on med low settings probably. depends what games you want to play but horribly optimized titles will rape your gpu. what CPU are you pairing that with? I'd also recommend you spring for the 1050ti if you can.
I've got an i5 and a 1060 6gb and i can play almost anything 1080p in 60fps. If you're ok with dipping below 60 fps i think you'll be fine
I have an i5, I really wanted to get a 1060 but I'm in a poorfag situation right now and ithe 1050 price seems way more reasonable. Kinda sad that it won't reach 60fps tough.
He didn't ask about a 1060 6gb. Of course a 1060 is enough for 1080p. He asked about a 1050 precisely because a 1060 is 500 dollars now.
Yes, user. Most toasters can play in 1080, just with a lot of frame drops.
No it's only good enough for 1050p.
You need at least a GTX 1080 to get 1080p.
I have had GTX 960 for few years now and it rocks every game on 1080p easily yet I've been using it for 1440p gaming which is struggles to do with shitty unoptimized games like pubg, still even GTA5 on lowest looks nice with the resolution and fps is still 50 or something to me.
So I'd assume GTX 1050 is way better than my old 960 that already did every game on 1080p on high 60 fps at least back then.
Found 3 1060s on Amazon (US) for $340, $360, and $380.
OP You'll be running sub-60fps in nearly every intensive game at 1080p.
I'd suggest saving for a 1060 if the price stays around $350
It seems racing games are the more demanding? Also I don't plan to go beyond 60fps since my monitor can't do that. I can handle some drops but I see some titles can even go below 30...
this video is pure bullshit
Im running a 1050ti with a shitty g4560
and get solid 60 fps on mgsv with high settings at 1080p.
You need a 1080 for 1080p, come on user, it's not that hard.
1050 gets you up to 1050p.
Yeah man, I'm sure the person faked their benchmarks. They're obviously just running different settings than you.
nevermind i know why, these fucking "tech" youtubers love cranking everything to 4k even with shitty cards
Resolution is at 4k on that video
if you drop res to 900p you will play most of the games besides nier and quantum break
Brainlet of pc here
My bf gift to me one of these msi PC gaming, i7 GTX1080 is good? What I can play with this?
In short, probably anything.
thoguhts
>always been handheld-only povertyrace
>new laptop I get for finishing school has 1050 in if
I unironically don’t know what to do with myself
Friend has it
Siege runs on mid 1080p at 60+
Vermintide 2 has 60+ on high
Nier automata with that fan patch on 60
Dunno depends on the game
yes, but not every thing, i have a laptop with 5i 7300 and 1050ti and i can play most game in 1080p, dragon dogma max setting 60fps, the witcher 3 mid-high 60fps, pubg mid-low 50 fps, dota 2 120fps ultra, etc
it's good enough
with an i5 and 780 ti I could play pretty much anything 1080p 60fps
Never listen to anyone who says "you need X graphics card to run Y resolution". Every game is different and the perception of framerate and graphics is highly subjective.
The more money you spend, the prettier the graphics, but all current games will run on all current hardware since developers aim for the widest possible target audience and even the lowest tier graphics you can buy are equivalent to a Xbox One. (GT 1030 or Ryzen 5 2400G integrated graphics)
how come 1070 has better fps than 1080 in elder scrolss online?
also according to this video there is no point in getting a 1080 over a 1070 unless you play at 4k but at 4k a 1080 can't hold stable 60 anyway so there is no point either way?
Hey i went cheap as fuck and got a 1050. Went with the new i3-8100 so I could eventually upgrade to i7, 1070. I pay kingdom come on low, full screen, 900p > 1080p whatever that means. Not even a studder. 60 fps and wonderful looking. Cost me 500$ for the case, cooler, xbox controller, 370 mobo, 650w PSU, card and chip.
>he still plays at 1080poverty resolution
consoleniggers all of you
lmao based keanu not impressed by some POS fire hazard
Probably the most cost-effective budget build right now for that resolution and 60 fps.
>GTX 1050
Why would you set yourself such low standards? Why do you want to be at the end of the line?
>Too expensive
>Too poor
Maybe you mean to say TOO SHIT! Do you like staying shit? Do you enjoy reeking of feces? If not, maybe you should put a little effort, make a sacrifice and try to better yourself, like me. I used to be like you, settling for less than I deserve, but that changed. Now I am superior, and you too can join me.
Exactly the same poorfag build as mine.
Thank you for noticing me senpai.
I just changed an i5-3550 3.3ghz for an i5-7400 3.0ghz. How much did I fuck up?
I sure hope both of these CPUs fell from a truck and you didn't actually pay money for them
A lot. They are virtually the same.
Would have been a bigger upgrade to get some used i7-3xxx and even that's not much of a difference
I have gtx 1050 and i3-8100, can play everything in 1080p. Not using the max settings, though, high anti-aliasing makes FPS drop.
1080p isn't hard to achieve. The issue is how high your settings will go on the average game, and what the framerate you'll get is. It should do 1080p 30fps in virtually everything. It's unlikely you'll get a stable 60fps in modern games though.
where u from bro? does it happen for you also sometimes that the pc shuts down with no blue screens or errros or anything?
A lot, could have upgraded to ryzen for the same or less
Still serves me well.
How does it compare to R9 390? I have that and it works fine.
Chile
I haven't had any unexpected shutdowns but sometimes the GPU hangs, game crashes and the screen goes black. Had to downclock it to make it manageable.
In most games, 1050 = 1080p mid settings 35fps average. If you're willing to go down to 720p, you can go high on some settings but still get 40+ fps.
example ffxv youtube.com
Me again but I forgot. If you're buying a 1050, might as well buy that ryzen with vega. Almost same performance as a 1050 but a whole lot cheaper especially if you're building a new pc right now.
>most games
FFXV is in the top 5% for power requirements.
Boys, my brother just gave me an r9 290 for free, how long will this thing last me before I have to upgrade for newer games?
That benchmark actually gives lower FPS than FFXV itself. It gave me 10-20 FPS on high with GTX 1050 and the game itself gives me 30-40.
>XIV
>most games
1050ti can handle 4k on high at console framerates
FF XV 60 fps at 720p?
That's pretty good.
it's good enough to play games that are five plus years old in 1080p with 60 fps.
>diablo 3
>resident evil 6
>final fantasy XIV
>DOOM
don't expect to play XV and RE 7 without turning shit down. I tried the XV demo with my 4 GB 1050 and it was a pain in the ass trying to tweak that shit to even run at 60 fps and not look like total ass!
No. GTX 1060 (the 6GB version) is the bare minimum you should get for 1080p.
I have a 760 and everything runs at 60fps @ 1080. You just have to accept playing on medium settings.
Dude I still play at 900p
Yeah no. For example witcher 3 (not even a demanding game) hits only 30-40 fps on med settings at 1080p with a 760.
Got a 1050 Ti and it can play 1080p/60fps high setting while turning off bloat setting like AO ans Tesselation
I think 1050 are just tad slower than 1050 Ti
What about rotr?
I read his story and the man is humble as fuck. When you go through what he did, impressing others with toys because of your low self esteem is nonexistent.
>have 1050ti for months
>don't have any recent or good looking games to test it
Don't even remember why I upgraded. I only play toaster friendly games.
