Comes out on the third of April. There are 20 days left until it releases.
Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire
20 days left for another great Obsidian game filled with:
>Masterful and unique story
>Intriguing characters with depth
>Subdued and sensible humor
>Dialogue so extraordinary even Tolstoy would be jealous
>Thank you for reading this line
>Fast as a cheetah
>No shilling whatsoever
>Modern real time with pause combat for real hardcore gamers
>Brand new stunning graphics
>Actual character building consequences
>Perfect balance, making any character viable
>Some traces of environmental combat to boot
I agree that pillars had many problems, only partially resolved with the addon.
However, I am a combatfag and all I care is interesting charbuilding and good encounter design. Honestly, Pillars 1 had neither. This was exacerbated by purple prose and Sawyer's totes-not-forgotten-realms attempt at Tolkien.
when's that trailer commin
>3 weeks until release
>No trailer yet
More like Pillars of Eternity II: Deadaun Awraivêl
They didn't know what to do with resolve 1month before release
Its bound to get delayed or released a broken mess like POE1, remember defenses increasing everytime you loaded the game?
Is it getting any attention from the press since it isn't getting any marketing
Josh is working on it.
I hope it's good and successful. It looks beautiful and the setting is awesome.
>Deadaun Awraivêl
Thanks for the laff
shit game DoS II already won
Funny to see a screencap I took few months ago on this advertisement garbage thread of all places.
Saw it on Sup Forums and downloaded it into my folder. PoE 2 looks good and I'm looking forward to playing it, senpai.
Nah. That shit has reddit writing.
>Crowdfund game
>Becomes very successful- over 1.5m copies sold
>Sequel time
>Instead of using profits from first game, force fans to """fund""" development again
>Idiots are actually lining the pockets of the Devs
I will never understand why people support these scam artists.
I just soloed the game with a Bleak Walker. Anyone else done a solo run?
>t.rpg codex
Of course they used the profits of the first game to improve on the second. They showed a trailer for the game at the start of the campaign and it already looked much better than the first game. Them relying on extra money from crowdfunding to further improve the game (and their wages) is ok by me.
>Pay 60 bucks an year in advance
>Get the game when it comes out
How am I being scammed here?
You're not being scammed, you're just dumb :^)
I agree with him, and I do not frequent codex anymore.
I do not compare DOS2 to PST, or Krondor, or New Vegas. I compare it to DivDiv, to Divinity 2, to Dragon Commander even.
Same with Pillars, I don't need the level of PST, but I would prefer IWD writing to amateurish long-winded descriptions of Pillars.
That being said, I enjoyed the combat of both DOS2 and Pillars, although I wouldn't replay them.
What's the mod stance on these threads? It's like they delete or make them autosage randomly
Reminder that face painters need to be exterminated.
Nothing is ever consistent in this website. Better off not thinking too hard about it.
I had a hard time with the face painters as a moralfag. They seem incredibly evil, but basically every single character in Twin Elms seems to be living happily because of them and they aren't actually forcing harm on anyone, so I just kind of awkwardly didn't touch them.
Different cultures are weird.
Are the new multiclasses worth it or no?
Depends on the multiclass. There are some that are useless and some that are hilariously broken and overpowered. We won't know until we see what the last level abilities you miss out on are, though.
Telemetry gets me hard desu senpai
How's swashbuckler compared to pure fighter in terms of HP and rouge in terms of DPS?
>rogues should wear plate
It's almost as if these guys can't make games.
Oh wait...
Did you get your ideal save ready for PoE2?
I don't get the appeal of solo, i like having all my doods with me, same for bg2.
For the most part, but I just know I fucked up some minor quest that could have an effect on Deadfire and it will bother me to no end.
>Wanting Monk players to besmirch themselves and actually grab a weapon
I will never equip my Monk with anything other than gloves
I hope so too. But it won't.
Why no priest for any of the remaining gods?
Who were the face painters again?
No time is my guess.
Pillars one only had a priest of Magran so it's in keeping with tradition.
What class you going? I'm considering rolling a Seer (Cipher/Ranger). Not sure what subclasses to pick for them.
Eir Glanfath, they live in and around Engwithan ruins and ree at anyone who tries to study them.
Fucking stone huggers.
Maybe they should actually make armor not awful.
PoE 1 PoTD and literally only my tank wears armor. Everyone else is in simple clothing with 0% recovery time.
Gonna swashbuckle all over these sharfaggots.
Why are they called face painters?
They justified it as priest being a class that comes with a lot of baggage as opposed to fighter/rogue/whatever so it's harder to make story npcs
Loremaster Beckoner. Probably not gonna subclass on the Wizard side.
You mean in the character creator? Lack of time. I guess they could have easily half assed that stuff in if it wasn't for the fact that they want each one to have its own special abilities related to deities and a connection with the disposition system.
Being a priest of Hylea would be sweet.
$60 a year ago is worth more than $60 today.
Becoming a priest of whichever god you favoured at the end of Pillars 1 would be great for role playing purposes.
Aren't those the fags who try to kill you and Sagani when you find her former elders soul?
Fighter/Rogue Swashbuckler with rapier
>hit lvl 16
>no idea what talent to get since I already have everything even remotely good
Deep Pockets or Arms Bearer (Cipher, could probably use another gun)?
Companions can romance other companion's right? Does that mean we might get potentially cucked by Eder?
Yes. Possibly.
>not cucking Aloth with Edér instead
Eder wouldn't do that to us though, Right? R-Right?
>There was supposed to be four times the amount of writing for Grieving Mother
What was Avellone thinking?
Prepare to say goodbye to Xoti.
THE BELL THE CHIMES THE PLACENTA
This better be good. Been putting off my suicide for this.
He can have Xoti, for all I care.
I'd rather Maia desu.
Avellone is an overrated hack
PoE's creation was funded by nostalgia for the Baldur's Gate series and Planescape: Torment, but much of the work on it was done by the people who made Icewind Dale, and it shows. The mechanics are analogous to sitting down to play a D&D campaign by one of those insane DMs who obsess over pointless minutiae and devote countless hours to "fixing" the game.
If you like BG1 as it is, you're going to like PoE. But unless you've spent the last 15 years under a rock, you'll feel the flaws most keenly as well. You've likely played better. The fact that it fails to meet the level of quality of the games that it's modeled after on pretty much every conceivable level (we do think it's better than the original Baldur's Gate, but that's not saying much) means that there's no compelling reason to play it when you could be playing Baldur's Gate II or Planescape: Torment or the Icewind Dales, if you haven't played them already (or even replaying them, if you haven't played them in a long time).
The game is beautiful to look at though. But then again so is Divinity: Original Sin, and that game rocks on all fronts.
>Replaying games
>Not enjoying new fresh quality RPGs
SHYGIDDITY
Pretty much everyone agrees she's the best girl already, right?
Wasn't she suppose to have some sort of connection to Durance?
>implying Eder would ever be an option for dudes
We'll see when the game comes out. I think it's Paul writing her.
