravans, and more.

The story is so generic but it plays it off in such a hilarious way that I couldn't help but be charmed.

Because they'd be in fucking trouble when investors call happen, that's why you sometimes hear ship instead of sold when someone boasts about numbers so not to cause a shitstorm when they publish the actual sales.

Except that's just the main storyline. Read into the data logs throughout the zero dawn and apollo facilities and you get to see the email correspondence with samina and the other project managers, where she loses her fucking shit over those mean euros not handing over their work for free. And then you can find faro's correspondence in gaia prime, when he's emailing and talking to everyone before he kills them all where he talks about how stupid samina is for trying to purposefully mislead the new human race in that way. She responds back that "maybe it's better there's nothing for them to know" and suddenly there's nothing there.

Faro was a dick but that one wasn't actually on him.

If you can get the complete edition for cheap it's pretty nice IMO, combat is challenging on the highest difficulties and the different environments are fun to explore, especially if you enjoy beautiful landscapes.
